This old dark ride/coaster is odd! It has some awesome airtime, but it is at the very end of the ride. The rest of the ride is just slow turns looking at weird theming. It also just has that smell of dust and oldness. I don't really understand the theme but oh well.

It's solid for what it is. The theming is top-notch and would be great for kids to enjoy. It's quite a lot to take in but it tells a pretty cool story of a fire and how it progresses through town. There are pronounced dead spots though. Sometimes it's just a pitch-black tunnel and takes a while to get to the new setting. Then you get some settings with both sides so you have to whip your head back and forth to ensure you catch everything. I also knock it on intensity. I know that sounds cheap to gripe about it but this should have been a dark ride. They only threw in a few dips so at that point it's pretty unnecessary and they shouldn't have made this a true roller coaster. I liked it for what it is though but I'll probably skip it next time I visit. 2.5/5 stars

This is one of those dark ride/coaster hybrids that's hard to rank. As a dark ride it's quite charming, but as a coaster it really isn't all that good, minus the first drop. It's definitely a must-ride when at Dollywood, just don't expect to be blown away. 5.5/10 - I would list air conditioning as a pro if I could

This was the first Coaster I had ridden back in 2014. Even though it is not much of a coaster, it does what it does well. The temeing shows the rides age, but the cheezeyness of it just improves the experience. If you are in the front or back rows you get a good amount of ejector air time during the three drops. Anywhere else you get some ejector, but not as much. This is more of a dark ride with thrilling elements that a coaster. Blazing Fury is a great first coaster for kids.

I may too hard on this ride, but it’s massively disappointing on every level. It’s hard to even classify this as a coaster, as there’s barely two little drops and the rest is a circular journey through a decently themed indoor set. The dark ride element does make this an enjoyable ride for the younger kids, which is why it deserves some credit.

It's an absolute classic that should stick around a while. Mystery Mine is themed better, but Blazing Fury has a dark ride niche that Mystery Mine lacks.
