Theming Location Intensity
Brilliant Ride One Of My first I ever rode The first corkscrew is just absolutely incredible and the zero g roll over the station + the vertical loop really make this coaster Magical. Well Done B&M and John Wardley

Inversions Pace Intensity
Not the best invert, but definitely up there and possibly the country's best coaster. It's between this, Icon, and Smiler for me. I do think Exodus will without a doubt be the best, though. Anyways, it's a very whippy and VERY intense ride with some great theming. It's also very impressive with how they built this ride.

it isnt a repaint its a completely different ride

Location Masterpiece Intensity
Still the UK’s best, the relentless intensity and perfect layout make for a classic. Excited to see how it runs after it’s completed retrack.
-
Inversions Location Intensity Harness
This is my favourite inverted coaster. My favourite part is the loop, but the corkscrew was a bit rough though. I also love how it goes through the terrain. John Wardley is definitely a great ride designer, & the idea to make a coaster this intense below tree height was just genius. I personally can't wait to ride the new version in 2024.
-
Theming Harness Intensity Rattle
(Before the retrack) I absolutely love Nemesis for how much it packs a punch. From the first drop until you hit the brake run, Nemesis is just pure intensity with the forceful helix at the beginning, the vertical loop and all of the corkscrews and 0G rolls. I hope that with the changes of the retrack, too much of the theming is not altered because the Nemesis theme is so iconic, but I look forward to seeing how it will look and ride after the retrack.
-
Theming Layout Disappointing!
Maybe I just had a bad ride, but it wasn’t THAT good. Very impressively designed coaster, but it just didn’t hit. Good Alton Towers theming as always. Maybe when it gets retracked my opinion will improve, but as of now, I think it’s pretty overrated

It is so themed you Don't notice the ride finish

Location Intensity Layout
This legendary ride is definetely one of the best inverts out there: the use of the terrain and the unusual layout lead to an interesting pacing - while many traditional rollercoasters tend to have the most intensity at the start after the first drop, Nemesis starts a bit leisurely and gains speed throughout the whole track while the end being the most intense part of the ride. Thanks to the use of the terrain, there are some near misses which make this ride feel even faster than it actually is - the layout in general is great, I especially enjoyed the zero-G-roll and the last corkscrew which was particularly snappy. Overall, it was an awesome experience and the mighty roar fitted perfectly to it. I am curious how the retracked version of this coaster will ride, but I highly doubt that it will be as loud as the originial - I personally appreciate a loud B&M noise, but I still can understand this decision.
-
Theming Pace Intensity
(written before retrack) in my opinion this is the best coaster in the uk, basically tied with the smiler. nemesis does not have a single dull moment the entire ride, the speed (especially with a 42ft drop???) and intensity are ridiculous, it hugs the terrain as much as it possibly can and still wouldn't dare hurt you 30 years later. this coaster is so good i couldn't think of a single con for it, the only one i considered was "too short" but even then... is it? like it's far from the longest in the world but i don't think it needs to be any longer. i just hope that the retrack keeps the coaster as intense and amazing as it was before! (i can't imagine it wouldn't)

Location Intensity Headbanging Harness
Every so often on good ol' Nemmy, if you get jolted wrong then your head turns into a pinball à la Spinball Whizzer between the restraints and those B&M restraints HURT. APART FROM THAT, good ride!!
-
Inversions Location Intensity Dead spots
An absolute bona-fide classic. Alton Towers’ unique height restricitions caused this to be built below ground level and it’s all the better for it. With the iconic roar, theming, and great name it’s a real work of art, and a fantastic ride experience too! Maintains great speed and flings you round without resorting to too much head banging. Slight dead spot at the end but apart from that it’s a must ride! I hope it doesn’t lose too much of it’s character in the retrack!

Location Intensity Layout Dead spots
Nemesis deserves every bit of acclaim it has ever recieved. The ride is fast, intense, and has the best near misses on any coaster, with every turn trying to rip your feet off - through forces and near misses. The entire area around Nemesis is perfect - the coaster is running all around you, flying under and over you, with it's iconic roar being omnipresent around the entirety of forbidden valley. The highlight of this ride is the sadistic downward helix, which forces you into a greyout, as you then violently whip over the station in the most terrifying near miss on earth - especially paired with the camera flash at night - so you've only regained consiousness while inverted over the station. The rest of the layout is great, with positives and whip being abundant - only really slowing down in the overbank around the station, but even then that's taken at a great pace at night, and the drop being quite nothing. Nemesis is spectacular.
-
Fun Masterpiece Intensity
What else can I say than literal perfection. I wish that I could put more pros on this review because of just how great this coaster is. It has the classic B&M restraints, excellent theming and never seems to have absurd queue lengths. It feels way more intense than it is (somehow it only pulls a little over 3G), has insane foot-chopper moments and the layout is truly one-of-a-kind.
-
Location Masterpiece Intensity
After 28 years, the Beast is still very much a beast. That layout, in that location, is just incredible, so intense at numerous points, but in particular the helix into the zero G roll. That's consistent greyout territory for me now, so I guess maybe it's a little too intense sometimes. Great theme and soundtrack as well. I will say this year it's not running absolutely brilliant, there's some interesting noises and some shaking that wasn't previously there. But with an impending retrack, potentially new trains, and some touch ups to the theming, Nemmy is getting the attention that a ride of this calibre absolutely deserves, and I have no doubt that it'll return to rule supreme in forbidden valley once again

Theming Fun Intensity
Nemesis is an absolutely world class ride, and certainly the best B&M invert out there. It's packed with G-forces, whippy inversions and transitions, and overall an amazing layout. It's getting re-tracked soon and while I wish it would be open when i go in March of next year, I'm extremely glad that it's getting the love and attention that it deserves.
-
Theming Masterpiece Intensity
Wish I could select more pros as I would select pace and layout too, it's still blows every other coaster at Alton towers(and therefore the UK) out of the water after almost 30 years. Theming is incredible although I do miss those rivers of blood. Just a masterpiece.
-
Location Intensity Layout Rattle
Best inverted coaster I've ridden! Sustained positives on the first corkscrew and helix cause grey outs sometimes, beautiful surroundings and theming! It's a bit rough but it is nearly 30 years old and will be getting re tracked soon!
-
Theming Intensity Smoothness
I can't think of any cons, This ride was amazing the whole way!
-
Theming Location Layout Dead spots
I want to love this ride, but I simply wasn't in the mindset to enjoy it as much as I should have. Desparately need a reride in a better mood. Dunno what was wrong with me!
-

I would give this 10 stars if I could. Perfect ride and my number 1!

Pace Masterpiece Intensity Too short
Been on this ride so many times and still is my favourite coaster. From start to finish it is so intense and never lets up. Despite its short ride time it manages to cram so much in and is relentless. It is simply fantastic
-
Pace Masterpiece Intensity Discomfort
This is, without a doubt an absolute masterpiece and my current Number 1 coaster. This thing is just nuts, full stop. I`m not too sure how this coaster manages to do what it does in regards to physics but it manages to do it with a lift hill height of only 42ft. That drop (or dip to be more accurate) might look pathetically small but it builds up enough speed to absolutely HAUL you through that first corkscrew (plus, disengaging off that lift hill in the back of the train, you get violently yanked forward). This is followed by the most intense sequence of elements I have ever experienced. A helix which more often than not forces you into grey out followed by a ridiculously fast Zero G Roll, providing a foot chopper moment that still gets you every time. Nemesis then takes it`s turnaround (which still surprisingly intense) before throwing you into one of the most force filled Vertical Loops you will likely ever go through. It then takes a slight breather, traversing over a turn with few forces. But that doesn`t matter too much, because before you know it you are getting thrown through a ridiculously low to the ground final Corkscrew with insane levels of whip. Followed by a turn sequence into the brakes, which you go flying into. Up until this point, I`ve done nothing but praise Nemesis. So what are it`s cons? Essentially, the ting ain`t exactly the smoothest on the block now. Don`t go in expecting what I would classify as "rough" or a "rattle", but about one in every three rides in my experience (oddly specific I know) you will get a jolt or two. These jolts are most common sitting in the front or back of the train and on either of the corkscrews, particularly the last one. I won`t lie, it does hurt and it will leave you with a red ear. But, judging by how intense it is and it`s age, it`s a wonder that it is not way worse. And as I mentioned earlier there is a spot where it does take a little breather. But other than that, there are no bad words that I can say about Nemesis. Sure, bigger and better may have come along since. But this was built in 1994, has lasted until 2022 and is getting retracked next year (I bloody hope it don`t get ruined) so it lasts for A LOT longer. Simply put, B&M don`t make them like this anymore. If you want to experience the peak of their golden age of intensity and innovation, then head on down to Alton Towers to ride a coaster that still consistently ranks very high in world rankings to the day. You won`t be dissapointed

Theming Inversions Intensity
The best coaster in the UK. Gotta love a whippy invert that's relentless in what it does. Incredible ride, there's even some airtime on the first drop. Love it so much
-
Pace Fun Intensity Too short
Still an absolute beast all these years later. Excellent interaction with the terrain, intense from start to finish. It's just too short.
-
Theming Inversions Intensity
Great intense ride. Very fast and the roar is insane on the visible turn. There is around 4-5 inversions including a loop. And the airtime on the loop is brilliant. In conclusion the ride is great and even while your in queue the theme tune is playing and someone is describing the nemesis monster. Great ride!
-
Theming Pace Intensity Headbanging
Awesome ride, however occasionally it can have a bit of headbanging.

This is intense and still has a bite despite it opening in 1994

My new favourite rollercoaster!!! The g-forces were extremely intense, inversions were very fun and there was even some airtime. Recommend to anyone visiting Alton Towers.
-
Location Intensity Layout Headbanging Too short
This ride is one of the most talked about in the UK, and for good reason! It's very intense and the pacing is incredible, not to mention the location and surrounding scenery which really adds to the ride. Although I wouldn't call it rough, I've had some rides on it recently that did knock my head around. Also, despite having a great layout, the ride is really quite short.

Don’t underestimate this beast by its size alone! Amazing inversions and the most intense inverted coaster

Theming Inversions Location Headbanging Disappointing! Discomfort
As much as i wanted to love this ride, i came off disappointed. The terrain and theming is great, however the ride doesnt really offer much. Still a great ride, but a bit overhyped
-
Theming Pace Intensity
It seems like B&M inverted coasters are everywhere. Normally they are huge steel coasters that can be seen from far away. Nemesis breaks that rule and spends its time low to the ground sweeping around the terrain. The theming on this ride is incredible from the blood red water to the monstrous design of the station. This coaster packs a mean wallop from start to finish and never lets up. A particularly intense moment comes in the beginning where the train spirals down into a trench, then hops up into a zero g roll. The vertical loop is also very intense. It is also a glossy smooth ride. In my opinion this is the greatest coaster at Alton Towers. Do not miss this one.
-
Nice surprise! Intensity Duration Headbanging
An amazing coaster for thrill seekers all over the world.
-
Theming Inversions Layout
I rode this ride once because it was Scarefest in Alton Towers and it was crowded so the qeue lines where to big. I missed 3 credits that day even. But this ride was one of them that i was looking for in this park. Many times i saw POV's and docu about it. And then i did it last row because we waited long enough and it blew me away how amazing this B&M beauty is. Because of the height limit until the trees the make good efford of the terrain, so the inversions are pretty low. In the back row is these one realy force full. I ranked this coaster at number #12.
-
Location Intensity Layout Dead spots
Unique layout with some very intense moments, but there are multiple dead spots that really kill the pacing for me.
-
Capacity Inversions Intensity Discomfort Intensity
A very intense but amazing ride! Nemesis doesn't give you a break and I've found over the past few years that the queues are becoming surprisingly smaller! The theming is a little out-of-date now but this still continues to be (IMP) Alton Towers' most intense ride.
-
Inversions Intensity
I had rode Nemesis a handful of times mid train, and must admit I just didn’t get the hype. I then rode it front seat, and boy was it a whole different experience. The near misses and sight of rocks/water whizzing by your feet completely changed the whole experience. It’s totally different admittedly, but comes just behind Icon @ Blackpool as one of my favourite coasters in the UK.
-
Location Masterpiece Intensity
Perfect short burst of thrill. Always going to be a personal favourite of mine. Amazing piece of engineering.
-
Theming Headbanging Discomfort
I really wanted to love this ride - but I didn’t. I know many people love it and this will be an unpopular opinion. I respect that this ride is very iconic but it is not comfortable. Either it was too intense or just too much head banging. I gave this ride 3 chances but I just didn’t enjoy it. It is only my 6th favourite ride at the park and if I wanted to go on something fun, I would just go to the ride next to it (Galactica). But the theming is cool and it never has long queues.
-
Theming Inversions Intensity
Amazing, Fantastic, Fabulous, you name it, Nemesis is that. It's intensity is unmatched, the theming is fab. I'm speechless. Easily the best coaster in the UK for me
-
Location Layout
Not the intense ride people tout it to be but certainly good fun, great at night.
-
Pace Masterpiece Layout
Nemesis is worthy of it's legendary status. It's got a creative, terrain hugging and intense layout, especially when it's sped up towards the end of the day, and it gives FANTASTIC front row night rides during Scarefest. I love this machine. It's the uniqueness of Nemesis' layout that gives it such a good place in my rankings. The vast majority of B&M inverts have a pretty similar layout, usually starting with a drop into a vertical loop, followed by a zero-g roll and some corkscrews, with a fancy turnaround thrown in if you're lucky (examples include Black Mamba, Nemesis Inferno and the Batman clones) however Nemesis shakes up the element sequence to make for a far more interesting experience, especially when combined with the unique terrain interaction unlike any other coaster in the world (at least that I can think of). It builds and maintains speed throughout the layout, and whilst it may no longer be the best ride in the UK (hello Icon) or 'the world's most intense ride experience' (hello i305... probably... I haven't ridden it yet) it is still the best ride at Towers.
-
Location Fun Intensity Dead spots
It is a fun ride however some moments, mainly the over banked turns are quite boring.
-
Pace Intensity Layout Headbanging Too short
A very intense ride, speeding up from start to finish. Hard to see what's happening at points because of this, and has a great layout riding the terrain. Too short, and could be spectacular if a little longer.
-
Theming Location Pace Headbanging
This ride is intense. It keeps its speed form the beginning to the end. You sometimes don't really see where you are going because of the caves and tunnels and therefore it is unexpectedly fast. The small (floater/airtime?) hill after the chain lift gives a great view over the ride.
-
Inversions Location Intensity Too short
Still my favourite coaster in the UK. It packs a punch from the moment you come off the lift hill and doesn't let up until you hit the brakes. The vertical loop is a particular highlight. Ride it in the front row for the best view - it can be a little rough at the back but it's aged very well. The theming is still excellent even though the rivers no longer run red. Capacity is good, even on a busy day the queue moves well.
-
Location Masterpiece Intensity Too short
Still amongst the best B&M inverts!
-
Inversions Masterpiece Intensity Headbanging
This coaster is super intense and packs in a lot in its short layout. I thought that there was minimal roughness, as always with a B&M invert the corkscrews and zero G rolls can be a bit painful. This coaster also has the best helix of any coaster. Overall my third favourite coaster and I think the way it interacts with the terrain to be masterful.
-
Theming Masterpiece Layout Headbanging
I love Nemesis. Not for its "intensity" as advertised, (far more intense coasters exist out there) but for the relentless layout that seems to build speed as you traverse it, the dives into the valleys after every element, and especially that zero G roll with the near miss. I honestly couldn't care less that I sometimes get my head whipped against the restraint in the inversions, everything else makes up for it.

-
Inversions Masterpiece Intensity Headbanging Too short
Nemesis is the reason I'm a coaster fan, closely followed by Rollercoaster Tycoon. It may well have been responsible for staving off insanity! The ride is highly original, substituting raw speed for high rates of turn and close proximity to the ground. For such a simple and effective trick not to be used widely elsewhere is a travesty. If by some miracle you can catch Nemesis on a cold, wet night you will hardly ever find a better time on a rollercoaster. Watching the Towers Fireworks from Nemesis is highly recommended!
-
Inversions Intensity Layout Too short
Fantastic roller coaster with great pacing. The layout makes the most of the tight height restriction, with high speed turns and snappy inversions. Still comfortable despite its age. Nice theme and usually running at a high capacity.
-
Theming Location Intensity Headbanging Discomfort
Controversially not a fan of this B&M .. find the layout too 'tight' and the corners uncomfortable, always been a bit of a headbasher for me ..
-
-
Theming Intensity Layout Too short
Alton Towers' 1994 Inverted coaster deserved its legendary reputation. Its short but action-packed layout stands out with its unique element order. Each element seamlessly leads to the next one and the pacing is excellent. The extremely forceful downwards helix following the first Corkscrew is arguably the highlight of a ride devoid of any dead spots. In addition, the ride aged gracefully - Europe's first B&M it is still glossy smooth! Simply put, Nemesis is a masterpiece and the best coaster in England in my opinion.
-
Theming Location Intensity Too short
One of Britain's best rides, the 1994 classic still delivers a good ride to this day, but is a bit too short for me to rank this any higher than my number 5 spot.
-
Intensity Layout
Fantastic coaster with beautiful scenery. It is so intense! The corkscrew followed by the helix gets me every time I go in it. It is short but it doesn't feel incomplete and and therefore isn't "too short"
-
Fun Masterpiece Intensity
I saw it on pictures before being on it. I remember my face in front of it.... Jaw dropping and the I rode it and it is a perfect ride.
