this is my first rmc hybrid and I first rode this in the pouring rain(5 years ago)The new texas giant is RMC¨s original,this was designed by alan schilke,this has an AMAZING layout,looking from the front,it kind of looks the same as steel vengeance, ' this is by far the best coaster I have ridden,its so smooth and is lightyears above the other coasters I really have nothing bad to say about this, this coaster changed the coasters industry forever ,we wouldn't have coasters like aireforce one or steel vengeance or zadra, this is the mild version,i can only imagine what the airtime/pacing is like on Steve/zarda/gawzi/Aireforceone This should be a bucket list coaster for every thrill seeker oh,I have decided to ride the rmcs in order(so my next credit will be Outlaw run at silver dollar city)(followed by iron rattler/medusa steel coaster) 9/10 (Xcoasters)

This thing is powerful. I rode it in the last row in the night and when the first drop came i put my hands up then down cause i was suprised and the drop is so intense. I was holding on the lap bar for my dear life cause of the powerful ejectors and dang this ride is long cause my first rmc was goliath in great america and that is super short. The tunnels were not lit up and that added to the experience cause you can not see whats coming.and i bet people rate it so low cause they didd't ride it in the front or back cause its entirely different. Amazing coaster good job shilke.Doesnt need inversions

Think this is now underrated amongst RMC's ouevre, in large part because the Gerstlauer trains are considerably better than their own. I also prefer NTG's streamlined focus to a number of their more scattershot layouts, and the more graceful airtime does make it one of their most re-rideable coasters.

New Texas Giant is fairly underrated and definitely not the worst RMC. While there are some dead hills, there are still more than plenty of moments that hit. I also found the ejector to be strong even for RMC standards on several of the moments. New Texas Giant also features one of the better RMC drops and this one turn that provides an amazing moment of sustained lateral ejector. I also love how long the ride is and that it holds its pace quite well despite what some people say. Overall New Texas Giant was a lot better than I was expecting and a solid mid tier RMC.

I'm a middle schooler and did this ride with my friends for it being a wood coaster this is by far one of my favorite rides that first drop sent adrenaline down my body and the embankment and hills are amazing and give you speed throughout the ride the ride is fairly long alowing you to enjoy every moment however toward the second half is when you hit dead spots and it doesn't give as much thrill factor as the beginning

I've been on many RMC's and had really modest expectations going into this one. I wanted to ride "the original RMC", but had read that there was a big leap between this and Iron Rattler...and without any inversions, I figured I'd be in for a good, not great ride. But New Texas Giant hit pretty hard - I was quite pleasantly surprised. It has some fantastic elements, a great first drop, the glass-smoothness common with an RMC and the layout proved to be long with fantastic pacing throughout. Its a really good looking RMC too...having a special stature and aura about it. Its not the most intense RMC, but it is a great coaster and should probably be heralded more than it gets credit for...

This is only my 3rd rmc and this shows me that even one of the lower level rmc's are just incredible. I'll highlight some elements; the first drop, even in the middle row (I got one middle row and two in the back) is crazy with ejector. The second overbank provides some surprising sideways airtime, and the two other overbanks it's sandwiched between have some good forces as well. After the midcourse seems to only increase your speed, you get flung out of your seat with the drop. The next couple airtime hills have great pace, but one with especial airtime is the banked one after the double up. The tunnels are fun, and the hills within them give meager but solid airtime. The finale steps it up, giving three more great ejector pops. The restraints, though weird, are comfortable and fit my lap well. Also, this ride is really smooth and the trains look great. Especially for RMC's first roller coaster, an amazing job done. Solid 4.5/5, but I'll give it a 5 to boost its rank a bit. (Side note - there aren't really any dead spots as far as I'm concerned.)

This is RMC’S first rollercoaster and it’s exceptional. It has several intense airtime moments, a long length, and good pacing. I love the theming of this coaster as the cars are themed to Texas. I also like the Chicken Coop which is a designated area for non riders to go. It’s like a way of saying non riders are chickens almost making fun of non riders. It’s funny! In terms of seat selection I definitely prefer the back. The front is good but there is nothing about the front that is better than the back. This ride is 150 feet tall and has a top speed of 65MPH. I love it when at the top of the lift hill there’s a sign that says wait let’s discuss this. Then the first drop is exceptional. You get very strong and sustained ejector airtime in the back car. Even the front gets good floater airtime. It’s one of the best drops on any coaster and it’s my favorite part of the ride, it’s the strongest airtime moment at Six Flags Over Texas. The step up following the first drop gives very strong ejector airtime no matter where you are sitting. I think it’s stronger in the back but it’s strong no matter where you’re sitting. Then there are 3 overbanked turns. The first one gives floater airtime throughout the whole train. The 2nd one has extremely good whip and ejector airtime on the descent if you’re in the back. The 3rd one has a terrifying head chopper and good laterals. The speed hill afterwards is the 2nd best airtime moment on New Texas Giant. Everyone gets powerful ejector airtime. The mid course break run barely slows you down at all and the drop from the mid course break run has great laterals in the back. The hill after that has weak floater airtime throughout the train. The drop following that has strong and sustained ejector airtime in the back car. You even get ejector airtime in the front. Then the titled turn after that has good ejector airtime. But unfortunately after that the ride starts to die down and there are some dead spots. The bunny hills give pops of airtime. Then you go into 3 tunnels. The hills in the tunnels don’t offer airtime unfortunately but it is cool going into them especially at night when it’s lit up. Then the final bunny hills give pops of airtime. This is overall a great ride and it’s my favorite ride at Six Flags Over Texas. It gets a rating of 9 out of 10.

I am in love with RMC, so now that I have more appreciation for how significant this revamp was for both this ride and the coaster scene in general, naturally I am a little obsessed with this coaster. The drop on New Texas Giant is still one of the best, even stacked against other RMCs. The curve to it gives you crazy ejector airtime in the back especially. The first step up gives great ejector, and while the following banked turn doesn't do too much, the second gives great lateral airtime and feels a lot more modern RMC. The third turn is overbanked and has beams surrounding it making for some great head choppers. It seems like its an obligation to mention the hill before the midcourse break run when talking about this ride, and I can tell you it’s as good as everyone says it is. I am not nearly as much of an NTG back half hater as some, but maybe more RMC rides will kill it. The back half is basically just an airtime simulator, but just weaker than the first half, barring a few instances. The step down under the lift hill is great. Some of the preceding and following hills are fun in isolation, but comparatively weak to other RMCs. Regardless, I find the three-tunnel finale to be very fun, especially thematically. There are Texas flag-colored lights flashing as you bob up and down through them, getting some brief, weak ejector. Hearing the trains roaring through the tunnels is super fun too. It just has some great energy to it. The whole coaster does, really. The ride vehicles are modeled off of 1961 Cadillac Devilles with longhorns on the front hood, the loading area has a “chicken coop” for people who chicken out of riding, and there’s a sign at the peak of the drop that says “Wait - let’s discuss this!” right before you plummet down - it’s all just very fun and very overly Texan in a charming way. I totally see why this one is the most common favorite and it’s definitely mine. The best coaster at my home park, and a historic one too.

I love this ride. I think it suffers from being compared to all the RMC's that came after it - which isn't really fair, especially since this was the first and in many ways the prototype. What it does well is offer a great ride experience with an ultra-smooth track, comfortable trains and a fantastic first drop. It doesn't have the serious ejector moments or hangtime from the zero g stalls or the snappy viper-death-decapitation rolls that are featured on the newer I-box coasters. Its just a fun ride that is in many ways the missing link from old, ultra rough woodies like Texas Giant, Colossus, and Mean Streak to the new evolution of hybrids like Iron Gwazi etc. Take it for what it is and you will love it.

This is one of the weakest RMCs with pretty weak airtime overall, but there’s a few moments in there with ejector. The drop is super good as well. I was really disappointed at first with this ride, but it grew on me. Don’t expect anything like the newer RMCs, but it has its fun moments.

While it may be lacking the insane elements of RMCs that succeed it, NTG is still a very enjoyable ride that is highly underrated. It is like the Millennium Force of RMCs. The Gerstlauer lap bars are so comfortable and are vastly superior to the RMC-made bars. The airtime is fantastic and the length is perfect. The drop off heading back towards the station in the back is one of the craziest airtime moments I have felt.

This is a good, solid RMC with really fun airtimes and ejectors. I went in with lowered expectations, considering it was RMC's first creation. Well, this exceeded my expectations. It's very smooth, and provides a nice long ride as well. The second half had a couple of little dead spots where the intensity lagged, but this is a really fun and intense ride overall.

This is a good ride. I love RMC, and this was their first prototype. That first drop is cool, and the airtime and hangtime is awesome. But when you have 9 other coasters (discounting Raptors) that are as tall as the original Texas Giant, is makes it look like a joke. Don’t want to diss it though. It also is mild, and has no inversions, but New Texas Giant is awesome. Just one suggestion, next time, don’t name your new project this: NEW (name of project).

New Texas Giant is the best roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas by a lot. It is very long and filled with airtime and great overbanks. Sure, it's weak for an RMC, but it's still an amazing ride and you shouldn't miss it. I should also add that it has the Gerstlauer RMC trains, which are great, and much better than the RMC made trains with their shin guards.

The only flaw is that some of the airtime moments didn't really do much for me and only gave some fairly weak airtime. However, for being the first RMC, this is an awesome ride

New texas giant proves that a prototype can hold it's own against later rides of the same model! This was the first rmc and it holds up as an amazing ride, this ride may be weaker than some of its counterparts but you just cant go wrong with an rmc. The airtime is solid in the front but I dare say elite in the back. The first drop is a strong pop of ejector and that will be a common theme throughout the ride. Unfortunately the repetitive over banks in place of inversion are what make me give this a 9 out of ten, still an awesome and must do at six flags over texas!

HOLY MOLY is this thing good. I like the design of the trains and how it is themed to a Cadillac. This thing is smooth too. The first drop is spectacular and gives loads of air in the back car. The First step up to the overbank is excellent and the overbank gives you good sideways zero-g. The next overbank is very whippy and gives you ejector the way through. The next overbank is coo and provides good head-choppers. The next hill is probably the best airtime moment on the ride. This hill is taken fat and gives you a good 2 and a half seconds of sustained ejector air. The midcourse brakes thankfully do nothing and the next dive is great in the back. The next 2 hills give you fantastic ejector and whip. The next 2 hills aren't as strong but provide some great floater airtime. The last set of hills is a good lifter (flo-jector airtime). The tunnels are cool and overall this ride is great and the best coaster in the park.

Some say that your first RMCs will be your favorites. In my case it's absolutely true. New Texas Giant was my first ever RMC, and as I await the opening of Iron Gwazi, it's currently my second favorite. There's so much to love with this ride. An awesome first drop, unbeatable enormous overbanks, and lots of airtime, especially in the second half. The pacing isn't balls to the wall, but not boring either, and for my taste that's perfect. But what really gives this ride its charm is that it feels more Texas than any other coaster in the state. It's big, with wooden structure and weathered steel track, and it's built over a creek. The foliage is low to the ground, but overgrown, crawling up the structure. There's a flaming oil derrick, rustic tunnels with red white and blue flashing lights, and the trains are hot rods. Most importantly, like everything else in Texas, it's BIG.

This is a ride that surpassed my expectations. I expected this to be my least favorite RMC coaster with its lack of inversions and repetitive layout. But I actually liked this more then Twisted Cyclone and Storm Chaser. The airtime is very strong and never lets up. There is some great whippy moments with a fantastic first drop and a nice finale with the two tunnels. I also like the Gerstlauer trains more then the RMC trains with their heavy restraints. I thought these trains were much more comfortable.

This ride is really smooth and provides so much airtime. But at the same time there is a lack of intensity and it has a really weak second half. The first drop whips you over if you’re in the back and the sideways airtime on the banked turns is amazing. I have only ridden two RMCs and while this is considered weaker and it is a weaker RMC it still lands in my top 5. Restraints were very comfortable and so was just the entire seat. Some inversions could’ve improved the ride’s intensity and it could have better pacing but overall it still is a re rideable coaster with great airtime.

New Texas Giant was the first RMC, and it’s not half bad! I really enjoyed the first half — the awesome first drop, step up into the series of enjoyable high-flying overbanked turns combined with the mental bunny hill before the mid-course brake run just keeps getting better and better. Unfortunately, after the mid-course New Texas Giant feels much less like an RMC and a lot more like a family ride with airtimeless hill after airtimeless hill. Only the last three or four hills just before the final brake run give airtime, and it’s floater at that. Still, New Texas Giant is very long when compared to the other two RMC’s I’ve ridden — Twisted Cyclone and Lightning Rod — but everything before the mid-course is awesome, yet everything after it... not so much.

The new Texas giant is a decent ride however is far from being the best RMC. The first drop is fantastic As no matter where you are sitting you will get a burst of Airtime. After that you go over a speed hill And then through some overbanks Which are pretty good elements. After that the ride completely loses its steam. The second half of the ride features many dead spots and Loses nearly all of its Pacing. The coaster is traveling at the speed of a mine train Or a bit slower like a family coaster. And through the second half there are barely any elements except for a few tunnels The only elements which were pretty decent in the second half are the few bunny ejectors at the end. The theming Was very confusing it had a coaster themed to a Cadillac With a chicken coop in the station. Also the trains have windows on them which I think is a bit odd considering very few coasters really do that. This RMC was the prototype And you can see why. However it is still a good ride and if you’re in the area you should definitely go on it

Riding New Texas Giant in 28 degree weather in December to me will be one of my defining moments as an enthusiast. For as long as i'll live, I will remember my Californian self shivering in the station. Anyways, lets talk about the ride. You go down the drop, get your fix of ejector airtime, and go over some nice hills. Now, on most RMC's, this would be an inversion, here, it's just a big overbank. And this a pattern you'll see over the ride unfourtanately. The lack of inversions hurts the ride. However, towards the end, you have these floater air hills through these tunnels. Aside from the start, this is the best part of the ride in my eyes. Overall, i'd consider it as of now my least favorite RMC. However, it's still awesome. Solid A.
