Rode this again in 2022, and it was my first “big” coaster in 2017 when I was 8. In 2022, it was insanely rough and had one horrible pothole that got worse throughout the day. I was at an ACE event too. About a week after I rode it I found out I had a stress fracture in my back, caused by this ride. I’ve seen pictures of the titan track on this, but they still didn’t retrack the turn with the pothole. The pothole is now right after the end of the titan track and the turn over by the station. I still love the layout, but that turn needs some tlc.

FoF now holds a special place in my heart, but this thing was pretty uncomfortable. I loved the theming, but the restraints were tiny and barely fit me. (6’1 , 215 lbs with a fb player build) Those shin guards in the floor do not allow enough space and I was barely able to fit my feet into them. On both of my rides the lights seemed to be partially on, because I could see just about everything inside the spaghetti bowl. I’m not sure if it’s always like that, but from what I’ve heard, it’s usually pitch black in there. I was able to see everything going on, and it was cool to take a look around the mess of black track and supports during the dead spots before and during the mid course. I barely fit in the restraints, and had to scoot my knees really far forward so the seatbelt could reach. I have muscular legs so it was hard to fit, but I’m not “fat” by any means. I love the theme on this, but the capacity is terrible, but at least there’s a lot of things to look at in the queue. It’s crazy this thing is almost 30, but it certainly rides like it is. The front row was decently smooth, however my second ride in row 7 was pretty rough. I was able to reach forward and push my upper back and head against the headrest to prevent myself from shuffling during the rough transitions. The track has certainly warped over the past 29 years, but it almost adds character (in a good and bad way.) This ride will always hold a special place in my heart, after not getting to ride it my first day since it was down most of the day, and then it not opening until around 6 my second day. Props to the maintenance team for getting this up and running, most parks would just give up and say it was closed for the day. While this is no wear near being the best coaster at KI, I still loved it

Everyone’s heard how great Mystic’s ride experience is so I won’t go into detail. All of Mystic is glass smooth for a woodie besides the valley of the first drop which is a bit shaky, but that may just be nitpicking. For a woodie in its 8th year that (to my knowledge) hasn’t been retracked yet, it is impressively smooth. I prefer this out and back layout to the GCI twisters such as Kentucky Rumbler and Thunderhead. Also, the projector in the shed shifted to the left mid way through my first day at KI, making the projector shine on the wall where you can’t see it. It was still broken by the end of the second day. As a result of the projector being broken, I noticed extra details such as the bats that light up on the ceiling and the Coke machine on the right hand side of the shed. The radio is a great touch, and I like the different tracks that play through a rotation. It gives something to listen to on the brake run whenever the ride ops stack. The feels like temp on the days I went was almost 100, so mystic was flying. This would be my favorite woodie if Voyage didn’t exist just a few hours away.

Went to KI for the first time over the past 2 days, I loved the Beast way more than I ever expected to. I had heard it was basically a boring woodie that just so happens to be long, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I noticed new Gravity Group precut track on the hill after the final helix, and the ride is running real smooth. It jackhammered a little bit through the last two turns before the second lift hill, but not too bad. Still felt smooth in the middle rows of each car. I recommend row 17 because it’s smooth while still being in the back of the train. Being a 6’1, 215 lbs football player, it’s hard for my legs to fit in the crammed PTC trains. I’m not a “fat” guy by any means but I do have very muscular legs which results in some discomfort. The crammed trains actually add to the experience in my opinion, it makes the ride feel like a classic. Props to KI and Gravity Group for maintaining this ride as well as they do. I never thought I’d love this ride as much as a did, but I’m now a beast fan!

It’s good if you know what you’re getting. Obviously it’s not a 4 star coaster. It’s a 4 star when it comes to the fact that it does what it’s supposed to do well. Sure it has dead spots, but it’s also still a classic. Will always love this ride
