Karacho is a great infinity coaster that didn’t exceed my expectations but met them. It’s got an interesting steampunk theme with really cool trains and a signature gerstlauer start to the ride. Launching out from the dark with the light rushing towards you is amazing. It’s not an insane launch, probably because it’s a rolling one (didn’t feel as powerful) but the following top hat and tall corkscrew/ inverted top hat? is probably one of the best moments on the ride, I found it to have great hangtime. The moments after are extremely middle, after the slow helix a whippy dive loop whisks you into a tunnel and through a corkscrew in quick succession. A great finale for a small yet powerful coaster.

HüK was undersold to me. I found it very intense as it powered through its layout faster than I expected. Each inversion was not as graceful as I thought it would be, you get rotated around the track giving a surprising float and strong lateral force combination. The Immelmann/ junior Immelmann is a nice turnaround into the lower part of the layout as you dive in and out of trenches, there’s even a 270° rotation from a 0g roll into a helix which caught me so off guard! The theming is interesting and different and the lift hill audio is a big plus which helps to elevate the experience while making it feel so new and fresh. The lap bar is super freeing and comfortable aswell.

Mammut is a pointless ride. It does nothing well and has an annoyingly apparent rattle, though doing nothing to hurt you. The only good parts are the pre lift which is somewhat reminiscent of blue fire’s, and the tunnel part which had pretty interesting profiling. Other than that there’s no laterals, airtime or forces at all. Worth one ride.

F.L.Y. Is an absolute masterpiece, the music, theming, ride system and everything else about Rookburgh are immaculate. The rollercoaster itself isn’t about insane elements but more about the scenery and experience. The queue line moves all the time unless you’re queueing for front row and the boarding experience and station is phenomenal. The preshow and turn into the launch flows so well and it all feels orchestrated and you get so excited. The preshow music still gives me chills dude all the time. The launches aren’t super intense but the airtime after the second one on the front row is awesome. The helixes at the end are forceful and the inversions feel so fluid and graceful. However, if you ride a lot your legs can get a bit stapled / hurt. But you walk up the steps and see what you just rode and it’s like woahhhhhhhhh

Galactica is a decent ride if it’s on like 20 minutes but its lack of intensity paired with assigned seating and frequent breakdowns means it’s a gamble how long the wait will be and how worth it said wait will have been. The drop and fly to lie element is fun but lying on the break run is kind of boring.

Nemesis inferno is a short and punchy invert, being my third I felt at home in the seat and the restraint, almost a ride I can relax in as weird as that sounds. But the queue line is fun due to how close you get to the ride and the front row queue was a great addition (especially since neither black mamba or reborn have one lol). The layout itself is standard invert stuff, but I got real whip at the start of the day on the zero g roll. Other than that the last helix is kind of out of place I wish it came a bit sooner in the layout to maximise g forces. And my ears were definitely a bit tender walking out the exit. A big plus is the area, I feel like swarm’s theming is overhyped but nemesis really creates a jungle and rocky aesthetic. As a coaster it doesn’t really stand out to me.

Swarm is kind of a weird ride. People praise it for its theming however I kind of see it as a bunch of vehicles and things the ride interacts with but the only other theming is the station and the shipping container with the store in it. Other than that it’s just a brick plaza. The ride itself feels a lot taller than it looks on the way into the park, the drop is good in the front at the start of the day due to the profiling of the wing over part and how slow you go it’s great. The rest of the layout is fine. The first roll is fun and the helix is kinda forceful, but I feel like swarm could’ve profited from a straight hill instead of the second roll. The roll through the station we don’t talk about and the bog at the end is super londoncore. It’s a fine ride but kinda short and I wish there was something other than a second roll.

Saw is one of my favourite coasters, bearing in mind I got one ride that wasn’t super rough. The dreaded pothole at the bottom of the drop people talk about isn’t bad it’s just there, didn’t bang my head at all because I kept my head forward. It is a bit rattly and I’d like it to be longer, as well as the fact the restraint kinda came down on me on the last inversion. But, the theming is great, I love the indoor section. Not knowing what was going to happen going in apart from the signature gerstlauer inversion was great and the random air cannons were just a little something more. Also saying ‘let yo bihh go through yo phone’ was the thing dude. After the hangtimey cool inversion the lift hill was kinda creepy knowing I was gonna go beyond vertical and it definitely felt weird, good ejector though and the straight hill was great. The drop off the mid course was almost too fast to give ejector, it just felt muffled. But the last inversion, kinda like a few other eurofighters and Karacho was pretty whippy and wild. Good stuff my number 4 coaster.

Hyperia is without question the best rollercoaster at Thorpe park and in the uk. Being someone who’s only ridden ~100ft and less coasters this was a massive shock to actually go down the drop. It feels genuinely out of this world to be ejected like that with just a lap bar going straight down, it feels as if you’re going to fall out it’s so good. The valleys shook me around a bit but hey not so bad and definitely doesn’t ruin the ride. The Immelmann is great, strong floater and I always grey out when I get to the top which no other coaster makes me do. The outer bank I felt should’ve done more I was kind of hanging there for a bit. The stall felt the same but was also great nonetheless. It was crazy to have your hands down on the stall and just hang from your waist. The mini outer bank was quite whippy in the front and the hill into the brakes gave decent floater in the front aswell. Definitely a front row for the view and hang time but back for the wildest ride experience. (Back right for that drop). Genuinely a coaster Thorpe and the uk needed, I don’t care if the theming is sub-par, the attention is on the coaster while I’m in the queue. Mine and others’ number 1 for a reason.

Colossus is super painful dude the trains push your feet up at a weird angle, the restraint is kinda claustrophobic and it comes down on the very first inversion lol. Heartline rolls are interesting but you just kinda move in 4 directions in your seat. Airtime good and landscaping cool

Before I rode Rita I was told it was horrific and it was the worst thrill coaster at Alton towers and the layout was bad and it was too short. I actually quite enjoyed it. We should be happy to have a hydraulic launch at Alton towers, the launch gives a crazy feeling and the airtime isn’t even weak. The layout is obviously short and underwhelming because of the tree line law but for what it is it’s good.

Such a classic that should not be underestimated and missed out for being too boring. This ride created my love for rollercoasters and is always so reliable. The operators always add to the experience creating a hype that I don’t think you can find anywhere else in the park. Such a fun family coaster for little kids and adults. The first hill always gets me super excited and the turn into the tunnel is super fun and intense. also waving to people on the rapids creates a real sense of community. Getting to ride it twice is also a huge pro because the second time you just love it even more. Theming could use a rejig and it might need a lick of paint in the tunnel but honestly I love love this ride. A must ever time!

Colorado adventure is hidden in the path between Deep in Africa and China, and is super demented. Like you get on and get at least 2.5-3.5g on every helix and there’s a couple indoor sections, one in partial light and one in complete darkness which feels out of control. Great ride especially if you go into the front or back. Usually a small queue and it definitely underrated.

Raik is a fun supporting coaster in the Klugheim area of Phantasialand, the interactions with theming make it really fun and the drop is, while tame, scary because it’s not clear when you’ll drop. There’s a fun twisted drop down on the forwards section but capacity isn’t great, I’d only go on when taron is closed and I’m in klugheim.

Black mamba is really intense, the whole area of Deep in Africa is great and the experience of going through the building at the top of the lift and rushing through the surroundings is a unique one. Also the dispatch sequence is great. The inversions are pretty standard for B&M inverts but where is shines is the complete immersion in the trenches. And the helices are intense.

Spinball is a fine ride, pretty fun with friends and is a change from some of the other coaster at Alton towers. The theming is basically nonexistent, could do with getting replaced anyway (imagine something like a Mack spinner, extreme or regular). It just doesn’t really fill any hole in the ride lineup and has an average layout. The horseshoe turn is fun though.

Nemesis is great, the best ride at Alton towers due to its perfect blend of theming and a top tier ride experience. The only thing I would want is for it to be longer, but per the tree line regulation at towers it’s the best it can be. Extending the layout only means it would fizzle out more at the end. It’s also extremely smooth and comfortable being one of the oldest at the park (and the reborn treatment)

For what it is oblivion is great, Alton towers really locked in to make something like this happen and the drop is unmatched in the park for the fear inducing, adrenaline spiking experience. However, the wait is not worth it unless the ride is a literal 5-15 minute queue because the drop is the only element. Tiny bit of a rattle on the bottom of the drop but who cares.

Wicker man is a fun family rollercoaster and for what it is can give some rides considered more than that, it has without question the best restraint at Alton towers so the airtime feels more out of control than any other ride there. The theming is really good, the music, massive effigy and infamous pre show make this a very memorable experience aswell as rollercoaster. Basically no cons apart from the few dead spots, the flat turn is worth it because of the drop that follows but after that it’s pretty forceless. Good stuff though definitely a top 3 at Alton towers.

The smiler is a fun ride, 2 even halves to give a break from the intensity and a good airtime moment. Sadly the ride isn’t so reliable but the maintenance teams try their best. It is a bit rattly but not as bad as people say, just keep your head forward and it’s barely noticeable apart from the final few inversions. The restraints also smell kinda bad, like sweat which is another reason to keep your head forward. I really like the aesthetic of The smiler and the hypnotising off ride views, but the queue is kind of horrible.
