I enjoyed this one and'll be on the side of "sad to see it go" near the end of the year. Was it an elite coaster? Not by any means, I would put at least three different coasters from Islands of Adventure easily over this. But the gimmick of having your radio station while the ride progressed is so cool. The music intro timed perfectly with the first drop so I"'m not sure how often that happens. The duration of the ride feels fairly long compared to most coasters. It has solid forces and doesn't induce pain like some other reviews have stated. I think the big con is pacing issues. I'm okay with brake runs occurring during coaster runs but this seemed to have an excessive amount of them. None of the runs completely killed the momentum but having to start and slow down constantly was a bit of an annoyance. Hope they replace it with something awesome but I will miss it for sure and I'm sad my entire 2nd day got rained out on this one specifically (only one run my entire trip). 3.5/5 stars

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is a compact and unique ride experience that lets you choose your own music track to listen to as you complete the layout. You used to have over 30 different songs to choose from ranging from rock to pop to rap however I hear they’ve limited it to 3-5. The lift hill goes straight up as you go through the rings and hit that first drop into the classic dive loop. The layout is very unique as it even goes through one of the buildings! The brake section does slow it down a bit on the back half but the turns and twists are still fun. The setting next to the stage with palm trees makes this better too.

This thing tracks about like a shopping cart that is missing a wheel. It jerks and bangs its way throughout the entire layout, slamming my brain around inside my skull. While seemingly tolerable for a ride or 2, it seeds a migraine for me that then ruins the rest of my day. If it was smoother, it could be *much* better than it is. The non-inverting loop is an incredible element, there are bursts of strong airtime throughout the layout, and I enjoyed listening to Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones (song 122 on the secret menu) while riding a roller coaster much more than I thought I would (but you will need to use the secret menu though because all the regular choices suck). This could easily be 4 or 4.5 stars if it didn't hurt me. Despite its impending closure being the reason I went to Florida when I did, this was the worst coaster I experienced during that trip. I can't say I'll miss it.

Most of it isn't too intense or forceful, but there are some nice floater pops sprinkled throughout, the non-inverting loop giving a nice sustained float and zip, and the turnaround is a good bit intense as well. The on-board music though, adds so much to the ride, my favorites were Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk, and Don't Phunk with My Heart as well as Pump It both by Black Eyed Peas (I'm also really eager to do Darude Sandstorm on a coaster since the playlist change, but I don't think I'm getting back before it closes)! People also like to complain about the mid-courses, but they don't bother me, as you get some nice floater coming in and out of them, although it's not ejector like I hear some people saying! I also found the roughness overblown, it didn't bother me at all. All that said, R.I.P. Ride Rockit :( you'll be missed...

at first I was pretty underwhelmed by this ride and thought it was dull. then I went back later in the day and got a magical ride on it. ejector into every single brake run and great floater on the non inverting loop, and the rattle wasn't even that bad. found the ride layout to be quite fun tbh, even if the break runs are a bit questionable. though I wouldn't be to bothered to see it removed, it is a good ride that I think is overrated by many and needs that one redemption ride like I had. also the music is cool

This ride receives too much hate and I won't stand for that. The vertical lift is great because it adds on to the suspensefulness as your music builds and you reach your way to the top. The first drop is pretty fun and I got some decent floater in the back row. This ride does have a lot of mid course brake runs so that's one thing you can hate about this ride. The pacing is okay but it's very enjoyable overall. (Just make sure you choose a good song)

It’s a good ride and fun. It’s a little outdated and not as smooth as new coasters but it’s doesn’t beat you up. It’s worth it as long as the wait it 30 -40 mins or less. It’s even more enjoyable when you use the secret song list. If you don’t know how, all you do is hold the rip ride rocket logo for 10 minutes then you put a in a 3 digit code which coordinates with a song list you can google.

Je m'attendais à pire au final ce coaster est plutôt fun, notamment grâce la musique que l'on peut choisir. Le layout n'a rien d'incroyable mais contient tout de même quelques airtimes, surtout au niveau des mids-breaks (qui font office de repos ou temps morts, à voir). Le lift vertical est cool, assez impressionnant grâce à la lap bar très étrange qui supporte l'écran pour choisir la musique. Le débit n'est pas mauvais, grâce aux trains qui partent très régulièrement et à la station à embarquement continu. Maintenant le gros point noir est les vibrations extrêmement présentes tout au long du coaster. Ça ne fait pas mal non plus mais ça gâche quand même bien le ride. Enfin la théma est quasiment absente, ce qui n'est pas digne d'Universal.

Probably one of the roughest steel coaster's I've ridden. It's one of the few large scale coasters that I would avoid going on. Maybe it was the row that I was sitting in that was especially rough because another friend of mine had no problem with roughness on the same night and ranks this coaster much higher than I. But I'm not here to give his review. It seems to have a good layout that would pull good forces, but the problem is that roughness. The nonstop shaking of the car was quite a pain, and I came off that ride with sore arms and neck. Overall, it has great potential, but is ruined by roughness.

This is a pretty solid coaster. If you don’t know already please look up how to get the secret songs because they make the ride a thousand times better. The first drop is really fun and you get a lot of unexpected air time throughout on the brake runs, however, I think the helix at the end is definitely my least favorite part. I think this ride’s main problem is that it is getting too old. The theming is outdated and it’s definitely not as smooth as it used to be. Universal is probably replacing it sometime after they open epic universe which I’m definitely sad about but it has to go :(

Probably one of the most underrated roller coasters i've ever been on. Great first drop and although the trim brakes were unnecessary and slowed the ride down a bit, but the drops after them provided some great airtime. I absolutely love the non-inverted loop, the helixes, and the turn over the queue is fun af and the bunny hops near the end are some fun airtime. Everyone says this ride is rattly and to rough, but other than the back seat, I barely even noticed the rattle and it wasn't bad at all! This is just an all around fun ride and being able to choose music to listen to on it makes it even better. My only complaint would be the queue theming with those annoying cartoons. Other than that, love it!

Perhaps my biggest surprise to date: this ride is incredible! My personal favorite of the current Universal Florida parks coasters (yes, I do rate it above VelociCoaster, sue me). Just loads of fun, pairs fantastically with Welcome to the Black Parade by MCR. The downsides were the lack of song choices when I went (only one per category) and staring into the sun on that terrifying lift, neither of which I can fault enough to dock it any points. I will dock half a star for the brake runs, not because they slow the ride down, but because you absolutely slam into them.

The continuously moving station is BRILLIANT, and it would make for a really cool addition for an otherwise good coaster (like Hagrid’s motorbike coaster) Unfortunately, the continuously moving station is one of the only things I liked about Rockit. The vertical lift was fun, really added tension. The first drop, although somewhat underwhelming, was quite fun. However, after that it was just horrible. I couldn’t focus on my ride because I was too busy trying not to get a concussion. The ride is extremely jarring, with a lot of rattle and shaking. The mid course brake runs (there are four of them) kill a lot of the momentum, but the ride still seems excessively fast on the helix before the second MCBR. I almost blacked out. The music selection thing was a neat feature, although the song options are quite limited. The layout is cool, if they could fix the rattle it would be a truly fun ride. But it’s just too shaky for me. If you’re alright with shaky coasters, then I recommend Rockit, but if not then I’d suggest skipping it.

J'ai adoré rider Rockit pour plusieurs raisons. Déjà, son côté old school vis-à-vis du reste du parc, ensuite son côté effrayant avec le lift à la verticale. La bonne surprise a été de découvrir la petite console pour sélectionner son ambiance musicale, je ne m'attendais pas à pouvoir faire le parcours avec un bon vieux Limp Bizkit. Seul bémol, il tape un peu. A côté de çà le parcours n'est pas ennuyeux, même s'il n'est pas à la hauteur de ce qu'on peut faire de plus récent. Mais bon faut pas non plus cracher dans la soupe, il date déjà de 2009, et quand on est là-bas il y a largement de quoi faire. Il trouve tout-à-fait sa place dans cette variété de coasters. En bref, je suis sortie de là avec une banane d'enfer et n'ai pas pu m'empêcher de le faire 3 fois sur les 2 jours.

The sections after the first mid-course break run (I think there were 5 of them) almost feel like they are only designed as filler to get you back to the station. There are a few cool parts, like the hole through the building and section over the path, but it's mostly mild banks and airtime. The music selection is supposed to be one of the leading aspects of the ride, but it is currently very limited. Only one song to each of 5 genres? Doesn't Universal own tons of music to pick from? If they expand the list with some of their popular titles (maybe a song of the week section or something, since it's a music-themed coaster), I would like rate it higher.

I think this is a ride where you have to look past some of the discomfort and appreciate the forces. Yes, it has a nasty rattle, especially in the back, but since there isn't really anything to headbang against it can absolutely be tolerated. In my opinion, this coaster actually has both the single strongest moment of airtime and moment of positives in the entire resort. If you are sitting in the front row those hops into the brake runs absolutely send you, even if they aren't sustained for long at all. Additionally, the helix near the far side of the layout almost made me blackout on my rides. I get that it can be uncomfortable, but I can set that aside for a ride with such powerful elements that lets me blast "Free Bird" the whole time. 8/10 - this is the only ride that can say its brake runs are its best elements

Ok, so this is like 2 reviews in one as where you sit has a BIG impact on how this coaster rides. If you sit towards the back, well it's rough, not overly enjoyable and disappointing. HOWEVER, sit towards the front (especially the front row) and this is arguably the most underrated coaster in the world! Chose your music, ride vertical up that iconic chain lift and just prepare for the music to amplify the enjoyment of a great ride. That non inverted loop to start with is epic, with some great airtime to be had in the middle sections too and it's super smooth. Honestly, I've never ridden a ride so different from front to back.
