Inversions Launch Layout Headbanging

Update Feb. 2023: So I rode Avengers Assemble: Flight Force again yesterday. I came in talking trash about this coaster expecting the worst as my last rides were pretty lackluster... and I actually enjoyed it the two times I went on it. The trasitions were pretty good with no huge headbanging issues and while the ride still had a slight rattle it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. The launch is pretty great, the sea serpent element was intense and some of the turns actually offered some positive Gs as well. I still don't like the new theming as much as the old one but I'm getting used to it, so I'm not quite as mad as I was before. I don't know what happened in November, I must just have caught it on a bad day, overall I'm way more impressed by it this time, and I had some genuine good time on it. I'm giving it the 4 stars that I would have given it back when it was themed to Aerosmith. Update July 2023: I rode this three times today in rows 6, 7 and 5. There were some good things and some bad things. First with the good things: the ride had short wait times even during busy hours. It seems as though Disney listened to the feedback and added some stars and more screens during the layout which is much appreciated. The ride still has a good airtime pop near the end. Now on to the bad things: The pre-show, while it looks great, breaks the line. There were tons of people accumulating in the short line after it which made it impossible for the ops to close the door. Not a deal breaker but pretty immersion breaking for first time riders. The line after that pre-show also seemed to move at a snail's pace. Before my third ride, I had to wait for a show to end outdoors. I don't know about you but I think doing that show right in front of a ride's entrance seems like a massive design flaw. This show was also recurrent and took place every 30 minutes it seems. On that same third ride (unlucky ride I guess), the left speaker crackled and it seems to be a train-wide issue. The layout itself has some intense moments and the rattle is tolerable but it has some dead spots (at least they're not in complete darkness now). I am not changing my rating as there were some improvements from last time but also some problems. Update November 2022 [OUTDATED]: This to me was the worst coaster at the whole resort, it is rough, like the rattle felt way more pronounced than last last time and the headbanging... GOOD GOD, it was WORSE than on GOUDURIX, that's how bad it was. Heck, I even heard people say it was rough in Spiderman's queue. The theme is terrible, I can not wrap my head around how stupid it is, the Aerosmith theme fit this ride a lot better plus when you see what an amazing job Disney did with Guardians of the Galaxy, it is even more of a letdown. The ride felt faster than last time and the brakeruns didn't slow the train down so there aren't much dead spots but the launch felt forceless while even 3 months ago it was great. I mean Space Mountain's launch was better than this one and it's supposed to be the weaker one... I can not give this ride more than a 3/5 in its current state, it's just sad and I'm now of the opinion that this should get new trains as soon as possible. Just ride the other coasters of the resort like Crush's Coaster, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Indiana Jones, all of those are more enjoyable than whatever this is... Orginal review [OUTDATED]: This coaster, when it was known as Rock’n’roller coaster starring Aerosmith would have gotten 4 stars. In terms of layout, it’s good, while I know it is a controversial opinion, I personally like spaghetti bowl coasters. I love the launch, and I find the sea serpent quite intense. The ride does have some dead spots with the brake runs but the corkscrew always catches me off guard and the final hill gives some airtime. The first time I rode it in 2017 it was smooth-ish and it felt the same after my re-rides in August 2019. I rode it again this year after its conversion as Avengers Assemble Flight Force and I have to say while the building looks nice from the outside, the queue was okay, the animatronic was good but it all goes down hill from there. The countdown screens are just TVs and the ride is mostly in complete darkness with just a few projections of Iron Man and Captain Marvel through the ride + the ride now has a nasty rattle. Thankfully it is still mostly free of headbanging but it is also how I noticed the rattle. Overall the 3 year retheme is lazy and looks cheap when you compare it to the extremely detailed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, add to that the nasty rattle and this is what brings it down to 3 stars for me… They at least could have gotten the new vest Vekoma trains.

Inversions Rattle Harness Discomfort

I rode this in June 2023. I liked the IronMan animatronic in the queue line, wish he spoke in English too although of course they couldn't get RDJ to do the voice most likely so I understand. I don't like that you have to take your bags on ride for this, no reason they can't have a trolley system for bags or shelving like other parks do. Having ridden it when it was Rockin Rollercoaster with Aerosmith but many many years ago, I remember liking it. However I really did not enjoy this coaster. Rough and painful and I hated the restraints, super uncomfortable on my shoulders and even some headbanging. The launch is ok as are the inversions but the themeing on the ride isn't amazing. I came off pretty disappointed and in pain, so didn't like it.

Theming Inversions Intensity Headbanging

It's Rock n' Roller Coaster with a slick Avengers theme. Fix the rattle or add some soft vest restraints, though, geez.

Theming Dead spots

The ride itself (both as Rock 'n Rollercoaster as its current iteration) are decent. The first launch and subsequent inversions are snappy and exciting, and the rest of the ride is fairly tame compared to it. But, the ride recieved a significant downgrade with its metamorphosis away from Rock 'n Rollercoaster. The layout has a lot of dead spots, which were previously filled in very nicely by the rock music and swirling disco lights. But instead of Iron Man or Captain Marvel flying alongside you or having other effects to look at, there is just... Darkness! A missed chance for an aging coaster like this, and it's hard to give this a better rating than it's outdoors counterpart at Walibi Holland. Hoping Disney will invest in more effects along the way.

Fun Harness

i went here with my sisters dance school for a parade they do each year it was my first time meeting and interacting with the dance school and it was a fun experience. we enjoyed going around the 2 parks for a couple days and would definitely be joining them next year but will not be going on this ride. It was our last ride before we left and were in a queue for about 30 minuets witch wasn't to bad with a group of 8. after getting on the ride we where sitting on the back 2 carriages and had a 5 minuet wait after the harnesses were double checked and mw and the girl In front of me were saying something was wrong (the day before we where about to get onto hyperspace mountain and the ride stopped in the middle of the track just before we got on) but then we started moving and we thought it might be ok but as we went past the first loop i seen something fly up in front of me and after a second i had realised it was my friends harness luckily they grabbed it and pulled it back down before anything could happed but if this was a younger child who knows what would of happened. Disney please fix this.

Capacity Fun

The old version was fantastic, truly a blast. I hope they haven't messed it up too much but I'm afraid they have. These 4.5/5 are for the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster

Launch Headbanging Disappointing! Discomfort

The start was amazing but the seats where really uncomfortable and it smashes your head about really bad. Most uncomfortable roller coaster I have ever been on!

Really fun. That launch is amazing and so is the theming. But those harnesses suck. The ride is quite rough and there is a lot of head banging.

I had a very nice ride. Only discomforting thing form me were the seats. I felt like it was to loose or if I pushed 1 further it was to tight. Besides that it was a lot of fun!!

I'm not sure whether I was just positioned wrong in my seat but I found this ride incredibly rough to the point where I have 2 little bruises on my shoulders from the restraints. My friend who doesn't ride coasters often was left with a headache for the rest of the day (I was ok but then I'm used to it). The corkscrew was actually painful. Queue line theming and preshow was good but theming on the coaster I feel was lacking- barely noticed it at all. Enjoyed the launch and sea serpent but other than that the layout is just a bit boring. Could maybe do with using the newer vekoma vest restraints like Hyperspace.

Review for Rock N Rollercoaster: Just an awesome experience with the Aerosmith tunes and fantastic vibes inside. I had it ranked at 37 and from what I have seen about the retheme it won't ever get close to that position again.

Intensity Duration Headbanging Inversions Discomfort

I rode this ride back in 2018, when it was Rock'n Rollercoaster. While I do like the Avengers, I'm a big rock-music fan so I'd imagine I'd dislike the retheming, but that's just an oppinion. As far as the ride goes, this ride is the first rollercoaster I had ridden that I'd say is truly terrible, The launch is great, so is the Seaserpent-Roll. The remaining parts of the ride, it's either going around in forceless circles or it's going through the corkscrew. This corkscrew is by far the roughest elemt I've ever experienced. It beats Goudurix's batwing by a mile. If you go to Disney, you don't miss anything but pain skipping this ride and I'd reccomend you do so. For us enthousiast who really want the credit, do it once at the end of the day, when it's not so bad if you hurt your head. You can ofcourse make your own oppinion when you ride it, but as far as I can reccomend, stay away at all costs.

Launch Fun Dead spots

Launching into darkness is super fun, the Sea Serpent Roll aswell is another highlight. I got a trimless ride - or atleast a ride with very little trims - and it carried a decent speed all the way through, even with a surprise pop of floater in the back which was fun.

Comfort Fun

By far the better of the 2 RNRCs with the light show in the gravity building but definitely still a very boring layout with very little going for it.

I love this ride. I ran there first thing when the park opened. I had 5 walk on rides in a row. I love the launch and the theming is great. I love how you have a soundtrack to listen to. The queue is great and it is a great coaster.

Rattle

Judders and rattley. The near identical ride in Florida is considerably smoother, and better for it. Desperately needs an overhaul and possibly the same trains that DLP's Space Mountain picked up.
