The Comet is a classic family woodie that was one of the first at Hershey. The sign and station give off Cyclone vibes and it has a very classic look and feel to it. You get some nice drops and airtime moments throughout the ride. The layout isn’t that creative, as it has camelbacks right next to each other. It’s pretty crammed into one side of the park especially after the addition of Skyrush. One of my first coasters I’ve been on

I don't remember much but I do like the first drop and location, but there is a bit of a rattle in some places. And also based on what I have heard the new lap bar sucks now and gives you little airtime, I went on Comet when it did not have this lab bar so it might be worse now.

This is such a fun classic coaster. It has some good airtime at the start as well. Especially with the drop off the first turnaround and the hill after it. The first drop is decent as well. The other hills are a give and take on how much air you get. I miss the old buzz bars a lot but the new trains don’t ruin the ride. It was just a better overall experience with the buzz bars. Maybe its bias as I grew up on this coaster but I always have a good time on this coaster. It’s s just a classic that always gives a fun ride.

It's a fairly standard older wood coaster that has finally gotten some fresh lumber and is riding somewhat comfortably. It still needs a lot more track replacement work to bring it back to its prime. The capacity is one of the worst in the park though so maybe wait until the end of the day to ride it.

this ride might not look that intense at first. But it is a fun, intense ride. You start out with that surprisingly steep first drop and with a lap bar that did not even touch me it was even better. This ride as awesome ejector airtime moments. But the line will get pretty long. Luckly it is open for ert if you are onsite which I was credit no.50.

The location over the water and under Skyrush is definitely my favorite part, but there is also a nice helping of airtime throughout the layout. It's also quite a long ride, so you feel like you get your wait's worth by the time you hit the breaks. I am really bummed I skipped this last year when it had the buzz bars; the individual lap bar came down quite hard during my ride and I can't help but wonder how much better the single-position bar would have been. 7/10 - this is the most slanted station I have ever seen in my life; it has to be a tripping hazard for ops

By intensity I’m referring to the laterals, which is the only thing this ride has in its favor in terms of intensity. This is a family coaster. Great for kids if they’re willing to wait. I did this as soon as the park opened, so I didn’t have to wait that long. The line ended up getting over an hour, which not many rides hit during my visit. If it is an hour wait and you’re not prioritizing credits, it’s not worth it. However, for families, it’s great. The turnarounds and many other moments have good laterals, but the rest of the ride is mild and surprisingly smooth. It’s fun, although for anybody wanting a thrill it’s just not the ride to be thrilling. With that being said, it still earns 3 stars for the smooth, fun ride and the many moments of laterals.

Solid wooden roller coaster and a great one to keep around for the lineup. It had some decent drops in the back row and it was surprisingly not too rough for its age. I was very happy with the long duration the ride gave and it's also located right at the heart of the park which is great. Nothing too negative about it. It might not be the most thrilling coaster but it does the job of a mid-tier woody at this great park. 3/5 stars

I feel silly complaining about it’s rattle, since I didn’t feel it had much of one (it’s an old wooden coaster so it was bound to have a bit of one), but I can look past it because everything else about this ride is awesome! I love the new trains although I did prefer the restraint on the old ones. Still a great ride.

A staple of my childhood, The Comet has always been a steady performer and enjoyable experience for me. It was just a bit too small to get me really excited, but just big enough to get me to stand in line to give it a go a few times a summer. It was reasonably comfortable for an old, wooden. And it the first hill combined with the formidable length and the closing bunny hills all added up to a good ride from start to finish. It's allure began to fade for me as we made trips to Dorney (Hercules), Six Flags Great Adventure, Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion over the years. But it'll always hold a place in my heart as a solid coaster experience.

This ride, despite its age, is very fun. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did, and it is one that I will never pass up when I visit Hersheypark. EDIT 2022: After riding it in the back, I can confidently say that it is ROUGH and it is better to ride in the front.

However, when I got off this, I was blown away with how much fun it was! Same for Lightning Racer. For its age, this ride is butter smooth. This ride also has amazing airtime due to the lap bars, and it is also so much fun! Unlike that stupid Blue Streak, this is a wooden coaster done right. I love Comet and Lightning Racer for restoring my opinion on wooden coasters, and I CAN'T WAIT to ride stuff like Mystic Timbers or ESPECIALLY El Toro!

As a high intensity coaster enthusiast naturally I can't rank this coaster higher than storm runner or skyrush, but it is a great ride and I highly recommend!

This nearly 80 year old woodie is a ton of fun and a real classic. Some great ejector on the big drops and hills in the first half, the second half hills aren’t as strong but the laterals are really solid and the buzz bars make the whole ride so much better. I really hope this can stay around for a while longer because it’s great.

Excellent, classic woody. Sure, it rattles something fierce and jitters its way around the flat turns, but it is just fun. Excellent and surprising bursts of air over the hills. The train seems to skip along the track for much of the second half of the ride. I literally think the wheels were off the track as much as they were on it for much of the last 1000 ft. Excellent ride for sure. The fact that is over 75 years old definitely contributes to appreciation of this wonderful ride.

Comet is definitely a front row ride - it’s not just smoother up there, the airtime is also stronger in the second half. While the first half of Comet (in the front) doesn’t provide much airtime at first, there are some surprising moments of air later on, my favorite being the hill after the second turnaround - did NOT expect the ejector that was present there during my rain ride. Later in the day, my normal rides ran slightly worse than that, but were still pretty good.

This is a fun wooden coaster. The ride does give a lot of floater airtime in the ride, it gives great views of Skyrush (my favorite) and it's really smooth for it's age. It also has a pretty decent pace but the problem is that the airtime doesn't last very long and a lot of the ride seems rather forceless. I can forgive that because it is a classic ride. I do prefer other classic woodies but there is plenty to like on this one.
