Except for theming, I think Joker's Jinx is slightly better than the Flight of Fear clones. I like seeing the twisted layout with all the headchoppers, and the restraints seemed more comfortable (but still pretty bad- as usual for Premier). Otherwise the launch felt the same, and the train still goes pretty slow through the middle of the layout. Shoutout to the operators for having fun surprising riders with the launch timing.

The tilt is a freaky sensation, but what I really loved about this ride is the excellent layout that followed it. It's extremely smooth, the inversions are fun, the trains are comfortable, and the onboard audio is an unexpected plus. It would be cool to see a bigger version but Vekoma did a lot with a compact layout.

It's a bit hard to rate, but I decided to give it five stars because I've never been on any ride like it. The sense of speed is amazing and the airtime going over the top had was way better than I expected. It did break down once while I was waiting and the layout is still very basic even with the swing launch, so I think it's my 4th favorite coaster at Cedar Point, but that speaks more to the strength of the park's lineup than to the quality of this ride.

I wasn't sure how much I would like this ride, but it totally delivered. The backwards launch, upside down tophat, and boosted spike are all great and unusual elements. Plus it's surprisingly smooth for a 90s Premier coaster. Yes it's short, but that means there are no dull moments.

Yes, it's very rough, but not as violent as Screamin Eagle, and it makes up for it with an awesome layout. The low section after the first drop is really cool; it reminds me of the return run on The Voyage. The pacing is great, and while I do wish it was smoother, the roughness adds to the crazy out-of-control feeling. I feel like a hypocrite rating this so much better than Screamin Eagle, but while I wanted that ride to be over as soon as I hit the bottom of the first drop, I was laughing on The Boss when it pulled back into the station. I hope they continue retracking this instead of RMCing it.

I made a huge mistake by riding this in the back row. If there was any good airtime I didn't notice because I spent every hill bracing myself for the next valley. The jackhammering was so bad I worried that I fractured a rib halfway through. It's a shame the state this ride is in, because with it's layout I'm sure it was good once. But as it is, I'd rather ride Ninja 10 times in a row than get back on this thing.

I don't really understand the hate for this ride. Sure it has a rattle, but like Ninja, I thought it was tolerable. Getting pulled up the lift backwards is a fun buildup and the positive Gs are intense – actually a bit too intense for me. Yes this model has been cloned to death, but that's because it packs an extreme layout in a tiny footprint.

I waited longer for this than any other coaster in the park, which makes sense because it was only running one train and has three lift hills. It's alright but not as good as some other mine trains I've been on. The final drop is the only really memorable part.

It wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. Yes it's rough, but it was tolerable, and way better than some other old Vekoma/Arrow coasters. That said, the layout is just OK. Cool headchopper with the chain return though.

This was my first Bat-clone and it lived up to my expectations! While it won't be near the top of my B&M invert ranking, it's still a fun, intense ride that's held up great 30 years after opening.

I showed up to Beech Bend after a thunderstorm, and while the other two coasters were closed, they reopened Kentucky Rumbler even though there were only 15-20 guests in the park. The ride ops were also super friendly. This ride exceeded my expectations; it's a high-tier GCI with great pacing and an intense layout. It can be pretty rough, but that just fits the name. I didn't realize until I was onboard that the first turn has titan track; that's a great sign that this small park is continuing to invest in their standout attraction. There's not that much else to do in this park, especially if the water side is closed, but if you're in the area, don't miss out on your chance to ride this fun coaster.

Thunderbird the best B&M wing coaster I've ridden (beating out Gatekeeper and Rapterra). The launch is punchy, the first three elements provide sustained positive Gs, and at 10 years old it's still amazingly smooth. It could be longer, but I think it has a complete layout. It's really close between this and Legend for my second favorite in the park.

It's a fun family coaster and a good addition to the park. They did an excellent job with the theming and it's completely smooth. However, I found the forces to be milder than the other family boomerang that I've ridden.

Raven is my least favorite of the three woodies at Holiday World, but it's still a very good ride. It has great airtime and a nice setting on the lake. Unfortunately, it's quite rough, and it seems like they re-tracked the wrong section. It's also short, at least compared to the competitors in the same park. I want to give a shoutout to the ride ops; one was an enthusiast who joked with us and hyped up.the train, and they also put a second train on when the line started slightly increasing even though the park was only open for another 90 minutes.

Legend is a crazy, out-of-control ride with very intense laterals and a couple good airtime pops, including the first drop. It's also longer than I expected. It is quite rough, which holds it back a bit for me. I recommend sitting on the left side of the train so you're pressed against the outer wall rather than the seat divider during the helix. The bell they ring in the station when a train departs is also a nice touch.

Voyage likely has the most complete ride experience of any wooden coaster. I knew what to expect going in, but the return run still blew me away with how it just continues to pick up speed all the way through the station flyby. It may not be the smoothest ride, but that just adds to the intensity in my opinion. The line was pretty short while I was there and I wish I had gotten more than two rides, but I didn't have a ton of time at the park and I wanted to do everything. I'm still not sure if Voyage beats Phoenix in my ranking, but I get why most people would say it's a better ride. Put Holiday World on your bucket list if you haven't already.

Operations were great on the Sunday of opening weekend; I waited about 30 minutes and the line moved quickly. This is a beautiful coaster to look at, and I love how many vantage points there are from the midway and the queue. The queue itself is still a work in progress, but already has some good theming. I rode in the second row, and while I could see the bounciness of. the launch from off ride, I didn't notice it on ride. The launch was fun, and the first few elements had strong positive Gs. The second half had a slight rattle in the valleys, and the vest restraint really dug into my collarbones. I wish it had a longer layout and some near misses. I think I like this slightly more than Gatekeeper and slightly less than Dominator, but I'm looking forward to getting more rides on it and refining my opinion.

Wow. I've always been a Grizzly defender, but my latest rides were even better than I remembered. It felt out of control in the best way. The first drop has great airtime with a lateral kink, there are several other good airtime moments, and the final turnaround is one of the strongest lateral moments I've experienced on any coaster. To me, it has just the right level of wooden coaster rumble without being uncomfortable, but I can understand why it might be too much for some people. It also had no wait, probably in part because the entrance is so hard to find.

This was my first free spin. I went in somewhat optimistic, but came off wondering why anyone enjoys these. The first flip was intense but extremely jerky, the second flip held me face down against the restraint which was painful, and the rest of the ride did nothing. The line also moves excruciatingly slowly.

It's a pretty standard classic woodie. The only strong airtime moment is the drop off the turnaround. If they ran both sides the racing element would add a lot, but as a stand alone ride, it's just OK. Not quite as good as Racer at Kings Island.

This is definitely going to be the next removal from Kings Dominion. None of the effects work, and they've done nothing to update it to match the Jungle Expedition area. The launch into the upwards helix is intense and the indoor section is fun, but otherwise the layout is pretty forgettable.

It has a great launch and a fun layout. Unfortunately the trains are very cramped, but I did have a better experience sitting in the second row of the car. The exterior has been updated to match the Jungle Expedition themed area, but they haven't changed the theming in the queue.

This ride has several elite ejector moments, including the first drop. The helices are also fairly intense. Unfortunately it has a pretty significant rattle, and the lap bars are super uncomfortable. I still think it's the best coaster at the park.

I'm not sure what they did to this ride, but it spins more than any other spinning coaster that I've been on. It's actually almost too much spinning for me. It's kind of uncomfortable and the theming is almost nonexistent, but for what it is, this is a great ride.

Hangtime isn't my favorite force on a rollercoaster, but I'm growing to like it more, and Copperhead Strike does it so well that I really enjoyed it. And although this is definitely a hangtime-focused ride, there are great ejector moments and some decent positives. It was also very smooth and a lot longer than I expected. Unfortunately, it had the second-longest line of the day for me, which must be due to the small trains. This didn't matter too much, though, with Carowinds' fast operations. The theming is nice but I didn't really follow the narrative. The launches are just OK; they're not meant to be the focus of the ride. Overall, this is a really well-rounded ride with fun elements.

Afterburn is the most intense invert that I've been on, and I loved it. It's relentless from the surprisingly steep first drop to the whippy final corkscrew. The batwing fully delivered; I grayed out, but not for so long that it was concerning, which I had been worried about. The pacing is amplified by the dense foliage you fly through and the lack of a midcourse. I still prefer Alpengeist for its scale, whippiness, and presentation, but Afterburn is a close second.
