If someone were to ask me what the most disappointing coaster I have ever ridden is, it would be this ride. When I rode this for the first time back in 2018 I thought it had great airtime but it was very rough. When I went back to Michigan's Adventure in 2024 I though it was better but not as good as people make this ride out to be online. I might be in the minority for my opinion but that's how I feel about this ride.

Shivering Timbers is so fun. It might be my favorite wooden coaster. It's an awesome airtime machine with great drops. I rode it like 20 times in 2 days and was laughing hysterically almost every time...

I rode it like 20 times in 2 days and was laughing hysterically almost every time. Sometimes it feels like you're gonna fly right off the tracks, but to me that adds to the fun and sense of speed.

I've loved roller coasters since I was tall enough to ride them. That's like almost 40 years of loving and riding any and all roller coasters I could find from Disney land to Disney world...from mall parking lot carnivals to state/ county fairs, 6 flags and everything in between. This is the ONLY coaster I have hated. We rode every ride in the park then rode shivering timbers before riding the others a second time. Well, it ended up being our last ride. All of us including our 13 year old had to leave and went straight home after this one. It isnt scary. It doesn't do anything more than most wooden coasters by way of thrill..what it does do, though, is slam your body all over the place, whip your head and neck around while providing no neck support. It comes off the tracks and comes back down with a spine cracking thud over and over and over. Had I been able to, I would have gotten off halfway through. This is poorly engineered and I am shocked the park hasn't been sued by someone more litigious than I for back and neck injuries over this ride

This ride is definitely decent, but it’s become so overrated over the years. The first half is great, it feels like Voyage’s first half but even better. Fun drop, good floater airtime on the hills, but the 2nd half is pretty bad. Minimal airtime & it gets kinda rough. My back was hurting by the end of the ride. If they ended it after the first half it would be a better ride. There‘s definitely better CCIs out there.

I had heard good things about Shivering Timbers but with so little people having ridden it I still went in with zero expectations. It definitely ended up being about what I would’ve guessed it to be like. The ride is massive and just keeps going there is not complaint about length here. The first drop isn’t great because you hit your max angle quick and then just descend straight down. Then the ride gets good. The first two floater hills give solid floater and then as the elements get smaller and smaller the airtime really shines. The next hill is easily the strongest of the first half as it’s sustained strong floater the whole way through. You then pop up into the turn around where there is some good laterals and drop back down into the return trip. The return trip is just constant floater with one triangle hill that gives ejector. You hit the helix that has some good lats and then to the brake run. Shivering Timbers is a 9/10 in my book because of the solid floater the whole way through and it’s smooth ride. Their isn’t one moment that completely stands out as it’s all great. It’s my new favorite CCI beating out Legend at Holiday World.

Smooth. Elegant. Classic. Shivering Timbers is simply a joyride for the floater airtime enthusiast. However, that's also the main con. The layout is predictable, redundant, and uncreative. I do love the location though, away from the rest of the park, overgrown by weeds and on a dirt path. I didn't even notice we were near a parking lot, and it was cool for it to be the first thing you see coming into the park. I also love the signage with the flowers, which seemed the prettiest thing in the whole park. The fact that it was the only coaster running more than one train proves that CF knows this ride is a diamond in the rough. My favorite touch is the finale, a great helix with excellent laterals. I think laterals and helixes improve woodies tremendously, and without it I'd give Shivering Timbers a 7. But a good helix on an awesome CCI is just that good.
