Defiance is a Gerstlauer Eurofighter at Glenwood Carvens Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This park is about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Denver and 3 hours from Fort Collins. This ride had its grand opening on July 1st, 2022. This was a response to how Glenwood Caverns could open a thrill with the smallest footprint possible. Enter Gesrslaughers Eurofighter. These coasters are infamous for being cheap and taking up little to no space. You can find these at boardwalks, small parks, and Six Flags for some reason. With a height of 118 ft and speed of 56 mph, it does a lot with what it is given. I turn off with turn out the station and up the vertical lift hill. Then you get a brief great off, then u get amazing airtime off the drop. For me, that's like a top 5 airtime moment on any coaster. Then u get even more great airtime through the next element in the twisted airtime hill. As the only Eurofighter I've ridden, it's great. I wish there was one more element, maybe a helix after the inline twist. I just had an intense moment because that is what the coaster lacks: intensity. Sadly, there is no theme. Like it is called defiance, which means to oppose. How does this coaster at all reflect that? No theme at all. I'm a Disney kid, so this means something to me. I'm finna be an imagineer trust. But I do like how it plays with the location of the park. I love that the top of the lift hill overlooks the town of Glenwood Springs. The queue is nothing. Reminding of the emperor in this bitch. I hate how there isn't any space for the queue, two separate lines always for the two rows. There is no control. A bright side ig is that I do like the bins cuz I despise lockers. I can never fit my backpack in the lockers anywhere. Always too small. Another one of my problems, other than the theme, is the roughness. But anyway. U can tell they had no room for this coaster with minimal space for the queue. When the ride opened, it was immediately rough af. I think it was a problem with the cars, but I honestly have no clue. It could've also been the terrain it was built on, since it's on a mountain. Either way, it has gotten with the added pads on the restraints. The restraints are hard over-the-shoulder restraints with an attached lap bar. I hate the restraints because not only does ur head get knocked back and forth, but the lap bar crushes your thighs. This is thigh crush, not ksy rush. Why couldn’t this have just been a lap bar like other gerslaughers? Unpopular opinion, but I like the color scheme of the track with green track and brown supports. Reminds me of psycho mouse at cga. But despite my liking the track, I think the trains, color wise are a mess, and I don't know what it's tryna look like. Anyway, with all of this taken into account, I give this coaster A 5.5, WHICH IS JUST ABOVE AVERAGE FOR ME.
