Aristotle once said "We cannot learn without pain". I have followed this philosophy my whole life. When I wake up in the morning and stub my toe, instead of screaming, cursing the world, I recite Aristotle's wise words. "What can I learn from this?" I can learn to be more careful when walking barefoot around the house. I can learn to wake myself up properly before getting out of bed. I can learn to wear slippers. I can learn to avoid the corners of furniture. Pain shouldn't be avoided as you can benefit from the challenge that pain gives you. It makes you question why it made you feel a certain way and without pain we would never learn. If as a child we never played with fire and suffered the consequence of a burnt hand, we'd never understand the importance of fire safety. On the plane to Poland, those words, "We cannot learn without pain", resonated louder and louder. Approaching this ride, I smiled, I wasn't scared of pain. I was wrong. This ride gave me my definition of pain. My learning experience from it was simply that I'd never ride it again.
