Airtimes Intensity Ejectors
Beautiful Ride! Very nice Airtime Hills and also very nice Theming! 9/10 Points from me!
-
Smoothness Ejectors Duration
Amazing coaster! The sustained ejector on the first two hills is simply incredible and the rest of the layout has some more great ejector and floater airtime moments. It is butter smooth as well, something I wasn't expecting from a woodie. I had no problems with the helix in the middle, you pick up speed throughout making it quite a fun element and the theming is also really good. Great job Intamin! Edit 24-10-2023: After having ridden El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure Colossos was kinda disappointing. El Toro's first drop and subsequent hills are so much better than those of Colossos and El Toro has much better pacing. Colossos is still a great ride but it just left me disappointed because El Toro is just that much better. The only things Colossos does better are the smoothness and theming.

Airtimes First Drop Theming
Definitely the best coaster in Germany, I would even go as far as saying it's the best coaster out there.

Nice surprise! Intensity Ejectors
Woodies always look impressive, their massive structure make them seem larger than they are. But Colossos is already enormous. So, wow. Firstly, I like the theming, the giant is imposing from offride and enjoyable onride, its roar is really intimidating and the station looks nice. Besides, it has quite a good soundtrack, my favourite from the park, and I love that it's played through the lift hill. That's something that should be made more often, it really adds to the experience. Then, the drop, although it's just straight track (it reaches it max angle soon and then looses all curvature), really provides, it exceeded expectations. With those long trains, if you ride at the back it gives powerful ejector that's then sustained by weakish floater till the bottom. The next two camelbacks are awesome as well, great, sustained ejector air all throughout. However, the turnaround isn't the best, and the rest of the hills only give mediocre floater. On my first rides, I didn't really complain about that, but the more I rode Colossos, the more I felt those other hills were too weak. However, they're fun, and you really feel the speed of this monster flying through the layout. The lap bars were awesome at times, offering great freedom for the first ejectors; but sometimes they stapled on the first valley. I don't know why that happend only at times, maybe it depends on the specific seat or something, but it happend, unfortunately. Also, the valleys were very intense, the two first ones and mainly the one after the turnaround. I'd never have thought that the most forceful (positive-Gs-wise) coaster at the park was their woodie. Awesome intense valleys amidst awesome ejector hills. If only that quality was kept all throughout... By the way, this is a coaster made out of wood, but it does not feel like a woodie at all. If I'd ridden blindly, I'd have sworn it was steel. No rattle at all and incredible forces for a woodie. That's great, on the one side, but on the other, I did miss the wooden coaster feel I've always loved. Overall, awesome roller coaster and clearly best at the park for me.

Airtimes Lap Bar Intensity Dead spots
Colossos is one of the most intense and yet smooth wooden rollercoasters I know (at least its first half...). The airtime is ridiculously awesome on those first few hills and the positive Gs this ride packs are just insane for any wooden coaster. However in contrast to the rides before the retracking, the ride has become substantially tamer, which does not work out well at all. Those last airtime hills are nothing like what they used to be. And the double helix has always been a dead spot (as every other one) but after it the ride usually still delivered at a similar level as on the first hills. I know they intentionally toned the ride down, but this is not how it was supposed to be. That being said Colossos is still an awesome rollercoaster but after the amazing first half it does not deliver anything noteworthy anymore. The monster on the track is nice though and the theming has generally improved since the retracking. I also like the lap bar and general comfort of the cars. Colossos is a perfect ride for advanced newcomers and is still a fun experience even if you have been on many better rollercoasters.

On the front row, I saw Jesus on those first few hills

Airtimes First Drop Duration
The best ride at the park and the best wooden coaster I have been on. The first drop is amazing and the airtime on this beast is really cool. The front row is really better than the back row. It provides great visuals and better airtime. People say that Colossos has dead spots but I think people are overreacting, the helix is good.

Airtimes Smoothness Duration
Very nice and smooth ride with impressive duration and airtime throughout. It resembles El Toro, but the first drop is not nearly as steep (61 degrees vs. 76), and because of that it's not as intense. The monster gimmick looks cool and is huge. Definitely a crowd pleaser, but it also feels a bit pointless at the very end of the ride.

First Drop Theming Duration Intensity
As someone with a fear of heights, this one took me a while to get on. But once I did ride it, I was surprised by how smooth it felt. I decided to put intensity as a con because I expected it to be more intense than it was. Not that I mind it being on the "friendlier" side. I love the theming of the preshow, and going through the mouth of the monster in the end, with a piece of track leading elsewhere. I think it has great pacing, and lasts for just the right amount of time.

First Drop Intensity Smoothness Dead spots
The ride feels very smooth for a wooden coaster (thanks to Intamin's prefabricated track). The first drop is fun and the 2 following airtime hills are nice with ejector airtime. After the turn element the ride unfortunately slows down and the double helix is pointless. The final straight to the newly installed monster is nice again with a little bit of floater airtime.

Airtimes First Drop Smoothness
Loved it. I have ridden it 3 times in a row in the very back row. Every Hill (except the turnaround thing) deliverd nice sustained airtime. The first two camelbacks were especially great, as these delivered nice sustained and strong ejecetor airtime. Its also very smooth.

Airtimes First Drop Smoothness Dead spots
Colossos feels especially unique for a woodie, almost like a wooden Shambhala or other ride of the same model. It’s packed with lots of floater airtime, smooth, and has some pretty intense moments. However, it did leave something to be desired. There are some dead spots, like the double helix, and most of the airtime is pretty mild. However, it’s still got some pretty strong floater and is overall a great ride.

Realy smooth airtime machine. Not intense.

First Drop Comfort Ejectors
-
Airtimes First Drop Pace
Really intense and good woody. Good airtime moments. Pacing is strong. The finish with the monster tearing out a piece of track is just awesome.
-
Hard to fault it. Smooth as heck, great airtime (you need to be in the back to get the real good stuff though) and the monster tunnel was awesome. It's not El Toro but it is a very high-tier Woodie.

Smoothest wooden coaster I've ridden. Nice airtime. Some dead spots like the helix though

Airtimes Smoothness Duration
We queued 90 minutes for this coaster, but it was worth it. Our ride was in the last row at late afternoon and albeit not being very intense, this coaster is just enjoyable: it is smoother than many steel coasters, there are some nice artime moments and it is a quite long ride. Additionally, this coaster looks stunning due to its huge size, the fire-spitting monster is a nice gimmick and I also really like the epic soundtrack of this ride. A small con are the safety belts, which slow down the dispatches and feel unnecessary. Overall, there are better wooden coasters out there (Wodan for example), but it is still a great ride.

Airtimes Fun Smoothness
This is the best wooden coaster I have ridden to date. Seriously a smooth ride with plenty of airtime to be found. Riding this I can completely understand why El Toro is so popular. The fakeout part is so hyped but sadly it gets lost very easily and doesnt do much for me.

Airtimes Theming Comfort
I've been waiting 4 years to ride this beast of the coaster. When I visited Heide Park in 2017 Colossos was closed - refurbishing. So I came back to ride it. 8 rides during the day. In the morning feels slow but at the end of the hot summer day in the back row it is an airtime machine. It kinda feels like wooden version of Hyperion in Energylandia but with less rattle (plus) and less intesity (minus). All in all I really love what Heide Park did with this coaster. It is amazing.

Capacity Disappointing! Tear it down! Dead spots
This coaster was a part of my early teenagehood dream, finally got the opportunity to ride it this summer after its long decaying closure and rehabilitation, i was expecting something. Visually the ride is beautiful, after a 2h wait (lol), here comes the ride. Flat drop rct-like designed, the famous hills are quite disappointing, pointles as all the boring layout, bunny hops at the end absolutely does nothing aswell. Finally the ride ends, sad enough to constate that this coaster is badly over-rated, yet smooth, fast paced for the 2first hills and then everything disappears as the exitment. i had the impression that i lost my time, even in the august heat with a ride operating at full capacity at the end of the day. At least the only good thing is its capacity but it makes you still able to wait a ridiculous amount of time for such a......poor ride. Honnestly would have been better to tear it down and build something new on top of it than spending 12M++ in a rehab. Clearly, Colossucks, it sucks so hard omg

Airtimes Smoothness Dead spots
Finally got to ride colossos in 2020. The smoothness of this ride was unbelievable, however the airtime was a slight disappointment. Even though the first two hills have fantastic ejector airtime the rest of the ride is mainly floater and a pointless helix. Really fun and smooth prefab woodie though

Disappointing! Pointless Airtimes
ColloSUCKS I actually HATED this ride. It doesn't deserve the hype it gets. Layout: Boring, in and out layout, no cool figures, no bunny hops or intense helix, feels like your just going, up, down, up, down, turnaround, up, down, up, down turnaround, finish. Airtimes: Or lack thereof. The first drop has a weird angle (straight down,n instead of curved) so momentum is kind of weak-ish and the airtimes are very weak, i didnt feel like I floated. All of the above makes the ride pointless and dissapointing! I did it aftr it was retracked. RMC it or tear it down!!

Airtimes First Drop Rattle
Great Airtime, but it's gotten a bit rough the last time I rode it which was a few months before it closed for refurbishment
-
Airtimes Disappointing! Dead spots
It does not deserve the Hype however, This is still a good ride. The first 2 hills are incredible, just wished the rest was as good. The other hills are disappointing. The helix is forceless. Great crowd pleaser tho.
-
Airtimes First Drop Fun Dead spots
Very highly anticipated which isn't always a good thing but was a lot of fun. Only downside is the trims that have a real effect on the pacing.
-
Airtimes Fun Capacity
My expectations were set very high before the ride and I have mixed feeling about Colossos after the ride. First thing - it is huge. You can't see it from the park, as most of the track is hidden. But when you are on the top you see the beauty and size of this rc. After first drop the track goes up and down several times (separated by great 180 right curve), which gives you plenty of airtime, but every hill is more or less the same as the previous one. The second part is more interesting, mostly due to the fragment below the wooden construction (you can really feel the speed) and additional track close to "fire mouth" which is really nice trick used by the constructors. Overall, it was really good ride with plenty of airtimes, but with quite boring track layout, extremely long queues (90 minutes for most of the day) and disappointing theming.

Airtimes Fun Duration Intensity
This coaster (and a lot of coasters with similar layouts) deserves its rating for its fun factor alone. I think it is overrated in terms of intensity, though. While the drop in the back packed some serious punch, the airtime is not at all extreme, just very good and there's plenty of it. Positive Gs are not extreme either, but strong nonetheless, especially at the lowest point after the turn around. What bothers me personally with this type of ride is its very predictable and schematic layout, there's no out-of-control-feeling at all and there are a lot of moments to catch your breath. The near-miss-giant at the end is a welcomed addition and you get a nice sprinkle of misty water passing through the hole, that can be easily mistaken for just fog in some videos. Fire effect also adds to the excitement in the cue line, as you really feel the heat. I personally don't think the near miss works so well, but I was also very much anticipating it, so that might have detracted from the surprise. Overall, a great and very smooth wooden coaster. For me it still does not feel like that one stand-out coaster in the park, though - for one part because it is a little less wow-ing than expected, and also because I find some other coasters in the park stronger than they are often made out to be.
