    Fun

My initial impression was not great but after rerides I think this B&M Hyper is a lot of fun with a unique layout in the second half around the fountain area. It’s a great addition to Hershey just like Wildcat being a smooth and fun twisty layout, this is smooth and fun airtime machine. I still prefer the B&M hyper Goliath at SFoG for floater airtime but this is right there with a big fun layout.

    First Drop Inversions

This was intense with a wonderful first drop and strong second half. It’s an excellent coaster and RMC. I still rank Lightning Rod and ArieForce One above this but not by much, it’s incredibly smooth, not too forceful and delivers nonstop intense fun.

    Confort

This is probably the best flying coaster I’ve tried by far. It has that B&M smoothness and a huge drop that’s fun. I would much rather ride sitting down in an RMC train but this was comfortable for flying restraints.

    Airtimes

Floater airtime galore! I love this ride. Definitely the best in the park by a mile. A rare excellent B&M. Only part I didn’t like was the helix.

    Airtimes Inversions Layout

ArieForce One is a truly great roller coaster. Each element works nearly flawlessly and possibly the best of any RMC I’ve ridden yet: the first drop, the truss dive, the high speed along the ground with bunny hop, the extended zero-g roll, the overbanked sideways ejector hill, the unexpected drop right before the zero-g roll, the forceful helix, another zero-g roll. The zero-g elements are just absolutely amazing and definitely make this a world class coaster. I’d still prefer Lightning Rod because of the terrain elements and amazing finish on that one but for zero-g elements this is really setting the bar high. My favorite part was sitting in the back and watching people’s hair flying around each curve. Love love love the back of this.

I love this coaster’s layout with its old school simplicity and I definitely went for re-rides on it. The real problem is Six Flags has not maintained it so that it can run smoothly and give you great airtime moments and I heard other riders saying their body hurt afterwards. These wood coasters really need a lot of TLC to shine.

  • David Parrett

This was a lot of fun and much more comfortable to ride than the looping B&Ms but it’s just too short a layout with terribly slow operations and tiny trains. I got the credit and I would ride it again but who wants to wait forever for such a short ride?

  • David Parrett

This was a “one-and-done” ride with the crotch discomfort and everything that’s wrong with looping B&Ms generally with way too much force in a low height layout. It looks cool when you walk by it at least.

  • David Parrett

Riddler Mindbender was okay, about what you would expect for a coaster from the 70s, sort of clunky and rattly, but overall it was a fun throwback. I love when parks keep older coasters alive and running. This coaster had valley’ed the week before I rode it so I’m thankful the park got it running again.

  • David Parrett

I rode the one at Magic Mountain which has better theming and seems slightly smoother but overall it’s the same ride and it’s very solid.

  • David Parrett

Twisted Cyclone is a good solid fun RMC hybrid. It’s great and all but it just doesn’t do much for me other than be a solid fun coaster, kind of like an average B&M. I would compare it to Twisted Timbers at KD. For a much more inspired RMC, just drive a few minutes and ride ArieForce One.

    Vibrations Baffes

Wow, this ride is one you know just looking at the track that you need to be very prepared for janky rough transitions and turns. Those turns caused the guy sitting next to me to have his head smash into my shoulder, poor guy. I rode very defensively and survived but yikes!

    Fun

This was my favorite ride at Dollywood. It’s an Arrow from 1999 just before they got sold and it’s by far the best Arrow I’ve ridden. It’s got some of that Arrow jerkiness but mostly it’s smooth and has this unbelievably amazing first drop in the dark through a tunnel immediately into this massive 110 feet tall vertical loop. My only complaint is I wish it were longer. Still can’t believe I’m saying that about an Arrow coaster. I grew up riding an Arrow called Viper at Darien Lake in the 80s and it has these sort of old school vertical loops. This one just gives me that old school Arrow loop stuff and does it in a compelling and smooth way. I wish Arrow were still making these today.

    First Drop Fluidité Hangtime

Hakugei is a lot of fun with 3 different zero-g hang-time moments that are bliss. Lots of airtime and it looks beautiful with the white supports and blue track themed to a whale. I have to place it below Dollywood’s Lightning Rod because of that launched hill and quad down airtime but Hakugei is more about rolling you and floating you than shoving you upwards.

    Fun

I caught this right when they opened and it was the perfect introduction to Magic Mountain for me. Just a fun blast, and I love that they let you ride the inside and outside of the big loop.

    First Drop Longueur Inconfort

X2 actually blew me away, even with all the coasters I’ve ridden, this thing is the most intense of all coasters. It’s more intense than I305, more than El Toro or Kingda Ka. It’s just insane. Unlike a free spin coaster, I felt like my ground point of reference was taken away while the ride was intentionally showing me or not showing me the next drop. My problem with this is that it was so incredibly rough, I felt like a rag doll being beaten with a baseball bat. My legs were flailing all over and my head hurt so bad. I went back the next morning and got another ride and maybe it was running smoother in the morning because I felt no discomfort the 2nd time and it was just as intense.

  • David Parrett

    Confort

A smooth and good crowd pleasing suspended looping B&M. I had the sensation that I was flying the way it moved gracefully.

  • David Parrett

    Fun

It’s a fun looping coaster with a vertical lift chain hill that was quite the rush and left everyone with smiles afterwards.

  • David Parrett

The wait was so long and the obnoxious guests in line soured my mood to such a degree I was just happy when it was over. Is the coaster good? Maybe on a slow day.

  • David Parrett

    Confort Fun

I’ve never really truly liked a flying coaster until Tatsu. It was surprisingly comfortable, I never felt nauseous like the restraints were trying to make me lose my lunch the way they do on other flyers. It had a smooth and fun start but that giant Immelmann inversion was out of this world insane. For that one maneuver I have to give this 5 stars. Another thing it has going for it is that it uses the hillside terrain and surrounding forest so well.

  • David Parrett

    Théma

I was lucky it was running and got a ride on it. I love the old school roar of its track and how long it takes to get up to speed. It’s such a throw back to an earlier coaster era with all the newer launch coasters but I love it for that reason that it’s a piece of history and looks beautiful towering above everything. I think older rides like this that have been surpassed technologically are valuable to keep around and remind us how much things have changed.

  • David Parrett

    Fun

It was a typical Arrow mine train ride but does have the hillside terrain working for it. It was a lot of fun and a good family ride as these mine trains usually are.

  • David Parrett

    Intensité

The last remaining Arrow mega looper was just as intense as everyone says. You get those jarring transitions and sweet sweet teardrop vertical loops. Do yourself a favor and ride it in the front, not the back, since the front is much more smooth on this ride. The back row tried to kill me. The feeling I get is that you shouldn’t really be going 70 mph through this course and these elements. It’s a flawed ride but I love it so much and hope they keep it running for a long time.

  • David Parrett

    Situation

The hillside location makes this a wonderful terrain coaster and of course the fact it is suspended swinging cars from Arrow makes it fairly unique since a lot of these types of coasters have been removed from parks. I hope Ninja with its black train cars stays around a lot longer.

  • David Parrett

    Chef d'oeuvre

This ride is so much fun. I absolutely love that they have a sign over the track right before the inversion warning you that strange things are about to happen and you need to keep your head back for their one inversion. It really made me laugh. It’s a wonderful family coaster and I hope it stays around a lot longer.

  • David Parrett

    Intensité

Yet another B&M that gave me a headache and made me glad when it was over.

  • David Parrett

    Vitesse Intensité

I feel like this might be the first wooden coaster I’ve ridden that seems to be all about speed and just making you feel like the train is going way too fast for the track and it’s going to derail at any moment. It’s a wonderful wooden coaster and I wish there were more like it. It’s not going to give you airtime and lateral forces but it’s amazing with its intensity and being out of control.

  • David Parrett

    Fluidité

This is a good, stand-up B&M looper. It didn’t hurt and it was fun. It did put a lot of downward pressure on my legs but I remember how awful Mantis was with the head-banging and Riddler’s Revenge was super smooth with no head-banging.

  • David Parrett

    First Drop

The first drop was really good, the first half really, but the second half was awkward, especially the weird hanging sideways out of the mid-course brakes. It didn’t really leave much impression.

  • David Parrett

    Launch

This is so much better and more refined than previous Premier coasters. I usually just ride a Premier to get it out of the way, like the Flight of Fear clones or the Tempesto clones. This ride was just the right balance of intensity and fun while not being too forceful. If Premier can make this ride then I have a lot more respect for them. If I didn’t know better I would think Intamin made this.
