A solid ride impulse is cool, but just kind of, there. Like it doesn't really fit in too well at knoebels nor is the ride all that creative or interesting, other than the 90 degree drop it feels generic like while designing the coaster they just tweaked a default design and called it a day. Nothing crazy just okay.

Impulse, despite being the first thrill coaster by Zierer I've ridden, didn't feel very unique at all. It's a compact multi-looper, which is something that compliments Knoebels' lineup well, but it really isn't all that great. The inversions aren't taken fast enough for intensity to come through, but the profiling is interesting so you can still kind of appreciate them. The last roll has really nice hangtime, though, which is easily the highlight of the ride. Obviously the capacity is awful. Impulse is the first ride you see when you enter the park and it's only capable of 8 riders per train, and for some reason the day I went they were sending one train empty every time despite having people in queue. 7/10 - I feel like a ride called Impulse should have a launch but hey what do I know

I’ll be honest, I was kinda scared to ride this for the first time. This was going to be my first verticle lift hill and 90 degree drop. But honestly, it wasn’t that bad, in fact, the drop was really fun. Impulse also had some hangtime to it too. But the lap bar also kinda sucked. It lowered even more while the car was going through the track due to positive g’s. Also I feel as if Impulse was too short. But still, this coaster is a really fun ride and I will be marathoning it every time we go to Knoebels.

It's kind of funny that my first vertical lift hill wasn't on a gerstlauer but on a zierer. Anyways, Impulse is quite a fun ride! The lift hill itself is pretty freaky and the drop provides decent whip. The pullout after the drop causes the lap bar to staple you, so that's unfortunate. There are several moments of high positive Gs, particularly the vertical loop. It feels quite a bit more forceful compared to normal vertical loops. All four inversions had decent hangtime, with the most being on the inline twist. What's most surprising is the helices. I almost grayed out on them! Anyways, it could be a big longer, but it's a great, modern addition to a park centered around preserving history.

One of the better eurofighter-style coasters I've ridden. The first drop is good, and there are some decent forces on the inversions and curves. Big negative - Knoebels was packed, and they were only running one train on every coaster in the park. Glad I got on this early before the line got really long.

Fun little ride, like a eurofighter with airtime. Doesn’t exactly fit the park but people wanted something that goes upside down and they got it. First drop gives scary ejector and the heartline roll gives cannibal-level hangtime. Harness is like a better version of skyrush’s but with shin pads. Make sure you prop up your harness with your legs during the ride as it will come down on you during the inversions.

Definitely an underrated ride. No wattle and the restraints are actually good. The ride is actually very intense, the inversions are fun and the 3 helixes slam you with positives. The first drop was not as good as I expected but thats the only con with the ride, definitely was just surprising how intense it was.

Impulse I find very underrated. Aside from the vibration in the final helix, the ride is smooth. The first drop is awesome, the inversions are great with some hangtime, and the layout is well paced. Plus the lap bar is as comfy as a B&M clamshell.

Impulse to me feels like a Gerstlauer eurofighter done right. Gone is the bulky OTSRs which amplify the sometimes abrupt transitions into headbanging, replaced with comfortable lap bars — comfortable, that is, aside from the first drop. On the first half of Impulse’s vertical drop, you are flung from your seat with Skyrush-esque ejector air. This caught me entirely off guard, and I was more than a little surprised. But that all comes to a close as the lap bar slams into your stomach midway through your descent. The lap bar isn’t painful, per se, as this is the only moment where it could be considered uncomfortable — but it is not exactly enjoyable when it knocks the wind out of you. The rest of Impulse is made up of enjoyable hangtime — most notably on the inline twist at the end, not unlike a Gerstlauer eurofighter’s — a pair of intense helices and an overbanked turn. All that being said, however, Impulse garners long waits throughout the entire day; it’s at the very front of Knoebels, and has a poor capacity. If you thought 3 trains of 8 people didn’t sound good, know that only one (1) is generally in service at any given time. The other two are stored via a clever switch track mechanism on the brake run. Knoebels does have efficient operations however. Overall Impulse is my 2nd favorite coaster at Knoebels (which is my favorite amusement park by the way), just behind the legendary Phoenix.
