Love love love this ride. It’s completely out of place at BPPB: excellent operations, silky smooth, modern, shiny. Truly quality machine. But then I am a big Mack fan. It’s great in the front with a view for the launch. It’s great in the back with extra whip, and it’s really excellent in Enzo. Not really worth the upgrade price, but glad I did it. I will ride it many more times, but will probably opt for Enzo only once in a while.

I rode this when it first opened almost 30 years ago with my Dad, so was looking forward to repeating it with my own kids… The setting is spectacular. The queue was long and slow-moving, with dummy weights in the back half of the train. I couldn’t believe our luck when they paused to replace the weights with people and we scored a back-row seat AND skipped about 3 trains because the queue was full for the front half. Off we went up the fantastic lift hill with stunning views of the moody grey Irish Sea on a sunny September morning. And here…we…go…! Halfway down the drop that horrendous kick rightwards came, which made me fear my son might fall out of the seat next to me. Necks wrenched, we clung on (I did have some partially healed rib-fractures which felt like they got a good freshening up, and that may have added to the level of discomfort, but I don’t think so). Down the rest of the drop, seemingly gathering almost no speed by modern standards. Then rattle rattle bang rattle jerk bang around an interminably long course with some non-airtime hills. I was literally gripping with all my might to minimise the discomfort and counting down the seconds until it was over. What a disappointment. Was it ever as good as I remember? Did the hill always have that kink? Did you ever get anything out of this… other than survival? Don’t bother to tick this. It’s as terrible as it is iconic. There’s talk of a retrack next year, which may make it tolerable, but I can’t see it ever providing any joy (other than a tick) due to the layout.

Infusion at BPPB is every bit as bad as people say. On this SLC, you need a ride tactic. If a ride needs a tactic, it needs a redesign or a tearing down. We rode it to tick it, with our heads jammed in to the corner, and we still came off promising never again. It looks spectacular but it’s truly awful. It’s not as bad as Hero at Flamingo, because at least this has some force/thrills, but it is more painful.

Great launch, took me by surprise. Then I went to Tron in Orlando and was amazed to see a very similar ride mechanism. Spent the whole of last season down on multiple visits, so I ended up re-riding Tron before I got to my local coaster…!

Love this ride. The head-banging is an issue. I don’t wear my glasses, because they can pinch your ears against the head padding. But you can still have a really enjoyable ride with good intensity through the first several elements. Can queue for the front, which I always do. Operations are typically terrible as with the rest of Flamingo. Overall a good experience; worlds apart from Infusion at BPPB, and nearer to a B&M inverted.

I had low expectations of flamingoland and had done no research. I was blown away to see such a proper coaster when I pulled up. Comfy restraints, good first drop and loop. Not a massive fan of the heart line, you get dangled upside down by your legs, which isn’t comfy. Maybe my legs are too long/too skinny… (I don’t even love the mososaurus roll on Velocicoaster. Shhhhhh). The bigger problem however, is the operations which are woeful.

Better then nemesis reborn, purely because you can chose front row. Underrated compared to “proper” nemesis, I simply don’t get the hype for that ride...

The intensity of the launch is fantastic, especially in the front row. The back row gives even better airtime over the top hat. Very short (about 16s)...

The intensity of the launch is fantastic, especially in the front row. The back row gives even better airtime over the top hat. Very short (about 16s) but we had the fast pass and lapped it 7 times. Incredible.
