Overall, I like this version of Top Thrill the best. It's true that you dont quite get the same intensity of the original launch (although it's not too far off,) but what makes this version superior, IMO, is how the intensity keeps building through 3 launches!.... The 1st launch looks slow while watching it, but I was actually pleasantly surprised while riding it that it felt similar to the tunnel launch of Maverick....The rollback is real fun, and then the 2nd launch starts to feel much more intense and the rattle from this ride makes it feel a little crazy as you get launched up the spike....awesome weightlessness and..... as you drop back down you start to feel that speed, and then you hit that last launch where the intensity just keeps building and building (nearly to old Dragster levels) and with the rattle, it starts to feel out of control and almost as if the coaster may go off the rails. The whip over the top hat is much more intense and the corkscrew whips you also..... Overall, this version is just superior. The original Dragsters launch was physically more intense because you started from a dead stop to going so fast, but it always felt controlled.... TT2 gradually keeps building intensity much longer, and rolling into the last launch, already at breakneck speed with the rattle feels more out of control and thus a more extended joyful experience.
The rattle adds to the ride for me, but I could see how it could be viewed as a con for some riders.
