This was a fine ride. A fun, smooth hanging coaster that has some great drops and takes a lot of tight turns. On a less smooth coaster or one with less comfortable harnesses, this type of layout could be a problem. However, instead you have a nice snack of a coaster that leaves you wanting more due to an unfortunately low runtime.

This coaster is pretty long and fairly smooth. It has multiple launches that will send you up large airtime hills and around sharp curves. The speed of this coaster is definitely a strength, and you definitely feel some strong G forces. The layout is a great display of restraint. They could have put inverted loops and corkscrews throughout the track, but they intentionally decided not to. Without these features, it manages to provide thrills and avoid scaring off inversion-averse passengers.

I expected a high-intensity ride, and Thunderhead certainly delivered. Aside from the raw speed, the layout was solid. The drops, twists, and turns were pretty great. Unfortunately, among its wooden compatriots, this coaster does bot stand out for its smoothness or comfort. I would describe it as a strong rattle, not a violent shake, but it was definitely enough to shake me up and negatively impact my enjoyment. Of course, I’m sure some would like that and see it as a feature instead of a bug.
