Really fun gimmick with some strange element choices, that zero G roll was guaranteed to take your breath away. Truly an awesome coaster with the stand up restraints, will be interesting to see how it rides now it has a lap bar (absolutely worse than before) My main complaint? The weird straight track after the zero g roll really kills the pace in my eyes, and absolutely holds this back from being an even better ride than it already is.

This ride is EXTREMELY underrated. It’s really good. The first drop has no stomach dropping feeling, but then you go into a loop where you are ripped through it. The 0G roll after that always lifted my off of the ground and is one of the best elements I’ve ever experienced ( so far ). It’s very sad that Drayton is converting it to sit down, ride it while you still can. I don’t know why I have this ride ranked so highly (at the time of this review) I’ll have to re-ride Nemesis when it reopens to give it justice. Edit:this ride has nothing on nemmy

I liked this ride. I see it’s age over the years I rode it and, pains me to say, my first coaster with inversions (excluding Galactica). The zero - g - roll is unhinged to say the least and the vertical loop I find glossy smooth. The corkscrews could be better but I feel bitter sweet over it becoming sit down.

But it mostly made for a more unique experience, that zero g roll is incredible on stand up trains, and it’s very forceful. There is a little jolt whilst entering the first inversion, and the ride only consists of 4-5 elements. But I still really liked it. Not sure if the sit-down trains will enhance this coaster.

Super rough and not that exciting, was interesting being stood up though as i've never been on a stand up. Very excited to see how modern trains improve this ride though. Can all headbang central coasters be fixed by lap bars? We'll see.

This was my very first 1.4m rollercoaster. I used to love riding this. However, I think it's gotten a bit rougher over the years. I do like the vertical loop & the zero-g roll, though I do think it could do with a bit of airtime. I personally wanna see a B&M retrack & new B&M Stand-up trains, because I don't want it to suffer the fate of Firebird's floorless conversion.

Shockwave has some surprising intensity which you wouldn't really expect by looking at it. The 0G roll makes your feet lift off the floor which is a great feeling and the final two inversions are pretty forceful. Due to only running one train and having a long load time, Shockwave had a pretty long queue throughout the day which the complicated loading certainly didn't help, and at the end of the ride the brakes are very sudden and throw you forward which can be uncomfortable, but that wasn't a big issue at all. Theming in the Adventure Cove area is pretty good but not overly noticeable unless you are looking.

I came off Shockwave the first time and said I have no idea why I enjoyed that, but I did! There's no doubt that the restraints are very uncomfortable, and very awkward. There's no doubt that this plus only running 1 train means the dispatches take forever. There's no doubt it's short. And there's no doubt that the brakes hit so hard at the end that you see those who aren't expecting it fly forward into their big uncomfortable restraint, which must hurt a bit. But both rides I had were just great fun. For a nearly 30-year old ride, it runs surprisingly smoothly all the way round, the first drop is really good, and all 4 inversions are very intense and taken at a really good speed. The highlight being the zero g roll which is pretty crazy, but actually feels really well profiled. Not to mention how unique the ride is. Stand ups have long been out of fashion but I hope Drayton can keep it going for a while yet, and I actually hope it stays as a stand up rather than getting the floorless treatment. Just a great fun, unique ride and i'm very pleased I finally got to experience it

I expected some headbanging, but ended up liking this coaster more than I thought: Despite the cumbersome boarding and slow operation (the restraint system is downright bizarre), the ride experience is quite good. Of course it is not a top-tier rollercoaster, but it runs surprisingly well aside of some minor rattle. Especially the zero-g-roll is a very unusual experience while being in standing position, but the rest of the layout is also fun. Theming is not really existent, but the appearance has improved with a new bright and colourful paint job of the station building. The slow operations were not a big issue during our visit because queue times were only about 15-20 minutes.

Si davantage d'attractions pouvaient être en position debout, je serais largement preneur, étant beaucoup plus sensible au déséquilibre qu'assis ! Et c'est notamment pour la tour de chute Stand-up Apocalypse que je suis retourné 4 années dans ce parc Drayton Manor ! Cependant et curieusement, contrairement à Apocalyse qui est très sensationnel en stand-up (5 étoiles), ici le maintien des harnais au dessus des épaules de ce coaster et le fait d'être presque à cheval réduit un peu les sensations, devenant presque du semi-assis excepté si l'on essaye de se mettre sur la pointe des pieds. Certes le looping n'est pas mal, mais je pense que de base et assis, ce coaster serait encore plus gentillet... Mais l'idée est excellente. A développer pour d'autres coasters plus intenses en stand-up.

The Zero G Roll is the best inversion I've ever done, even outranking the loops on Olympia Looping. You need to get on this as soon as you can and make sure to get several rides on it; this isn't something you just do once on a visit. It's incredibly rerideable but it's getting worrying seeing maintenance issues popping up more often. Ride it.

Brilliant hangtime on the intense zero g roll and whip on the corkscrews but the ride is very short and there is a rough part on the the bottom of the first drop but other than that the ride doesn’t have bad head banging. The harness is also super awkward to put on but after a few rides you will get used to it. Overall very unique and forceful ride. Also ride back row for best experience.

I personally found it to be a good fun ride once I worked out how to set up the restraint properly without squashing anything important on the bike seat style knobstopper - Tip: crouch a tiny bit and stand up fully when the restraint is locked. Your shoulders will then likely be touching the top of the harness, but it's better than resting your bodyweight on your balls (ladies, ride this how you like, I can't help you there). Given the age of the ride, a rattle is understandable but to me, the unique standing experience is a reason I enjoy this ride a lot, and the layout is pretty good too. It's fast and isn't as uncomfortable as others may say it is.

Shockwave a une très mauvaise réputation, je m'attendais vraiment à me faire bastonner dans ce stand-up, d'autant plus que ma seule expérience en la matière (Green Lantern à SFGA) restait un très mauvais souvenir. Or, malgré une incompréhensible baffe à l'entrée du loop, j'ai trouvé que le ride passait plutôt bien. Par contre, et je crois que ce constat est assez courant sur ces bécanes, ça n'a absolument aucun intérêt. Depuis cette époque, les constructeurs ont découvert qu'on pouvait innover sur d'autres choses que la position du rider, et c'est tant mieux.
