While I found the harness a bit annoying, this ride is truly something special. I went to Hersheys expecting this to be 4th or 5th in the park. It was SECOND. It was fast, powerfull and relentless, though a bit short. The norwegian loop and the first drop are really great.

This rollercoaster is absolutely incredible, blowing away my expectations, which were already insanely high. Taron is defenitely a front row ride, since the speed of this coaster, blows the wind in your face. Along side the incredible village of Klugheim, that is not only stunning, but also has great food, the amazing visuals on this ride make it my number 1 coaster by far. It isn't an airtime machine, like some other coasters, but this long, smooth, beautiful, intense ride, featuring great launches, is not only worth it when visiting Germany, it's worth it wherever you are, even on other continents. This ride also has great supporting coasters, like FLY, Black Mamba and Winjas, making Phantasialand a whole experience. When visiting Phantasialand, Taron is a must ride, 100%. Lines never get too long in Phantasialand (in comparison to other European parks), so I was able to get 5 rides on my 3 day visit to the park. good luck riding Taron!
Update 21-4-2025: I still stand by my first opinion. However, I swapped this coaster in the rankings with FLY, because it does have some dead spots before the second launch. Fly hits that second launch still going insanely fast. Taron is still a must ride though.

I went to GA with my father and sister, who both were really excited to ride the talles coaster in the world, Kingda Ka. We got some great rides in it's last running year, but I knew what the true star of GA would be: El Toro. The ginormous wooden coaster, used to be dwarfed by Kingda Ka. This first drop is truly exceptional. you get flung out of your seat and you dont return until you've hit the bottom. After this, 2 of best airtime moments in history. Those camelbacks really hit, in every seat. Some people prefer front row on El Toro. I don't. I still found that those camelbacks hit really well in the back row and prefered this row because of that first drop. The rolling thunder hill is a great addition to finish the ride of. I also found the quick turns after the Rolling Thunder hill to be very fun. However, I found the coaster between the 2nd camelback and the rolling thunder hill to be a bit lackluster. This is why I prefered Wildcat's Revenge. Though, El Toro is must ride for any thrillseeker!

This is a masterpiece. The pacing and elements are truly exceptional. The airtime is out of this world and it has the 2nd best first drop I've experienced. In my time at Hersey, I experienced this ride 7 times. It was not very busy, but it was a hot summer day. This is simply my favourite ride ever (as of april 2025 still the case). I expected Skyrush to be my favourite at Hershey, but it was not. And it was not even close. I highly recommend this experience.

Black Mamba is an excellent attraction with probably my second favourite first drop (just behind Troy). Black Mamba also features X very whippy inversions. This is defenitely a back-row ride. You get the greatest amount of forces here. The line never gets long. On my 3 day visit, the line didn't exceed 20 minutes, while FLY, Taron and River Quest regularly had a 40 to even 50 minutes waiting time. Black Mamba has by far the most beautiful queue I've ever seen, being an african jungle featuring a bridge, african buildings and waterfalls. The ride also interacts with the queue a lot giving great visuals for the people waiting. This ride is defenitely a must-ride when visiting Phantasialand, especially because it's never a long wait. Even if the line were to be 30 minutes, I'd say it would still be worth it. Good luck batteling the Black Mamba!
Update 21-4-2025: Black Mamba did not change in my rankings. While I found the ride to be a bit short, I still found the first drop exeptional for an B&M invert, which I've ridden 4 of now (Great Bear, Oziris, Batman GA). Even though it has better theming and a great first drop, I still consider Oziris to be a better ride due to a better layout.

FLY is an absolutely perfect attraction: It has launches, It has some decent drops, it's forcefull, it has whippy inverions, It's absolutely stunning (this also counts for not only Rookburgh, but the whole park). This ride has very intuitive restraints. I've heard that restraints were big issues on B&M flying coasters, but these new Vekoma ones are very easy. This ride is defenitely a back-row ride, giving some great airtime in that row, which is a very unique experience while in a flying position. This ride shares the longest lines with Taron (and Chiapas/River Quest on a hot day), but it's still a must-ride when visiting Phantasialand. Lines don't get particularly long in Phantasialand, but 30 minutes for FLY is a regular. DON'T wait for the front row, it will add a whopping 100+ minutes to your waiting time, even when it looks like the front-row-line is empty. Good luck flying!
Update 21-4-2025: This ride is just a masterpiece. It's long, wild, intense and it does really make you feel like your flying. Now I have experienced Superman Ultimate Flight (GA) and it's not even a comparison. FLY is what a flying coaster could and should be. It's more intense, has more airtime and more theming. Practically perfect. I have Taron and Fly right next to eachother in my rankings and this visit to Phantasialand I did have a hard time deciding what should be first. I usd to have Taron above Fly, but after this visit, I turned them around due to Taron being a bit less well-paced then Fly.

Even on a hot day with a full train, back row (mid august 2024), Skyrush underwhelmed me. On my trip to the US, where I visited 2 parks (it was a sightseeing holiday), I experienced 4 or 5 better first drops. (Nitro, Wildcats Revenge, Nitro, Candymonium, El Toro and argualby Fahrenheit too). The lap bars didn't bother me personally, otherwise this one might have been even lower on my list. Apart form that, it still is an incredible coaster packed with airtime and intensity. Maybe when I get back here it will exceed my oppinion and I will come back on this. I experienced back and front row, I prefered the back.

While yes, I'd agree that Fury is a short ride, but this didn't dissappoint me at all! Fury is a genious ride that features a great launch, incredible hangtime and B&M like transitions. This is probably in the top 3 best Gerstlauer coasters in the world. I'd defenitely say that the backwards experience is more powerful and, personally, more fun. Forwards is fine, but you really need to experience both to make a good verdict. My personal favourite element on Fury is the spike in the back row going forwards, but every other element is better going backwards. The drops give very decent airtime and the inversions, especially the looping, give some of the best hangtime I've ever experienced. I'd recommend you to ride Fury as one of your first attractions, because lines can get quite long, but thats also a problem with other rides in the park, like Dreamcatcher and Naga Bay. Fury is defenitely a must-ride when visiting Bobbejaanland. I'd strongly advise you to ride it multiple times, but at least 1 time forwards and 1 time backwards. Also the restraints are amazing, I love the Gerstlauer infinty trains. Good luck fighting the dragon on Fury!

Goudurix has to be one of the, if not, the most undeservedly hated coaster in the whole world. Before I rode it, people warned me that it would be one of the roughest experiences ever. While yes, it's defenitely not smooth, it was not nearly as bad as people told me it would be. I'd say the only truly rough patch is the batwing, where I did experience considerable amounts of headbanging. The remaining parts of the ride weren't smooth, but I didn't get significant amounts of headbaning. I do think that they should add the Vekoma Vests to this ride. That would improve the experience, especially the batwing. It might deserve 5 stars if they do so. I rode this ride 9 times over 2 days, one of the days I rode it 7 times and I didn't get anything close to an headache or some other kind of injury. I defenitely enjoy my time on Goudurix. When you get to Parc Astérix, you should experience Goudurix and make your own oppinion. I'd say this is a must-ride when you get to the park, I'd 1000% reccomend it.

The rest of the ride is sadly super boring however and I would say I really enjoy this ride. Its ok, nothing more. You can skip this when you go to Toverland, but when the lines are short, which they normally are, you can get on and get off in 3 minutes. Congrats! You've just gotten the quickest credit of your life! It's a short ride too, but I don't really mind that.

This is a kiddie coaster, nothing really else to say about it. The first drop accually gives very good airtime in the back, that even the most hardcore of coaster enthousiasts will enjoy, but the rest of the layout is pretty dull. Like basicilly all other coasters at Bobbejaanland, Oki Doki stands beautifully at the lake in the center of the park. The lines were very short, even when I visited and most rides had a 45+ minutes waiting time. I'd defenitely marathon this if it was a walk-on over waiting 60 minutes for 1 ride on Fury. Oki Doki is an optional attraction that might be worth it if you've got very young children, that are trying to get into some coasters.

While I don't think this ride is worth the waiting time there was when I visited, I do think that Naga Bay offers people a great option to be your first spinning coaster, before riding Ride To Happines on the other side of the country. It's a solid attraction. I'll admit, I'm not a great fan of spinning coasters, because they easily make me dizzy. This ride, however, didn't. That might have something to do with me prefering this over the generally more-liked Dwervelwind at Toverland in the Netherlands. This ride is very short however and there are tons of midcourse breakruns that do really slow you down. I'd say that Naga Bay is worth it, if it's not too buisy on the day you're visiting. Otherwise getting a few more rides in on Fury is defeintely more worth it. Logically you want the credit, but that will probably be your only ride on it when you visit on a crowded day.

When reading the reviews, I got quite surprised by how this coaster is so badly perceived. No, it's not the best ride in the park, not even close. But when I visited, a friend of mine accually prefered Dream Catcher over Typhoon, making it the second best ride in the park, only behind Fury. In my list, it's a solid number 3, yet this ride isn't in the top 5 in the park if I'd only count in g-forces. I granted this ride a 3 star rating, only because of the fact that you're pretty high up, making swooping turns over a lake. I don't think this ride benefits from the swinging trains, but the lake is defenitely it's carrying factor. It's a great family coaster, that everyone will enjoy. Sure, coaster enthousiast like most people on this site might find it boring, but I see it as a relaxing, gentle ride that everyone can admire. The lines can get very long, so it might not be worth your time. This is a ride for, when you're only going for credits, you should only ride once in order to get more rides on Fury, since Fury is just better, but if you're visiting with a family, this is great, because everyone can enjoy it. Don't be surprised if your kids ask you for another ride.

Typhoon is a very decent attraction overall. It has it's weak points, like the drops, except for the first drop, were just boring, shallow and forceless. So were the pullouts. The looping, which is very round, was quite intense however and the other inversions gave great hangtime. The helix was also pretty intense. This ride is on the older side of the spectrum and you can feel that. It's defenitely not smooth and it's very easy to get stapled, like on one of my rides, where the restraint came so far down, it hurt my you know what, so be aware of that. But if you don't get stapled too badly, Typhoon is great fun. I'd say you should try to hit it up at least 1 time per visit, but if you're a common visiter of Bobbejaanland, you can defenitely skip it and ride fury a few more times. Also due to capacity, lines can get quite long, but I don't think that should effect how good a coaster is.

When Bob closed down to be replaced by Max en Moritz, it made me very sad. While I do think that Max en Moritz is very neat, it doesn't beat Bob in my rankings. I recall getting great airtime every single time I had ridden Bob. The one problem I've always had with this ride is the fact that, when you go through one of the midcourse breakruns, it really janks you to the sides of the bobsled. All and all it used to be a great ride, but not really anything special, but I'll never forget my first true rollercoaster; Bob!

Honestly, Vogelrok is a really good family ride. It's getting old, but you can't feel a single sign of that while in the trains. Don't forget to mention the amazing music this ride has. It's very well-themed too. I've ridden this ride about 400+ times in my life and it's by-far my most ridden rollercoaster. In the past, I've ridden this ride more than 20 times per day and I never got tired of it. Now, I'm a little bit older and my Vogelrok hype has declined a lot, there isn't a day in the Efteling without me riding this ride. It's a great ride for families, not the most intense for the enthousiasts. You can defenitely skip it, but when the lines are short, and often they are less than 10 minutes or even a walk on, Vogelrok is a ride worth "waiting" for. Don't forget the fact that from Ruigrijk, it's a 8 minute walk to Reizenrijk.

No no, you don't ride De Vliegende Hollander for the "rollercoaster". You ride this for the dark ride and the queue, which are both geniusly themed. De Vliegende Hollander deserves to win a golden ticket award for most beautiful queue :). You first pass through a Dutch golden age times house, then you pass through a painting. You walk through a hall with treasure, then you head up stairs and go through a bar, which views over the docks. Then you head down and board your ship in the docks, while beautiful Efteling music is playing. Then you go through a darkride section that I won't spoil for you :). You should experience it for yourself. The rollercoater portion is bland, forceless and boring, while the splashdown can deliver great splash in the summer times. Overall, it's a good execution, hence the 4,5 star rating. However, it just isn't a rollercoaster. This is a must do in the Efteling, but only in the summer, in spring and fall, when its cold and it's also opened, you can skip it for the other rides in the park, but it might still be an experience worth waiting for! It's perfect for families too.

I rode this ride back in 2018, when it was Rock'n Rollercoaster. While I do like the Avengers, I'm a big rock-music fan so I'd imagine I'd dislike the retheming, but that's just an oppinion. As far as the ride goes, this ride is the first rollercoaster I had ridden that I'd say is truly terrible, The launch is great, so is the Seaserpent-Roll. The remaining parts of the ride, it's either going around in forceless circles or it's going through the corkscrew. This corkscrew is by far the roughest elemt I've ever experienced. It beats Goudurix's batwing by a mile. If you go to Disney, you don't miss anything but pain skipping this ride and I'd reccomend you do so. For us enthousiast who really want the credit, do it once at the end of the day, when it's not so bad if you hurt your head. You can ofcourse make your own oppinion when you ride it, but as far as I can reccomend, stay away at all costs.

Pégase Express is the perfect exemple of a "perfect family coaster". Everyone in your family will enjoy their time on Pégase Express, from the harcore coaster enthousiast to 7 year old little Timmy. It offers some great airtime moments, as well as whippy transitions and decent drops. It won't blow you away, but when you're with a family, this ride is just perfect. I've ridden it 5 times during my 2 day visit to Parc Astérix and I loved it. I think the front row is the best, because of the airtime-hill after the backwards launch. That hill is absolutely mad in the front row and it competes with most elements of OzIris for best moment in the parc. I still do prefer OzIris's drop I think. Pégase Express is defenitely a must-do for anyone visiting Parc Astérix, for enthousiasts as well as families. I think this ride is perfect, since it has no flaws.

I'm a big fan of the Vekoma Vests that are used on some of the revamps they're doing (also on Python in Efteling). While I wouldnt say this ride is smooth, it's defenitely not incredibly rough. I do mind the roughness on this ride, but it's not the worst out there. When you're a true thrillseeker visiting Disney, this is a must ride for the credit. If you come back to Paris later, I would hit up Parc Astérix instead of Disney, because of their supperior rides and the prices. See you in a galaxy far far away!

Big Thunder Mountain is a Disney classic. Its a fun long ride through incredible theming. I'd consider this to be the best attraction in the park. It just good fun, nothing else to say about it. It's, ofcourse, not the most intense ride in the world, but it isn't meant to be like that. It's a true family coaster. And I love it for that. It does tend to break down often so when you visit, try and get this one as early as possible. When you visit Disneyland Paris, I think Big Thunder Mountain is a must-ride for the whole family. When you're a true thrillseeker and you've already gotten the credit, you might have more fun riding other rides in the park.

While my hopes were high, my train lost by quite a lot. The dueling is consistently great. It's also one of the smoothest wooden rides I've ever ridden. Yet it lacks that intensity that I love about woodies. Lets make a comparison to Tonnère de Zeus. This ride is very rough, but it's quite intense. Joris en de Draak is completely the opposite; it's smooth but forceless. What ride is better? If you're very sensitive for a rattle, than you would defenitely prefer Joris en de Draak. However, I can look past a rattle on a wooden ride and thats why I prefer Tonnère de Zeus. If you are in the Efteling, I would defenitely try getting on Joris en de Draak, but it is one you might be ok with skipping it on a buisy day. But if you find the time, it's 100% worh it. Ride it either in the front or the back, where the rides are defenitely the most intense, even if you'd have to wait a couple of minutes extra. (same review also on Water side)

Tonnère de Zeus is one of the most underrated rides I've ever ridden. It offers one of the fullest wooden coaster experiences in the world. It has everything: great laterals, intensity, airtime, a classic wooden rattle? you got those! I can see why some people consider Tonnère de Zeus to be rough. Personally, I can look past the roughness and admire this rides pro's. Not to be overlooked is the French crowd on this ride. The people get very hyped up when you reach the top of the lifthill. (I rode this ride 5 times over 2 days and every time, people were screaming ALEZ and ON Y VA at the top of the lifthill). It's not the greatest woody ever, its too rough for that, but if you love wooden coasters? You are sure to love Tonnère de Zeus. When you visit park Astérix, you shoud ride Tonnère de Zeus at least once. You're defenitely missing out if you don't ride it. A very underrated experience in a very underrated park.

This ride is very gracefull, but the intensity can get to you through some of the helixes as well as the bottom of the first drop. I love the modern wing-coaster first drops, because of the great hangtime it offers. This ride is just fun, that the best word to describe it. My father did get dizzy on it when we visited, but he gets dizzy very easily so that might just be him since I was completely fine, even after 7 rides, since the park was basicilly empty that day.

Baron 1898 is a dive coaster. This fact means that the ride is way too short, but I do think Efteling makes up for this pretty well, by having the 2 pre-shows. With confidence I can say that this is the best themed dive coaster in the world. The tower is verry impressive not only when you're on top of it, but also when you're looking up at it's 30 meter height. What I think is very underrated about this ride is the amazing hangtime it offers. Especially the Zero-G-Roll never dissappoints. This is one of the few rides which I think is better in the morning than in the evening, because the hangtime on the Zero-G-Roll and the Immelman is way better, probably the best in the country. The first drop is also just amazing. By far the best airtime moment in the park. Efteling did everything they could considering the plot of land Baron 1989 is on and the type of coaster. When you visit Efteling, Baron 1989 is defenitely a must ride. Try getting to Baron 1989 as the first ride of the day, when it's at it's best. You should probably try to do it more than once per day, but the lines do get very long often.

Honestly people, when you're visiting Paris for a week, instead of visiting Disney, you must visit Parc Astérix instead and this ride is one of the reasons for that. OzIris might be the best inverted coaster in the world. That's of course not for me to say, because for me, it's also the only one I've ever ridden, but a friend of mine, who has also been to the USA and England, says so. This ride is incredibly intense, It's first drop is, in the back row, by far the best moment on any rollercoaster in not just Parc Astérix, but probably the whole of France. On every single inversion, I feel like my legs are going to be ripped off by the amount of G-Forces OzIris sends my way. Every time you hit up Parc Atérix, you must ride OzIris and if you have the time, probably more than once. This ride doesnt have a weak side. I consider this ride to be perfect.

Troy might be the best wooden coaster in the world, that isn't a RMC. Troy starts off well with an amazing first drop. I'd consider this drop better than Baron 1898's, even though thats a dive coaster. After that, Troy keeps throwing more amazing ejector airtime at his riders. My personal favorite moment on the ride, tied with the first drop, is the sustained floater hill right before you pass through the station. This floater hill beats every single airtime moment I've ever done. Troy is a wooden coaster, so it has a slight rattle to it, which I can see that it might annoy some people. Personally though, I can look past that and look at the genius of Troy's long and intense layout. The ride doesn't give you a break. This ride is a must do every time you visit Toverland. If you happen to be in the Netherlands for a few weeks, i'ts defenitely worth it to visit Toverland for their rides and especially Troy!
