This was way more fun than I would expect from a Six Flags because they actually keep it running well and very smooth. I love the layout with lots of airtime and some really fun laterals. It helps that it rarely gets much of a line.

X2 actually blew me away, even with all the coasters I’ve ridden, this thing is the most intense of all coasters. It’s more intense than I305, more than El Toro or Kingda Ka. It’s just insane. Unlike a free spin coaster, I felt like my ground point of reference was taken away while the ride was intentionally showing me or not showing me the next drop. My problem with this is that it was so incredibly rough, I felt like a rag doll being beaten with a baseball bat. My legs were flailing all over and my head hurt so bad. I went back the next morning and got another ride and maybe it was running smoother in the morning because I felt no discomfort the 2nd time and it was just as intense.

Hakugei is a lot of fun with 3 different zero-g hang-time moments that are bliss. Lots of airtime and it looks beautiful with the white supports and blue track themed to a whale. I have to place it below Dollywood’s Lightning Rod because of that launched hill and quad down airtime but Hakugei is more about rolling you and floating you than shoving you upwards.

Zeus might be the best coaster at the park for just providing a reasonable level of excitement and airtime. It sort of hit the sweet spot for me. I just wish it was slightly more smooth but overall that airtime just makes it so much fun.

Hades 360 is a nearly perfect high intensity wooden coaster. The nearest it comes for me is when I first rode El Toro when it opened in terms of the intensity. It has so many unique design elements such as a crazy pitch black tunnel sequence of turns at breakneck speed, a corkscrew wooden track inversion, and so many other unique touches like even the starting drop out of the station before the lift hill. I rode it twice and the first time I thought it had low roughness but the second time knocked my head around and made me dizzy so it’s borderline and varies. At least the park re-tracked the end and so hopefully the rest keeps getting new track every season.

This old Arrow is relatively smooth and what is most noticeable is its super fast pace for what seems like a mine train with a big first drop. It mostly zooms around at ground level in figure eights and is not very long but it’s also enjoyable and worth a re-ride or two.

I absolutely love Intamins of this early 2000s vintage and this one is stylish, smooth, powerful, and fun. Just look at the car design and track and supports, it’s like coaster fine art. I imagine the Intamin design team sipping expensive wines and debating various classic architectural details as the attention to detail is impeccable. As a roller coaster, it’s just a U-shape swing launch with a fun brake on one end but it’s executed to perfection. It’s a shame Cedar Point chose to remove their larger version of this same model in 2021 and also a shame more of these haven’t been installed. Instead we get endless dive coasters.

This is probably the most tame hyper coaster I’ve ever ridden. It has a shallow first drop and gentle curves and hills, even compared to the other Morgan coasters. It’s great for families and the general public but not going to wow any enthusiasts.

Renegade is a really good GCI because of its high intensity and airtime with low pain/roughness and re-ride ability. I think it’s a notch below Mystic Timbers, Thunderhead, and Texas Stingray but not by much. The really unique element is the S-bend first drop. I haven’t seen that on any other coaster.

Sitting in the front of a car seems to help with the roughness and my ride near the front of the train gave lots of airtime so I really enjoyed this one. My second ride in the back of a car was too rough though so it does matter which seat you ride in.

I wanted to like this ride but i found I had to ride it extremely defensively and anticipate and move my body through each turn to avoid discomfort. It seems like an odd complaint but it’s really too whippy and intense for such a modest seemingly family wood coaster, more so even than Intimidator 305/Pantherian at my home park. I’m sure the original Zambezi was a much more moderate thrill level than this so it seems like a miscalculation by the designer/park.

This is one of the rougher Morgans out there, especially those airtime or ejector hills at the end and the sudden jerks near the final brake run. The ride shines in its first half with lots of speed and weightlessness in those huge drops. I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I should unfortunately. I found Steel Eel and Steel Force a lot easier to re-ride and of course Phantom’s Revenge is a favorite.
