It’s a solid ride but honestly didn’t really put a smile on my face. It’s got a big first drop and a bunch of Immelmanns and then it hangs you over a pool before a helix finale. It’s short and good but not great.

This ride was my favorite in the park easily and it’s hard to put a finger on the genius of the compact layout but I love the curving first drop into large vertical loops and then an immediate hard left turn with a few swoops. There is a sort of feeling of flying in the big bridge between helices and then you’re screwing down faster and faster until the brakes. There’s such a simple efficiency to the layout and it’s comfortable and smooth after all these years.

Demon at SFGA is wonderfully classic and themed well with the rock facades. It’s ultimately just a janky Arrow double loop and corkscrew with a neck-snapper at the beginning of the corkscrew, but I have a soft spot in my heart/neck for these. The second loop is definitely high in positive g forces. This is now surrounded by newer and bigger rides so it’s sort of like that old lady who refused to move so the developers came and built skyscrapers all around her but she’s still defiantly there.

This historic ride is such a wonderful classic and still an exciting and great introduction for young and old to roller coasters because it perfectly finds the right balance of excitement while making riders comfortable. The train is so unique with the seats arranged in a row and then the circular lift hill is calming with just a gentle first drop and a series of wonderful turns and hills in the forest. It’s family coaster perfection.

Though this is a copy of the same coaster at Valleyfair, this one doesn’t have the vertical spike brakes/park feature running. It also has a terrible red and yellow paint color and is much more poorly maintained with an ugly station and queue. The ride itself is still a gem, hidden in the Six Flags mud.
