A really nice hidden gem in Grafton. In a gorgeous part of the Southern Illinois woods, this alpine coaster rips you downhill in what feels way faster than the 25 mph top speed they advertise. You can't ask for better natural scenery on a coaster. Ride ops are friendly and fast; I didn't feel like I waited long, but I didn't see another rider in front of me on any of my three rides. The seat is relatively uncomfortable with the pulled mesh over a metal frame style, and if you're going full speed over one of the chicanes you WILL get banged left to right across the small of your back. The ride vehicles themselves are pretty small too, with seatbelt restraints. This is a relatively common thread across coasters these days, but if you're larger you might have problems fitting into the car and securing yourself. In all a really fun experience worth doing if you're in St Louis already

It pains me to talk about this ride. I grew up on Boss and have formative memories as a "I don't like going upside down" coaster kiddie riding this monster in its early days. Today, it's a shell of its former self. Rough rough ROUGH, it will tear you apart the further back you sit. The track is in awful shape and the cars desperately need refurbishment. Worse yet, the layout changes they made to keep this monster on life support have shredded any character it once had. The mid course trim brakes are jarring and plod you through the second half of the ride, which is neutered by the removal of the helix (which once provided some of the best laterals I've ever had on a woody). If you have some experience getting your ass kicked, there are some glimmers of hope here. The first half rips you through an out and back into beautiful Missouri woods at a relentless pace, with a great first drop and some legitimately scary headchops. It's a glimmer of hope before the pain begins. This ride desperately needs to be retracked, but frankly doesn't need the RMC treatment. The original Boss layout on new track and trains, with the helix restored and trims removed, could absolutely restore its place as a top-20, destination wooden coaster. Unfortunately, SFSL seems content to drag its decaying corpse of this shining star on as long as it can get away with it, likely to replace it cheaply with a clone or a relocated ride once it finally bites the dust.

The perfect ride. I dream about the zero G stall. When I close my eyes, I'm in a heartline roll so close to the water that if I just reach out, I might be able to touch it. When I press the accelerator in my car, I imagine it's boosting from 40 to 68 miles per hour in 3 seconds. It has invaded my life, my dreams, my soul. I don't even compare other coasters to this experience; they can't.

Had a great first experience on a B&M wing. The laterals in the corkscrews on a wing coaster are so unique that it's worth doing once, and the launch feels impactful in a way I've never experienced before. Smooth as silk through the whole layout with basically zero grit or discomfort in the track. The harness is pretty grim if you're tall. I'm 6'0 and felt pretty compressed. Be prepared for the first couple elements as well--I was greying out from launch until after the first loop.

Biggest surprise of the park! I expected this to be a significant step down from Voyage, but Legend really holds its own. I rode in the back car and, while it was a little whippy, it was absolutely the right call. Experiencing the crushing laterals of the second half's helixes along with bonus back-row airtime from the drops and double down was reminiscent of The Boss in its early days (SFSL is my home park--this is high praise). I'll have dreams about popping in and out of the helix tunnels for the rest of my life
The ONLY thing that holds this back from a 5 is scale by comparison. Voyage is a little bigger and a little more intense, but Legend could be a star attraction in nearly any other mid-America park.

The ride itself, with the comfort collar/lap bar, is comfortable enough through its thrilling but uninspired layout. Ops are pretty poor and the price per ride is frankly concerning.
For a coaster enthusiast, the unique flavor of this ride's location and views will make it a memorable credit. Unfortunately, you won't really remember the ride itself.

My first coaster as a child, and 26 years it's the exact same ride (derogatory). History and tight pockets are the only reason this thing is still standing. It's old, poorly maintained, jerky, shockingly uncomfortable, and despite always being a walk on it feels like it takes ten minutes to get started. I hope the new family coaster at SFSL finally encourages Six Flags to rip out this waste of space and put something memorable in its place.

Truly a work of art. Maybe the single best layout I've ever experienced; the first drop is breathtaking and I will never forget the feeling dropping into the second half tunnels. It's fast, aggressive, and absolutely relentless. There isn't a single dead spot in the experience.
My only complaint is that it could really use a little smoothing out. There's a line between wooden coaster charm and pregaming with two Motrin, and while it's absolutely worth the headache Voyage is riding that line.
