Wicked Cyclone is an RMC recreation of the old wooden Cyclone coaster that is one of the best rides you’ll have at a park. It is loosely themed to storm chasers and has a great twisting layout that delivers banked turns, stalls, outward hills, and a steep and thrilling first drop that dictates the pace of the entire ride. It is relentless from start to finish with many hills ejecting you from your seat. I recommend riding in the front and back seats to get the best experiences. The lap bar is all that’s needed. This ride is deserving of its praise!

This ride nails the airtime. Everything else about it is mediocre at best. If only the layout wasn't 40% highly banked turns, it might be higher on my RMC list. None of the inversions hit, and theming...

Un excellent RMC, avec des passages surprenant, des inversions bien fun et chargées en whip, et des bosses twistées qui semblent avoir été conçues sous alcool tant leur shapping est couillu. On se fait éjecter en haut à droite et à gauche sans jamais que ça soit désagréable, et le coaster possède suffisamment d'airtimes pour ne pas me laisser sur ma faim.

This is my first RMC coaster. My expectations were blown away. What can be said that hasn't already been said about this ride and the hybrid coaster model in general? The ride is relentless. From start to finish it doesn't give you a moment to catch up as it whips you through element after element. The twisting track looks like it's going to break your back but it was one of the smoothest coasters I've been on. I love the quick, steep chain lift into the steep drop. This is definitely a back row coaster. You get absolutely flung out of your seat in the back row on the first drop. The quick pops of airtime and off-banked turns make boring old wooden coaster turnarounds into fun little ejector moments. The three inversions on the ride are all butter-smooth and insanely fun— I specifically like how they all wind through the dense wooden structure of the ride. Several fun head choppers. The theming is also pretty cool on this ride. A little airplane is crashed into the side of the station, there's litter and naval equipment and boats scattered all around the ground of the coaster, the walls of the station are plastered with fake newspaper headlines of the cyclone. An old sign for the ride Goliath was a fun easter egg. Another interesting easter egg that I learned about later is the clapping the operators and some guests do as the train leaves the station (like a "stomp-stomp-clap") is actually a feature that was present on the original Cyclone. Very cool. This ride feels like it was specifically designed for people who love roller coasters. From start to finish the entire train was screaming and laughing their heads off on all four rides we got in. The only negative is that four rides left me with some bruising on my elbows. Still an easy 5-star roller coaster, and the best one I've ridden to date.

This is my favorite coaster in the world at time of writing, though that's probably because it's my only RMC. It's far from the biggest coaster at Six Flags New England, and lacks the extended lift hill truss that most later RMCs had, but it is the most furiously hyperkinetic ride at the park and really gives you the feeling of being in the hands of a madman (Alan Schilke). Every few seconds it's throwing something new at you, usually involving ejector air. There are three inversions: a long zero-G stall punching crosswise through the lift hill, and two roll inversions embedded within the support structure. The most intense moment on the ride may be the double down followed immediately by a camelback hill. Earlier reviews of Wicked Cyclone tended to complain that the third lap is slow. This has never been my experience, and comparing reviews, I suspect they did something to it around 2021 that improved the pacing. I do think that the lap bar restraints can be a bit bulky and you have to fold yourself into the car to some degree, but your upper body is still completely free to respond to this ride's crazy forces. There is some modest theming in the queue and station about a giant storm that hits New England, and the cars are themed to an anthropomorphic storm cloud. For Six Flags, it's not bad.

Les 3 inversions vous procurerons des bons hangtimes mais une fois que la bête est bien chaude, les 2 premières inversions vous pouvez oublier tellement le train passe a une vitesse dedans ! Aussi intense qu un Iron gwazy, dommage que le layout ne soit pas aussi fou que ce dernier sinon il serait beaucoup plus haut dans le classement ! Bref un monstre de puissance

This was my first serious coaster. Before Wicked Cyclone, I had ridden some mild wooden coasters (and Pandemonium), but nothing like WC, and I could not be happier that WC was my first. Made me love inversions, smoothest ride in the park, and a terrifying (but epic) drop. My friend lied to me and said this ride was “less scary than Batman” in order to get me to go on. It is NOT less scary than Batman, but in retrospect I am so glad this was my starting point. WC set my expectations high. They definitely staple you into this ride, but tbh that makes it feel safer to me- the lap bar is secure and needed for such a steep drop.

A lot of the time you are ejected from your seat because of the force of the ride. It's one of my favorites and you should really try it.

The best ride at this park and it feels so underrated. With superman being so huge people look and feel like that had to be the best ride in the park. The first time I rode this it was a huge wow. Didn't know anything about rmc or hybrids but I knew this was amazing and it shouldn't feel like this for what appears to be a tame wooden coaster frame. Inversions are awesome. Drop is awesome. Electors awesome. Really amazing ride. No down side other than lines at times.

Le layout est génial avec pleins d'éjectors de partout, des inversions super amusantes et des moments surprenants lorsqu'on ne connaît pas le layout au début. On sent quand même le côté old school du truc par la présence de certains temps morts dans 2-3 virages où il ne se passe pas grand chose mais ce n'est pas bien grave car l'ensemble reste dans le haut du panier selon moi.

Wicked Cyclone has so much going on in such a seemingly small frame. It's not in my top 5 RMC's on any standard measure, and yet, I had feels and thrills I've never experienced on any RMC (or any coaster for that matter.) The dimensions of WC are modest, but the ride seemingly goes on and on...and there isn't a dull moment that I can recall. Pacing was great, lots of elements, layout is very nicely done. Only got on it once due to weather...really want to try this one again.

Wicked Cyclone was a solid ride and what struck me the most was how much it was trying to eject me out of my seat. It just doesn’t feel anywhere near as good as other RMCs I’ve been on. I much prefer Wildcat’s Revenge, Iron Gwazi, Arie Force One, Lightning Rod, and Hakugei to this. It sort of felt a bit too forced or crazy but lacked something in terms of timing.

Some of the third lap took me out of it and left me bored, while other moments of it yanked me right back in. Amazing first half, mixed bag second half.

I have ridden this coaster more times than I can count, and Wicked Cyclone still manages to always impress me. If I could add more pros, I would. The train manages to keep the speed perfectly, it feels as if I am flying straight through the tracks. Even though the drop is pretty short (considering this is only 109 feet tall) it still packs a punch. You can easily tell that you are plummeting towards the Earth at a 78° angle, and you can feel it too. The airtime is literally death ejector. If I’m being honest, you can compare it to the airtime on El Toro, and that is saying something. The inversions on Wicked is outstanding. It’s whips you threw the track and it has a lot of hang time, it’s perfect. This coaster has a place in my heart, and always will.

After nearly a year since first riding WiCy, as of writing this, it is still my #1. It truly is a one of a kind experience from start to finish, delivering airtime that is so strong that it’s painful. Some may criticize the restraints, but they don’t bother me. I’m small enough for the lap bar to be incapable of stapling me. The shin guards aren’t even noticeable during the ride. In the station, there’s fake newspaper articles about the cyclone the ride’s about. There’s also decent thematic elements incorporated into the ride, good for Six Flags standards. First drop is spectacular. Once reaching to the top of the ride, with flashback’s lift hill giving a scale for how high you are, you get whipped right down the drop in the back. This drop is one of the best for any coaster I’ve done. The zero g stall gives great hang time. You slowly roll into the inversion, stay for a little, then gradually roll out. To finish the “turnaround”, there’s a double down providing strong sustained ejector on both drops. Then comes possibly the best element, the sustained ejector hill. If it weren’t for El Toro, this would be my favorite airtime moment of any coaster. Another “turnaround” happens, this time containing an outward-banked airtime hill. You get ejected into the supports from the side. Then there’s 2 zero g rolls each containing a hint of hangtime and some more off axis airtime hills providing more sideways airtime. The ending continues the trend of ejector, with a hill and even the break run giving airtime. Wicked Cyclone is such a gem, there aren’t even dead spots. I will continue to have this as my #1 until something can be better than this masterpiece.

SFNE being my home park, I came in knowing a decent amount about the park as I had already been there 2 times. This coaster gets me everytime and I rode around 4 times throughout the day. I would say that it is tied between 1st or 2nd in the whole park. The second half of the layout absolutely whips you around and you get so much airtime on some of the hills.
