    Spaß Zu kurz

    This is a worse version of Flight of the Hippogriff. A rougher, jerkier and worse themed Flight of the Hippogriff. It's not bad by any means, it's far better than #LikeMe Coaster, the trains are decent but a little cramped and the layout is fun for kids and families. However, I remember Flight of the Hippogriff to be smoother and less jerky, quite possibly because it's nearly a decade newer. Update July 2024: Just a middle of the pack family coaster. Decently smooth, no force.

    First Drop Komfort Spaß Rütteln Zu kurz

    SuperSplash is a weird ride. The elevator/turntable lift hill is fun but the theming is pretty meh all around. The queue looks decent but there isn't much on the boat section. Tthe drop has a bit of kick but the pullout rattles quite a bit. The bunny hill has nice airtime. The splash is weird. It doesn't get you wet at first but the wave deflects off of one of RTH's supports and drenches you.

    Fenix is an intense ride, much more intense than I thought it would be. The first drop has nice hang time in all rows and the pullout has some force. The airtime hill throws you out of your seat and the Immelman is intense at the bottom and has a bit of hangtime in the middle rows. The helix has some crushing positive G forces to the point of being a near-greyout moment for me. The zero-G roll is whippy and the ending has a bit of airtime and positive G forces. Fenix is a bit on the shorter side but the elements it has are really good and it is really well paced. There is a dark ride section at the beginning and the queue and area are really well themed.

    Nette Überraschung! Spaß Sanftheit

    Dwervelwind is a great family coaster. The theming is nice, and the onboard audio adds a lot to the experience. The turn after the lift hill is a nice way to get the train spinning and the first drop has a bit of float in the back car. It is rather shallow so don’t expect too much from it. The low turn gives a nice sense of speed and some mild positive G forces. The horseshoe turn gets you floating forwards and is taken quite quickly. The rest of the layout consists of a few dips, turns and S-bends which are all taken at a brisk pace. It’s a bit on the shorter side though. Dwervelwind tracks flawlessly and the audio works in most cars of both trains (except car 1 of the second train as of July 2024). It ran 2 trains for the beginning of my second day at the park, and when it ran one train, it was the one with functional onboard audio.

    Airtimes Tempo Intensität Rütteln

    I didn’t like Troy that much at first, for my first 4 rides. I got two other rides at the end of the second day of my visit which changed my opinion on Troy. It rattles a lot, don’t get me wrong. It has a few jerks and a constant rattle but beneath the pain, there is a good ride. The first drop has nice airtime and lateral forces in the back but the pullout is long and is jackhammer city. The climb into the turn has really violent airtime followed by a jerk on the turnaround. The following hill and climb into the turn have nice airtime pops. The large hill has nice sustained airtime up front and slightly weaker airtime in the back. The station flyby is a nice visual but the turn into it is really rattly. This is also the case for the quick directional changes after the station flyby. The final turn is quite fun because the train is still going really fast through it (and it’s also the photo section). Troy has nice theming and a great soundtrack, and just looks really nice in the park’s skyline. Troy is just a case of the more you ride it, the more you get used to its roughness, like Tonnerre 2 Zeus.

    Standort Spaß Unangenehm

    Toos-Express is a fun junior coaster. It’s a custom Vekoma Junior coaster and it is much better than the copy/paste ones like K3 Roller Skater. It has decent speed, which is amplified by the indoor setting. It tracks fine. There is a bit of a shuffle, but it’s decently smooth. There are some lateral forces and one or two moments of positive G forces. The trains are a bit uncomfortable and are hard, unpadded plastic. It’s a fun ride that you should ride if it has no wait like it did during my visit.

    Airtimes Inversionen Intensität

    I just remember this ride being absolutely insane. I don't usually put "Inversions" as a pro but it's definitely a pro for a wooden coaster. I remember that drop being a huge gut punch and that corkscrew being extremely disorienting. Then the airtime tthat came after that was insane. The directionnal changes were also really snappy from what I remember. I don't remember the rattle being awful either.

    Is this coaster a credit or not? I could it as one. I was expecting no force and a prominent rattle, yet I got a fun ride with a nice sense of speed. The queue line, despite how long it takes due to the abysmal capacity (2 peeps per train max.), is well themed and has some interactive elements, which is a really nice touch. There is a bit of shuffling here and there but it tracks pretty decently and is a fun, unique ride that you should at least try to ride once. It also broke down multiple times throughout the day, probably because of the rain so it can be hard to get the credit on a rainy day.

    First Drop Intensität Ejectors Kapazität

    I did not expect to love Expedition GeForce as much as I did. It's honestly a nearly perfect ride in my opinion. I like the simplistic theming, but I have to admit that the bigFM sponsorship is a bit out of place. Smells Like Teen Spirit played in the station once so I can't complain too much. Moving on to the layout, the first drop starts off with great airtime in the back rows and then has wicket lateral G forces. It's one of my favorite first drops in the world, better than Kondaa's first drop in my opinion and that's thanks to the added whip in the 7th car. Kondaa only has 6 cars for reference. The first airtime hill is more powerful up front, throwing you out of your seat. It's the first ejector moment on the ride and it's not even the most powerful airtime you get on the ride. The overbanked turn has a bit of force to it and the following airtime hill is insane no matter where you sit. It has super sustained ejector airtime, some of the most powerful airtime I've ever felt. The twister section is a nice change of pace and you even get some positive float on the turn into the straight downwards track. The switchback has nice lateral G forces and a bit of airtime. The return leg has quicker, yet still sustained ejector airtime. It's once again really powerful. There was a very mild rattle but nothing bad, especially for its size and age. Silver Star's rattle in the back rows is way worse. Even Thunder Dolphin, which is the same model but newer and with brand new trains rattles more. The trains are rather comfy, being the first (or second) gen Intamin Megacoaster trains, but they are slow to check, having both seatbelt (they are the slow part to check but they are necessary giving the extremely freeing lap bars) and lap bars. They ran two trains for most of the day and the coaster was a near walk-on for most of the day, but they removed the second train for the last hour, which lead to abysmal waits for the front row as they let people with fast passes go wherever they want and they almost always choose the front. They thankfully let them go every two trains. The wait for the back was still bad given the hard to verify trains and single train operations. This lead to a train being sent out every 5 minutes in the last hour. I still managed to get 10 rides on Expedition GeForce in just one day, which puts it neck and neck with Goudurix as my most ridden coaster in a single day.

    Abschuss Intensität Hangtime

    This is a great compact coaster, probably one of the best compact coaster models out there. Being my first Premier Rides coaster, I didn't know what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. I heard Sky Rocket 2 trains are cramped and uncomfortable but I thought they were pretty good. They are a bit hard to navigate but they are comfortable once you're in them. The first launch has a bit of a kick to it, but the backwards launch is really punchy. The non-inverting loop taken backwards gives a bit of a tickling sensation. The forwards boost also has some kick to it. And the turn after that is really intense and snappy. It is followed by a quick airtime pop into the highest point of the ride. The following heartline roll has amazing hangtime and the drop has good airtime in the back row followed by a wicked quick transition. The non-inverting loop has some positive Gs and a bit of floater. Watch out for the final brakes as they are a bit abrupt. You have to stay behind the white line in the station for some reason too. I like the haunted house style queue as it reminds me of Xpress Platform 13's queue line, but most of Sky Scream's queue effects no longer work, but it still has a spooky atmosphere, despite the bright lights that were apparently off a few years ago. I prefer Xpress Platform 13's queue line as all of its effects still work, but Sky Scream still has a cool queue line. Sky Scream is a bit on the shorter side, which is why I put rides like Black Mamba in front of it.

    This is a fun kiddie coaster, better than most coasters of its size. It's well themed, with a nice looking cave in the queue line, the dark section and water. The ride itself isn't too forceful but it's smooth and pure fun. It's also quite comfortable. A really nice surprise in my opinion.

    Update Feb. 2023: So I rode Avengers Assemble: Flight Force again yesterday. I came in talking trash about this coaster expecting the worst as my last rides were pretty lackluster... and I actually enjoyed it the two times I went on it. The trasitions were pretty good with no huge headbanging issues and while the ride still had a slight rattle it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. The launch is pretty great, the sea serpent element was intense and some of the turns actually offered some positive Gs as well. I still don't like the new theming as much as the old one but I'm getting used to it, so I'm not quite as mad as I was before. I don't know what happened in November, I must just have caught it on a bad day, overall I'm way more impressed by it this time, and I had some genuine good time on it. I'm giving it the 4 stars that I would have given it back when it was themed to Aerosmith. Update July 2023: I rode this three times today in rows 6, 7 and 5. There were some good things and some bad things. First with the good things: the ride had short wait times even during busy hours. It seems as though Disney listened to the feedback and added some stars and more screens during the layout which is much appreciated. The ride still has a good airtime pop near the end. Now on to the bad things: The pre-show, while it looks great, breaks the line. There were tons of people accumulating in the short line after it which made it impossible for the ops to close the door. Not a deal breaker but pretty immersion breaking for first time riders. The line after that pre-show also seemed to move at a snail's pace. Before my third ride, I had to wait for a show to end outdoors. I don't know about you but I think doing that show right in front of a ride's entrance seems like a massive design flaw. This show was also recurrent and took place every 30 minutes it seems. On that same third ride (unlucky ride I guess), the left speaker crackled and it seems to be a train-wide issue. The layout itself has some intense moments and the rattle is tolerable but it has some dead spots (at least they're not in complete darkness now). I am not changing my rating as there were some improvements from last time but also some problems. Update November 2023: Honestly, this ride is pretty smooth and forceful. It does bang your head around a little but if you clear the harness, you're gonna be fine. I marathoned this during my visit, clocking in 7 rides, which was actually my first time at only one of the two parks in years, I usually visit both but I don't regret spending my whole afternoon at Walt Disney Studios. Waits were non-existant too and they didn't even bother with the pre-show. Overall, it was the perfect setting to marathon it. Update February 2024: Well, guess what, not only did I prefer it to Crush's Coaster, but it was better than ever and I even beat my record, I rode it 8 times, making it the coaster I probably rode the most in my entire life. It was pretty smooth too, the bootom of the Sea Serpent inversion didn't rattle this time, though I noticed that train 1 was the only train that gave a slightly rough ride, all of the other trains tracked smoothly but train 4 or 5 had grumpy speakers and I believe train 3 had restraint issues where they had to be manually unlocked. It's pretty intense all throughout which is why I prefer it to Crush's Coaster and the restraints are actually pretty freeing, the inversions actually give a slight feeling of weightlessness, lifting you out of your seat for a split second (especially the first inversion on the Sea Serpent roll). The more I ride Avengers, the more I like it, which cannot be said for Crush's Coaster. Update November 2022 [OUTDATED]: This to me was the worst coaster at the whole resort, it is rough, like the rattle felt way more pronounced than last last time and the headbanging... GOOD GOD, it was WORSE than on GOUDURIX, that's how bad it was. Heck, I even heard people say it was rough in Spiderman's queue. The theme is terrible, I can not wrap my head around how stupid it is, the Aerosmith theme fit this ride a lot better plus when you see what an amazing job Disney did with Guardians of the Galaxy, it is even more of a letdown. The ride felt faster than last time and the brakeruns didn't slow the train down so there aren't much dead spots but the launch felt forceless while even 3 months ago it was great. I mean Space Mountain's launch was better than this one and it's supposed to be the weaker one... I can not give this ride more than a 3/5 in its current state, it's just sad and I'm now of the opinion that this should get new trains as soon as possible. Just ride the other coasters of the resort like Crush's Coaster, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Indiana Jones, all of those are more enjoyable than whatever this is... Orginal review [OUTDATED]: This coaster, when it was known as Rock’n’roller coaster starring Aerosmith would have gotten 4 stars. In terms of layout, it’s good, while I know it is a controversial opinion, I personally like spaghetti bowl coasters. I love the launch, and I find the sea serpent quite intense. The ride does have some dead spots with the brake runs but the corkscrew always catches me off guard and the final hill gives some airtime. The first time I rode it in 2017 it was smooth-ish and it felt the same after my re-rides in August 2019. I rode it again this year after its conversion as Avengers Assemble Flight Force and I have to say while the building looks nice from the outside, the queue was okay, the animatronic was good but it all goes down hill from there. The countdown screens are just TVs and the ride is mostly in complete darkness with just a few projections of Iron Man and Captain Marvel through the ride + the ride now has a nasty rattle. Thankfully it is still mostly free of headbanging but it is also how I noticed the rattle. Overall the 3 year retheme is lazy and looks cheap when you compare it to the extremely detailed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, add to that the nasty rattle and this is what brings it down to 3 stars for me… They at least could have gotten the new vest Vekoma trains.

    Oziris is probably the best B&M invert ever made and it is the best coaster in its park and dare I say in France. It has some great hangtime packed zero-g rolls and good inversions at the beginning and it even has some airtime. The first drop is great, especially in the back of course. It is extremely smooth and intense and has zero headbanging, a perfect invert in my books. Update April 2022: This ride is still as great as ever and I think I got a ride with the nylon wheels this time as it ran much faster than usual. It also had a slight rattle, which didn’t bother me at all because it wasn’t uncomfortable, it just was kinda there. All of these signs point to it using the nylon wheels on my latest rides. Even though Toutatis is there, you sure as heck don’t want to miss out on OzIris. That said, I have to deduct .5 stars to this coaster’s rating due to how great Toutatis is. Update May 2023: This ride is near Toutatis in terms of how great it is. Fight me. I got three rides today: One in row 7, then in row 5 and finally in row 3. It's one of the only B&M inverts that has airtime after the first drop. The transitions are whippy yet immaculate. The first inversions are intense in the front and the Zero G Rolls are both great. They are floaty yet also have great whip. All drops deliver great airtime and even the transition into the brake run delivers good airtime. The ride is also extremely smooth. The only "shaky" part is the pullout of the first drop. Even though Toutatis has good theming, I still think that OzIris is the best themed coaster at Parc Astérix. Don't miss out on OzIris when you visit Parc Astérix. Update June 2023: While OzIris is an amazing ride, after riding it and Toutatis back to back, I can't in good conscience give it 5 stars. While it delivered my best rides on it yet, and the positive Gs were way more pronounced than usual, Toutatis is still a level above it. Update March 2024: I rode OzIris in the front row twice and it was INTENSE. It was a riot of positive Gs and weightlessness. It's still glossy smooth and the new interactions with the pathway towards La Tour de Numérobis feels like such a small change that adds quite a bit to the on-ride experience. Update June 2024: My latest rides on the 14th and 20th of June seemed to be with polyurethane wheels, my ride on the 9th of June was with nylon wheels. Therefore, I'll be judging it based on my latest rides. It ran great on the 9th of June, but those later in the month were a bit sluggish and the restraints seem to have different positions compared to before it is either too far or just stqples you, it's weird. There is a bit of a rattle but only on the pullout of the first few elements, and the elements didn't seem that intense aside from some positive Gs on the first inversions and the awesome final zero-G roll. Everything else felt a little tame, but I felt the same last year in June as well. I also nearly banged my head on the exit of the overbank and the drop into the tunnel with thekeyword being nearly. These are spots where it didn't happen before so maybe it's because the wheels are new. The first drop is amazing as ever, that hasn't changed.

    Airtimes Thematisierung Tempo

    The best coaster at Phantasialand. It has incredible theming, music and I love the build up to the launch. It's also a capacity monster. Both launches are really punchy, the transitions offer some airtime for the most part and the actual airtime hills have some floater airtime and it's just a really well paced ride. I guess you could call the section right before the second launch and part of the ending "dead spots" but they don't hinder the experience in my opinion. Update July 2024: This thing is relentless. The over elevated seats really enhance the experience. I got incredible rides in the front and back, and they were all smooth, even though one of the trains I was on had an audible rattle that weirdly couldn't be felt on ride. Awesome coaster.

    This is a surprisingly intense mine train coaster. It pulls some decent positive Gs on the helices and turns as well of some lateral G forces. It's quite long too. Its seats are quite uncomfortable though. They are weirdly padded and can hurt your back a little. A few of the transitions don't help it either. Update July 2024: I actually love this coaster. It is surprisingly intense in the back car. You get some great whip on all drops thanks to the insanely long train and the turns throw you about like a ragdoll. A few of them also have nice G-forces and there are many awesome near-misses.

    This is a great ride with a layout that's both unique and intense. The launches aren't too powerful, but maybe that's for the best in this position. The first launch also gets faster near the end, which kind of compensates for the lack of initial power. The inversions and airtime pops are floaty and just feel insane in this position. It also just looks cool flying around such a well themed land and interacting with the pathways. The pre-launch section also looks great. As for which row I prefer, it has to be row 1, as the airtime is more pronounced here. The back is also great. The lading system is also really efficient despite the lockers and metal detectors. Hey, Tokyo Dome City and especially Fuji-Q Highland, it's actually possible to be efficient with lockers and metal detectors, why not implement the same procedures as Phatasialand? My only nudge is that it's not the most comfortable thing in the world. My second ride on April 9th was perfectly fine, but my first ride was after lunch and the restraint just pressed against it on the positive G moments, and my only ride during my second day at the park was good, but the lap bar crushed my thighs a little bit my the end. A ride that needs to be ridden in specific conditions to really be top notch just can't make it up to my top 3. Number 5 is where it's at for now. Update July 2024: Well, I have to say that everything that I said about discomfort doesn't stand anymore. I mean it can press on your stomach a little bit but it's fine. I really enjoyed it more this time and it was hauling through it's layout on my ride in row 1.

    9/4/2024: I honestly preferred Force for one reason. It's smooth. Fear has noticable jolts, especially during its pullouts and helices. It's the longer of the two and the most thrilling, with a few zippy drops and.a longer indoor section with an incredibly unique tilt track that catches you off guard. The kink in the final brakerun is also odd but it makes the ride all the more fun... and weird. All in all, it's just an incredibly unique spinning coaster that's slightly hindered by a few potholes. Update 10/4/2024: I rode Fear again at the end of the day and it didn't rattle much. It's just rather uncomfortable. The brakes are just really violent and the trains are uncomfortable. The lap bar rather bulky and contacts your stomach. Update July 2024: This is the better of the two Winjas now that I think of it. The tricks are more interesting and plentiful, it's longer and rather smooth too. The trains on both Winjas coasters have the lower section of the bar higher than Crush's Coaster, so you have way more room for your foot. The trains are also more padded than those on Crush's Coaster.

    9/4/2024: This is, unexpectedly, the best side of Winjas. It's shorter, but it's more varied. It has a few snappy transitions at the beginning mixed with a wild mouse section, which is better than a straight up wild mouse section. The drops are zippy and the helix in the middle of the area is disorienting and the switch track that just brings your train forwards after that section is just bizarre. You are inclined, so you think you're gonna drop down, but no, the car just rolls to the right or left, depending what side you're on. The following twister section has some energy to it. And the towards kink on the brakerun is just odd. This might be right behind Euro Mir in terms of how weird it is. My only complaints are the capacity and a few jerky sudden stops. Upadate 10/4/2024: I got the last train of the day and I stand by what I said. It's the smoother, shorter and slightly less thrilling side of Winjas. I got an off-balance ride and the car spun like a top during the wild mouse section. Update July 2024: My opinion has changed on both sides on Winjas. This is the less thrilling, shorter one, yes, but it also has the better capacity. I do prefer Fear, as it has the better tricks and more punchy layout and drops. The trains on both Winjas coasters have the lower section of the bar higher than Crush's Coaster, so you have way more room for your foot. The trains are also more padded than those on Crush's Coaster.

    This is the best B&M invert that I've been on. Mind you, I've only ridden two but Black Mamba the better of the two. It has world class theming, especially its gorgeous station. It starts off strong, with an intense loop and an insane zero-G roll. The pre-drop is weird but it gives a bit a character to Black Mamba. It's mainly about positive Gs, near misses and scenery. It also throws in a bit a weithlesness and two snappy corkscrews. It's one of the best looking and most confusing coasters I've even ridden. It also has the same weird double seatbelt as OzIris on the right inside seat of row 5. Just note that the max height is 1m95 due to its interactions with the scenery. Update July 2024: After having ridden Monster at Walygator, I have to say that Black Mamba feels like a smaller version of Monster. It has a drop that reminds of the one on Monster, a similarly intense loop and zero-G roll, whippy corkscrews, an intense helix and intense turns. All of the elements on Monster have a bit more punch, but those on Black Mamba are still very intense. The theming is also wonderful, as can be expected from Phantasialand. I recommend the back or front if you can choose. You get the unobstructed view up front, and the better forces and drops in the back. There was no wait on a quiet Friday in July, and I managed to get 7 rides, which makes it the perfect coaster to marathon at Phantasialand (F.L.Y. had next to no wait too but the queue is physically very long and there are the annoying lockers and wait in the station, and Taron always had a 15 minute wait at a minimum).

    Original review (April 2024) [OUTDATED]: This is a good family coaster with horrendous throughput. It looks really good with all of the theming, not on par with Taron but it still looks amazing. You can get two cycles if the queue isn't too long, which I did. The first drop doesn't do much, it just picks up speed really. The pullout has some positive G forces. The helix has decent Gs going forwards and the following transition has a bit of whip. The train didn't get lifted up before going backwards on the first pass, but even though it did on the second pass, it didn't feel any different. It's just a less forceful version of the layout going backwards, which is perfect for a family coaster, really. The only knock on it is it's abysmal capacity which isn't great for a family coaster. The backwards section can also be nauseating if you a weaker stomach, but it was fine for me. The lap bar has shin guards, which can make it uncomfortable. It's fine if you have shorter legs but it was a bit of a problem for me. It's more comfortable if you cross your legs, but that's the issue... you HAVE to cross your legs to have the best experience. Update July 2024: Honestly the shin guards are not a problem. The trains are quite comfortable, but there is a bit of a shuffle to the ride. The first drop is nice and the forwards and backwards sections are rather intense for a family coaster and it did two laps with a 5 minute wait both times. Fun ride.

    Nette Überraschung! Spaß Dauer

    Original review (April 2024): This is a roller coaster that I didn't expect anything from, yet it impressed me in nearly every way. It's long (it has three lift hills), it's rather smooth, and the VR is really well synced to the layout and it adds a lot to what is already a good family ride and I personally think the VR adds to the experience. It's not forceless either, it has some intense turns despite its relatively slow speed. Honestly, I don't understand why this is ranked so poorly, as it's one of the best family coasters that I've ever ridden. An underrated ride that you shouldn't miss. Update July 2024: I have a few things to add since my first ride. Now that I've ridden Eurosat Coastality, I have to say that Crazy Bats is the better VR coaster experience. The headsets have louder audio, the image is clearer, and the way you board the train, while less unique, is more handy. You walk a bit with the headset in Eurosat, and while it's a unique visual, it can be poorly adjusted to your height and quite disorienting. It's also better storytelling wise. It's a longer ride with less forces, but it honestly is more suited for VR than Eurosat is. If you easily get motion sick, asking to ride without a headset can help. One of my group members got motion sick from the VR so it's just something you have to know. It was fine for me though.

    First Drop Spaß Sanftheit Kapazität Unangenehm

    This is the best coaster at the resort and saying that makes me sad. The first drop is great and the spinning, while not extreme, is always great fun. It keeps it's pace really well and the outdoor section is fun. The capacity is awful though, you will rarely get a wait that's less than 1 hour and even then it's probably still a 55 minute wait. Avengers was closed so I didn't get back to back rides to compare but this is better than what I remember from Avengers. Update November 2023: Well, I actually got to ride Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Crush's Coaster back to back and yeah, while Avengers is really good, this is the superior coaster. That first drop (in the main layout) is awesome and it tracks better than Avengers too. The queue can grind on you but it was manageable when I went there. Update February 2024: This didn't impress me nearly as much as it did in September or November and I actually preferred Avengers this time. I don't know if it's because it didn't spin much, because the brakes hit more than they did before or because I had high expectations but, while it's fun and the first drop is absolutely amazing, it kinda dies at the end. The U turn is always forceful, and it exerts forward G forces, which is quite rare, the small wild mouse section is really fun but S bends after the U turn felt a little forceless this time, but the helix is still dizzying. The ride basically dies after that though, as it follows with a series of forceless turns. The brakes are pretty harsh too, they really shove you into your lap bar or sideways depending on which way you're facing and the lift hills have some jerky kinks at the beginning where the car comes in contact with the chain. The trains are also cramped as hell. I managed to get two rides, I waited 45-ish minutes to get on and at the very end at exactly 21:00, where I got on one of the last cars. Still, this was a little disappointing compared to my previous rides. It's going down from 4.5 stars to 4. Update July 2024: This is a good family coaster but it doesn't come close to being as good as Winjas. Let's start with the good. The theming is pretty good and unique. The queue, station and dark ride segments are all well themed. The main layout's theming is a bit simpler but it works for the speed of the coaster. The pacing is better than Winjas' once you get to the main layout but it's also way shorter. There are a few punchy elements like the first drop, second drop and U-turn. The downwards helix towards the end is quite disorienting. It also tracks the best out of any coaster at the resort (except for Casey Jr. maybe). I have two gripes with Crush's Coaster though. They are the atrocious capacity which lead to this ride having the longest wait at the resort and the brutal brakes, but that's something you can say about lots of Maurer spinners. The trains are cramped too but it doesn't bother me too much.

    Update June 2024: Goudurix is actually criminally overhated. It has great forces, and relentless layout and, if you lean back, doesn't even bang your head on the transitions, except for those on the batwing. It does rattle a bit but it's mostly fine except that batwing. A retrack of that inversion is honestly all that the ride needs. And for those who call this coaster "Goudumalaucrâne", I did not come off of this ride with a headache after 10 rides in a day, 9 of them being consecutive rides (basically a marathon). For contrast, Voltron gave me a soaring headache after two rides with 50 minutes of wait in between. As for my previous speculation about the logo being removed from the trains, it was just to replace the worn logos with shiny new ones for the park's 35th anniversary, which look quite nice. Update March 2024: One ride in the front row and this did my head in in a way that Indiana Jones didn't do after two rides. It was honestly way rougher than I remembered. It was intense, sure, but uncomfortable. The trains don't have the Parc Astérix logo on them anymore and there is some new test paint on part of the first corkscrew. Maybe they're selling the current trains to another park? If that means they are buying new trains while giving the current ones away (potentially to go on a less intense and smaller Vekoma looper), I'm all for it because the current trains are what causes all the pain. And that layout is awesome. Just not with those trains. Also just so you know for now: The better of the two trains is the one with the old Vekoma logo on the back of the first row of each car (somehow). If you see a new Vekoma logo, brace for impact. Update August 2023: My first ride was just the usual Goudurix ride. You ride in defensive mode and you're fine. That was towards the back. The front row was honestly miserable. The train shuffled violently on basically each track piece and the headbanging was atrocious. Every time the track changes direction, it bangs your head like a pinball machine. My Tonnerre 2 Zeus ride was a bit worse but this was still very bad. At least the loop was smooth, intense and enjoyable and the following hill had a bit of airtime in the front. Everything else is just bad. Please get new trains.

    Airtimes First Drop Intensität Rütteln

    (I removed my oldest reviews because they are outdated and no longer reflect my opinion) Update October 2023: This thing redeemed itself big time. Especially on my second ride in row 9. I got room with my lap bar, the first drop is excellent, so is every subsequent drop. The 90° wave turn might be my favorite part of the ride, it is floaty, almost giving a feeling of weightlessness. The speed hill offers a good pop of floater airtime, and the back to back hills later on deliver more sustained floater airtime. The final banked hills might actually be the weakest in terms of airtime. They don't do much of anything in my opinion. The ride is overall quite smooth for a wooden coaster. It has a shimmy, but nothing bad. It is amazing how this thing managed to impress me just a few months after my awful rides. I guess it's going up from 3.5 starts to 4 stars. Update December 2023: I got my first two backwards rides on this and it was incredible. Everything had more power and that drop backwards might be the best drop that I've experienced. It's a bit rough but I think it adds to the intensity. Update January 2024: My ride in row 2 was insane. It was at night as well and it was intense. It rattled quite a bit, but nothing too jarring. Update March 2024: Now, the removal of the back car is a bit of a bummer but the queue moved a bit faster than it did in January so I guess that's an improvement. Not only that but this thing HAULS through its layout. I felt the airtime this ride has to offer like never before, probably thanks to the added weight on the train with the additional car. That rattle was a little hard to take in but it doesn't leave you with a headache so it's not a big issue. Update May 2024: I got some great ejector airtime in row 14 on all hills. It was glorious. It's rough, no doubt, so much so that it tilted my GoPro back a little bit. But honestly, it's tolerable. I also found Tonnerre de Zeus's old PTC trains sitting abandoned somewhere near a parking lot which was actually quite an emotional moment for me. Update June 2024: While my first rides of the month were pretty meh, and didn't have muh airtime and a pretty big rattle that gave me a bit of a headache on my second ride, my only ride on June 14th was another story. It had great airtime and didn't rattle to the point of giving me a headache. It seems to be a roll of the dice whether you get a good ride on Tonnerre 2 Zeus or not, it heavily depends on the row you are seated in and maybe even the train you get (though I can't confirm that). Uodate June 27th: Once again a great ride at the end of the day with lots of airtime and not even that much jackhammering.

    Airtimes Abschuss Hangtime

    May 2023: I rode this coaster for the first time yesterday and holy sh*t. This coaster is awesome. Everything from the launches to the hangtime on the inversions, the airtime, the backwards airtime and the whip is awesome. I got two rides: one in the last row (10) and one in row 8 and I can confidently say that this is by far the best coaster I have ever ridden. An absolute must do for coaster enthusiasts around the globe. Update March 2024: I had way more room with the lap bar this time around and man is it ever great. It's a great mix a forces that never puts you in even the slightest of pain.

    Update June 2024: This ride has a great layout, but its rattle seems to only get worse. There is now a pothole on the backwards section (which is where you don't want any violent rattle) and it is really jarring. It's a fun ride but it does have a rattly moments turns and pullouts. It and Pegasus at Europa Park can really be interchanged in my top. Also first time I see no wait for this. It was a walk on, which is highly unusual, especially in June. Update March 2024: I was positively surprised by Pégase Express today. It ran well and the fast paced transitions are fun, even if there isn't much in the way of forces. It's just behind Goudurix in my rankings now. Update October 2023: Forget what I said about this being better than Zeus. It's not. Zeus is a great coaster and I even prefered Goudurix to Pégase Express. It's a good family coaster but it does next to nothing in the forces departement. I don't even think it hits 2Gs. It's a good family coaster, it does its job well and has a high throughput. The rattle can grind on you, it doesn't cause a headache, it's just there. This coaster is a great fit for families and a good step up from the smaller coasters at the park. It has a cool launch out of the station that has a little bit of kick to it, a good drop that’s not to thrilling to appeal to younger riders and a short but good backwards section. The Medusa section is cool too and some hills have a tiny pinch of airtime. The ride has a problem that a lot of Gerstlauer coasters have and it’s the potholes. They are especially noticeable in the backwards section and the coaster overall has a little rattle but nothing too uncomfortable. A good intermediate coaster that fills a gap between thrill and family coasters though it is still pretty much a family coaster. Update June 2023: I rode this coaster on June 28th and it was my best ride on this. The forward section didn't wow me, it was the same as before. The backwards section was awesome. Not being able to see what is coming adds a fun factor and makes even the mildest of elements hit different. The left seats also get some water due to the fountains that are syncronised to the trains passing. It did have a noticable rattle, but nothing that really bothers me. I had a better experience on this compared to Tonnerre 2 Zeus, which was crazy rough and not fun, and that is enough to push it to a 4 star rating. It's better that Goudurix and Zeus (unpopular opinion, I know).

    Spaß Sanftheit Unangenehm

    This is a good coaster for families. The long train is quite impressive. Speaking of this train, it is cramped and it is not comfortable. It has hard plastic seats that feel like you have a bar pressing down on your back. It also has a LOUD roar, which is quite ironic since it's close to the way bigger and way more quiet OzIris. Despite the bad train, the layout is good for a kiddie coaster but there are some jarring moments like the turn out of the station on the second lap. It's still better than a wacky worm though it does look pointless next to OzIris and now Toutatis, which is visible from the egyptian area. At least, you don't wait an hour to get on it like on another Zierer coaster at the same park (VoL d'IcArE). Update August 2023: This, unironically, has the most lateral Gs at the park. Is that a good thing? No. The train is actually not too cramped when you're alone. The unpadded lap bar can really hurt when it's close to your legs (which it was for me). The new entrance makes a bit more sense. This coaster actually has some good whip in the back, especially on that first drop but those transitions are really jerky and throw you from side to side. The worst offender is the nearly unbanked turn after the station. You actually get accelerated before so it's even worse. The ride is quite smooth and a decent ride for kids, especially with its three cycles. Update June 2024: I got two rides on this coaster and honestly, it's quite fun. The drop has some nice zip to it in the back, and the turns have some lateral forces. Those lateral forces can be uncomfortable if you're alone in your row, but it is fun when you're with someone else. I also love the song "Pudding à l'Arsenic" that they now play in the station as part of the 2024 name switch to SOS Tournevis. The turns after the station are taken at goofy speeds, so you get some of the wildest lateral G forces out there. The trains aren't the best though.

    Thematisierung Standort Spaß

    This is the roughest coaster at Parc Astérix by far. The seating is uncomfortable. Just like the trains on Vol d’Icare, the trains on Trace du Hourra have tandem seating and it is bad. It’s not as uncomfortable as it is on Vol d’Icare, at least according to my friend. To me it felt mostly the same but oh well… but the roughness is what really killed the ride for me. It is incredibly shaky to the point where my vision was bopping up and down. The theme is nice though and the location in great next to the upcoming Toutatis coaster. The bobsled aspect is fun though and the layout for a bobsled coaster. Roughness is apparently an issue on all Mack bobsleds so I’m just gonna accept it, and remember, I was in the FRONT row, which is supposed to be the smoothest row in a coaster so I can only imagine how it is in the back. My friend told me he didn’t feel the roughness that much probably because he was in the front of the seat with me protecting him from the vibration. I’ll probably pass this coaster the next time I go there or maybe I’ll ride it last because if I’m gonna get my brain shaken around, I’ll ride it last. Still a tiny bit better than Vol d’Icare but barely. Update May 2023: I rode it twice this time around because there was next to no line so I thought back to back rides like that were a bargain. First of all, this has got to be one of the most efficient coasters I have ever seen. It is not rare to see two trains on the lift hill at the same time. I got a ride that was extremely rough in the middle but I was resting by back on the seat. At the end of my first ride, I figured out that not having your back on the seat was much more comfortable. I got another ride in the very back and it was good. The first midcourse didn't hit at all which not only made for some awesome whip on the following turn but also some good positive G forces. The S turns are quite fun at the beginning. What's funny is that someone threw up on the exit platform in the train right in front of me. I've heard many people call it "La Trace du Vomi" which literally translates to "The Vomit Stain" and there you go so that was quite funny but overall it's a good family ride that brings some life to the festival area. Update January 2024: This actually has good positive Gs. It's actually pretty smooth in the front car too. I actually prefer this to Pégase Express. Update March 2024: Didn't ride it this time as it was closed for half of the day, and had a 50 minute queue (the longest on March 30th) after its reopening. That paint is looking worse for wear though. I don't believe it was ever repainted. Update June 2024: Welp, it did get repainted a bit on the downwards helix and the finale, but only the part where the trains run, not the entire track. I liked it and my friend, who was behind me hated it so much that he ranks it under SOS Tournevis. It really depends if you're seated at the back of the seat or at the front.

    Schoßbügel Komfort Sanftheit Airtimes Dead spots

    This is a coaster that fails at what it wants to be. It wants to be a wooden behemoth, but is pretty forceless, aside from one or two tiny pops of airtime on two of the bigger straight drops, and a few lateral kinks. I got three rides on this coaster: the first in towards the front, the second in the back row, and the third towards the back. And honestly there's more airtime on the A4 motorway that leads to the park than on Anaconda. It is smooth and the trains are comfortable, though. The airtime-less hills in the middle of the ride are one big dead spot by the way. Probably the tamest woodie in France despite being the tallest. The soundtrack is pretty good. It kinda reminds me of Kondaa's soundtrack. People over 1m20 are allowed to ride Anaconda, which is not surprising given the forces, or lack there of. Anaconda runs one train and only has one available as the train comes to a full stop well into the station. The final brakerun merely serves as a trim section. I would say that Anaconda is well deserving of an RMC conversion, but with Walygator’s current lineup lacking a family thrill coaster other than Anaconda and their limited budget and upkeep of the park, I just don’t see any RMC conversion happening in France for a while. Tonnerre 2 Zeus got an overhaul two years ago, and the other two woodies in France are small, compact family Gravity Group coasters from the late 2010s. Filming on Anaconda is allowed, though only with a chest mounted GoPro.

    Abschuss Intensität Ejectors Rütteln

    Voltron is an insane ride. The theming is beyond incredible, with tons of special effects, a great Nikola Tesla animatronic, an incredible music that really gets you amped up for your ride. The pre-launch "drop track" was broken on my visit, but it looks like a great little effect. The beyond vertical launch is incredibly weird on-ride, and has decent kick. The inversion after that has great hangtime, amd the corkscrew has fine whip on the inside seats, and great whip on the outside seats. The speed hill afterwards offers a quick burst of ejector airtime, and the two immelmans feel different from one another due to one being non-inverted and the other being inverted. They both have floater airtime. The rolling launch has no kick but you can still slightly feel it. The zero-G stall has great hangtime, and the airtime hill afterwards has insane ejector airtime. It throws you into you lapbar. The s-hill after has a bit of whip on the inside seats, and decent whip on the outside seats. In a similar manner, the dive loop is whippy and disorienting, especially on the outside seats. The jump into the brake run has a pop of ejector airtime, especially further up front. The turntable helps break up things a little, and honesly is necessairy. The launch has okay power going backwards, and the spike has a bit of weightlessness further towards the back. The launch going forwards has really surprising power, and the top hat has a bit of floater airtime in the front and back and a bit of whip on the outside seats. The next airtime hill is as good or better than the one in the first half, with great ejector airtime. The double up has quick pops of airtime, and the final section has nice whip and positive Gs, with a floaty corkscrew followed by floater airtime at the end. The trains are great, and the park seemed to run at least 5 of the 7 available trains during my visit. They do rattle, and it can vary from a very slight rattle to quite a few potholes.
