I've been blessed enough to have experienced Space Mountain, Space Mountain Mission 2, and now Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain. The physical ride and building itself is still as it always was: The gorgeous Jules Verne theme is timeless, the trains match perfectly, and the ride experience and capacity are excellent for a Vekoma of that era. At first I was scared that the new Star Wars theming ruined the gorgeous atmosphere of what is in my opinion the ultimate Disneyland Paris icon. But luckily, this was not the case. The soundtrack was very fitting, and the on-screen effects are a perfect fit for the 2 mid-course brake sections. The final corkscrew especially was themed nicely with these new Star Wars effects. Surprising!

The theming of this ride is its greatest pro and its greatest con. The outside rockwork as well as queue line is beautifully done, giving high expecations for the ride. But the ride proceeds not to live up to this. The rollercoaster itself is comfortable and fun with cool elements. But the videos on the screens do not distract enough from the very obvious empty warehouse you're riding through. Add to that a queue that's always at least an hour long, and becomes a disappointing experience.

A gorgeous and smooth ride with comfortable seating, awesome views, and some great airtime moments. However, for a rollercoaster of this size and caliber, the ride is mild. The final part of the ride after the midcourse brake-run is especially pointless compared to Shambhala's ferocious (and much older!) older brother in Germany.

The launch on this coaster will absolutely blow you away. The rest of the ride has a heavy rattle, which hasn't gotten better over the years. But the ride experience is almost entirely a near-miss with the surrounding cliffsides, including the "secret" inline twist. An elite one-of-a-kind experience that could really use refurbishment.

The White Whale is the most beautiful RMC by a long shot. Huge white supports hold up the bright blue track, with the nautical-themed trains absolutely hauling through the awesome layout. Seaside views on the lifthill and first drop enhance this feeling even more. The large airtime hill, as well as the in-structure experience near the end of the ride, are especially great. It also has a longer duration than some of the other RMCs.

How awesome to still experience this ride in its original form, 45 years after its opening! A punchy launch is stronger than you'd expect. Other than that, it's an alright coaster but not outstanding.

Half an hour before you even reach Nagashima Spa Land, you can spot the massive Steel Dragon on the horizon. Its astonishing structure looms over downtown Nagoya. And up close it's just as intimidating. The gigantic double-chained lifthill with the scaffold support structure takes its sweet time to tow you over the top of the massive 97m drop. A first drop that just keeps going. The helix portion halfway the ride has an eye-watering speed going through the turns. And the final bunnyhops going through multiple tunnels have lots of strong airtime. The trains are large and comfortable, making it hard to tell this ride is already 25 years old. And although operations weren't great, they were nowhere near as awful as other Japanese locations. A breathtaking ride that should definitely be on your bucket list.

Extreme. Terrifying. Intense. Exhausting. It's hard to describe this insane coaster. The first drop plummeting you to the ground face-first before getting a "push" in the back to make a full flip is unlike anything else. The absolutely massive elements pass in a blur as you go through 13 more flips, both on the track and flipping of the car itself. And just before the ride ends, the brake run catwalk appears in front of you, as if someone is holding up a cheese grater to your face. A bizarre experience start to end. However, the ride falls short in its terrible operations, awful restraints, and lack of theming to be the best of the best.

Awesome surprise! Not big or intimidating, but with an amazing theme. The forwards ride in the dark was fun, but the backwards ride suddenly having a full lightshow is a cool experience.

1, 2, THUNDER! The spectacular Thunder Dolphin towers over everything in the heart of Tokyo, and the ride experience is just as impressive. Great view...

1, 2, THUNDER! The spectacular Thunder Dolphin towers over everything in the heart of Tokyo, and the ride experience is just as impressive. Great views on the lifthill and first drop, and amazing airtime pops. A special mention to the upwards slope after the first drop and upwards slope halfway through the ride. There, Thunder Dolphin scales up the building, which almost feels surreal. The "Dead spot" of the zigzags are hardly a negative as it gives some time to enjoy the views, and it also fits nicely in the theme. Stay until sunset and you'll enjoy the trains' awesome lighting package as well. An elite ride, all around.

The drop and first hill are what you want out of a tall coaster like this, before the ride surprises you with the terrifying outside-banked turn on the second hill. The gigantic cobra roll element feels unique, and the second half of the ride is even more forceful than the first.

"An old giant" is the best way to describe this ride. The gigantic capacity and amazing layout at breakneck speed in an open field really makes you wish you could experience it back when it wasn't this bumpy and rattly. It could desperately use some renovation. Until then, the similar ride on the Spanish coast is far superior.

BATMAN! This ride is a great experience in every way. For its size, and for a theme park like this, it is simply the perfect thrill ride. An awesome preshow with multiple decorated scenes prepare you for a gorgeous "Train" station with the Batmobile waiting for you. The standing launch to start off the ride feels snappy and powerful. The small trains fly through the area with lots of interactions with the path. But the highlights are definitely the second launch, the "semi-holding" brake at the top of the tophat, and the very long zero-G section. Finally, the brake run at the end of the ride is bizarre, and especially thrilling on the front row. Even the final scene with the animatronics and lasers is fun as you pull into the station. This ride is fun, gorgeous to look at, and even more relentless than some of its bigger brothers in some aspects. It's the perfect package.

This is the real deal. "Long live the king" said Scar to Mufasa before strapping him in Stunt Fall. Front row is completely ridiculous. Go ride it (or one of the copies) as soon as you can. Go now!! Sitting in the front row to experience the full second of a forward freefall is the closest thing to skydiving right into the floor that I can imagine. You will be completely out of your seat as the ground comes at you fast. Then, after going through the humongous boomerang layout, only a few seconds of breathing remain until the most terrifying experience I can imagine. The chainlift drops you like it's your best friend betraying you after a lifetime of brotherhood. The train plunges down, leaving you floating in your loose restraint, as if you have no seat at all and the train left without you. Only the Spanish blue sky remains in front of you as you see your life flash before your eyes. Two seconds feel like an eternity. The rest of the ride is stellar and powerful, but more like gentle aftercare as you feel you just avoided a certain death. Not gonna talk about the theme, it's okay but who cares. This is one of the most extreme roller coaster experiences out there, and it's criminally underrated. It easily measures up to other "pure thrill" coasters such as the European RMC rides and older Intamin Accelerators. I will praise this ride until the day I kick the bucket - which I hope will be less thrilling than this ultra-extreme ride experience.
