OG review: HEADBANGING: THE RIDE. It was BAD!!! The headbanging was mainly on the inline twists but WOW was it PAINFUL!!! After riding this and Scream, I can understand why the newer B&M’s have the vests. These older OTSR are HOT GARBAGE!! Just imagine sticking your head between some jail bars on a door and then someone slamming that door into a wall! Plus some of the transitions also delivered headbanging! I never would have imagined it to be this bad. The queue had more theming than I would have expected but thank goodness there wasn’t a line. The queue is an absolute sauna! Other than that it was fairly intense.
UPDATE: It was just a teeny bit better the second time. I still don’t like it though. I rode towards the back and kept my head against the seat this time. I was able to somewhat enjoy the layout more. Unfortunately, I also got motion sick. This is the first coaster to EVER make me motion sick and it’s because of how claustrophobic these trains are. Unless you’re in the front, there’s no view. I’ll have to try the front next time but I would much rather ride something else.

UPDATED REVIEW: This was my first RMC and I was super excited. Even though it’s often ranked lower as a raptor, to me, it was amazing. I've ridden it 5 times; 1 towards the front and 4 in the back of the train. This thing is INSANE. In the back, it PULLS you through every maneuver. Every airtime hill gives solid ejector. Even coming out of the MCBR and turnaround, you get airtime! There are several moments that pull good positive G’s as well, mainly the low-to-the-ground turnaround. This thing is also fairly smooth. The inversions are so fun. Like Twisted Colossus, the stall is the definition inverted weightlessness while the zero-g roll is exactly as the name implies. The restraints aren’t much of a problem for me. I would definitely RECOMMEND RIDING AS FAR BACK AS YOU CAN. The front is ok but it kinda crawls up there. The only real gripe that I have is the hump of metal that separates your legs. Overall, an outstanding ride that lives up to the hype of RMC!

Electric Eel is decent. There is airtime on the first swing forward in the front, and ejector on the drop into the loop in the back. The hangtime on the roll is crazy and sustained. The 180 transition going up after the third launch is very sudden and quick. However, the Comfort Collars don’t do anything good. You’ll likely bang your head throughout the ride. They’re also very inconvenient trying to take on and off and slows operations. The trains are also very tight. However, the ride operations are typically very fast. There isn’t much theming other than a little bit of rockwork that isn’t very obvious.

One and done. Could care less for it. It is SOOO ROUGH!! Like the ride description on the SF website says, “This is how it feels to fly”. . . with the WORST TURBULENCE YOU’VE EVER FELT! Then combine that with the Batman jail bars! Headbanging wasn’t as bad as Batman but the roughness combined with the positive G’s took the air out of my lungs in the WRONG WAY. If this is the experience on this thing, I genuinely doubt that I’ll ever ride Riddler. Other than that, the inversions and layout are pretty good.

This was so fun! It’s the perfect mix of dueling, intensity, speed, launches, and inversions. The high five gives decent lateral airtime. Each of the corkscrews are awesome, and the dueling really adds to it. Watching the other train fly around you that close is AWESOME!! It’s the closest you can get to being an FPV drone. The second launch was also surprising. Having only felt the Skyrocket II launches as far as Premier goes, this had so much more kick to it. It’s only a split second but the acceleration is sudden. The theming is also decent. The biggest downside are the comfort collars. They don’t hurt as much as the Skyrocket II collars do (probably because it’s not as intense), but the pain is noticeable once you’re on the brakes. West Coast Racers also broke down right when the park opened. I’m not sure if this is a regular thing, but that can slow operations down when they cycle all three empty trains. Overall though, this is an amazing ride that has the perfect balance of everything.

UPDATED REVIEW: I GOT A HALF DUEL!!! Props to the crew running this thing on 7/29/24! They were actively telling guests that we had a very limited time window to catch the other train on the lift hill. This built a ton of anticipation and it meant both trains got one duel per run which isn’t bad! And yes, I can confirm that this thing was meant to duel. It was NEXT LEVEL!! Between watching the other train fly along next to you and getting shot out of your seat is just incredible. Twisted Colossus is JAM-PACKED with solid ejector airtime. The first drop, the wave-turn high-five, and EVERY SINGLE HILL will ABSOLUTELY LAUNCH YOU out of your seat!!! If this is the airtime on what is supposedly a “lower-tier” RMC, I cannot imagine what it’s like on something like Iron Gwazi. Aside from the endless heavenly airtime, the inversions are very fun. I would describe the stall as pure inverted air, while the zero-g roll is exactly what the name implies. This thing is also SILKY SMOOTH. Smoothest coaster I’ve ever ridden. IF I HAVE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, I would say set your expectations right. If you go in expecting a duel, you may be very disappointed. I would go in and just try to appreciate the layout and airtime for what it is. Believe me, I did that the very first time I rode it and it did wonders. Overall, an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING work of art and a must-do at SFMM!!!

This was awesome! Like the Skyrocket II’s, it’s short but packs a fun punch. Like Electric Eel, the ops are kinda messed up and they play tricks with you or launch you with warning. The first launch is decent and shoots you up into the ENORMOUS vertical loop! I mean this thing is taller than Tatsu’s pretzel loop! The hangtime is SO AWESOME!! You’re dangling from the lap bar and if you look up (or down I guess) you can just admire the moment. After that you fly through a few turns and the sidewinder (idk what it’s actually called but it’s really cool). You slam to a stop and sit there for a second. Then you LAUNCH backwards from a dead stop. That backwards launch is super forceful. While the backwards launch on FT is significantly better than the Skyrocket II’s, those have the better backwards swing. You stare down at the ground and shoot through the tunnel. You get a pop of airtime at the top of the loop before slowing down. It’s a bit of a kill but oh well. Speaking on which, this ride illustrates how good West Coast Racers and the Skyrocket II’s would be without the “Comfort” Collars! Anyways, before I get on a rant about that, I would say make sure to ride this thing cause it’s AWESOME!!!

UPDATED REVIEW: WOW!!! Day or night, this thing PACKS A PUNCH!!! Out of the coasters I’ve done so far (I haven’t done X2 yet), this is the one and only ride that TRULY SCARES ME. The fear mainly stems from how insanely high off the ground this thing is. The lift hill is absolutely terrifying. For most of the ride, it does feel like you’re flying. You’re twisting and turning over the forest like a bird and it’s awesome! And then you make this left turn, and there it is; THAT PRETZEL LOOP. You PLUNGE to the ground and are met with PURE POSITIVE G-FORCE! What results is what I can only describe as a fighting grayout! It is INSANE as your vision comes in as you face the sky. It’s AWESOME and certainly a must-do at this park! Ta ta ta, ta ta ta, Ta TATSUUUUUU!!!!!

A very underrated ride! I was very skeptical about it due to the *VERY MIXED* reviews I’ve heard but the line was short so I decided to try it. If anything, this is a ride that doesn’t deserve the hate. It’s smooth and overall comfortable. The floater is decent and it rides the course very well. The helix is awesome and even there it’s very smooth. My only problem is the mid-course. It just slams to a very unnecessary stop! The one advantage of the MCBR is that towards the front, you hang over the second drop which is kind of cool. Overall, I would say that it’s worth your time to ride it and decide for yourself. I’m glad that I did because now I have great appreciation for it.

The speed is awesome along with the handchoppers. Unfortunately, I only got one ride towards the back. The first thing I noticed was that the seats are low and cushioned a lot. I’m not sure if this hinders the airtime, but I didn’t feel much of it. Like I didn’t get ANY airtime. Apocalypse seems to be a twister GCI so it’s probably built for speed than air. There is also a noticeable rattle but does not ruin the ride. There is also some really immersive and ominous theming in the queue, such as a bunch of evacuation alarms and some destroyed trucks. Overall a good ride. I would like to ride it in the front in the future; perhaps it’s better there.

It surpassed my expectations. Arctic Rescue is great. This is a coaster that shines because of the “low-to-the-ground-sensation.” Being that low to the ground enhances the feeling of speed. The launches also have some great acceleration and power. The launches may (or may not) be better than Manta’s. Most of the transitions aren’t too crazy, except for a few after the 2nd launch. Unlike Manta, there is not midcourse brake and therefore the pacing is solid. It is also silky smooth and comfortable. Front row is the best overall, yet you will also get PULLED in the back. The theming is also better than the dive coaster next door. The downside to Arctic Rescue is that it ALWAYS breaks down. Also, I wish that they would run 2 trains all the time as it would keep the queue flowing a lot faster cuz it CRAWLS. They usually have an attendant letting people in the station and they’ll assign your row unless you ask. Also FYI, fanny packs aren't allowed anymore. Despite this, it’s a fun ride and a great way to start your day at this park.

Not the best in the park, but it’s still good. The first drop is good in any row, although the most forceful experience would have to be in the back edge seats. The inversions are all great, but the second is the most noticeable, especially on the edge seats. The pace that you fly through the course is literally breath-taking. You speed into the brakes. There is also NEVER a line because of the row capacity. The biggest downside is the theming. There is NOTHING. The restraints are ok, but be sure that there isn’t a gap between your legs and the restraint or else it will come down HARD! Last con: the rattle. It’s not really noticeable in the front and second row, but it definitely is in third. Other than that, Emperor is very enjoyable, and if you want a great ride that you can get back on quickly, this is it.

This ride is cool. The theming is great with a beautiful entrance sign, an aquarium with rays in the queue, some nice tropical landscaping, rays painted on the station ceiling, and the pre-launch effects tunnel. Operations are always on point. The trains are also beautiful and super comfortable. The best seat for airtime is Row 9 (least obstructed view in the back) and the best for the launch is the front. The lap bars do come down but are not noticeable until you hit the final brakes. The pre-show tunnel is cool and immersive with upbeat music, and the tunnel effects are cool. The launches also have some punch. There are several ejector moments, notably the first drop after the 1st launch and the two last twists in the second half. The first camelback gives some nice floater. Several of the turns are also very forceful for what it is. The biggest downside is the MCBR. It’s oddly forceful and messes up the pacing. The queue is also very long. Marathoning this when the park is dead can be a workout when there is no shortcut. Other than that, this is a fantastic coaster. Night rides are also awesome!
