Great mine train! Can't score it any higher given it's not the kind of ride that I enjoy the most, but it's fantastic for what it is.

Theming Location Pace

Big Thunder Mountain is my personal favorite ride at the main DisneyLand park. The theming is great and there are multiple lift hill with good drops at the end of each. I've been riding this for years now and I have fun riding it every time I come.

The original big thunder mountain, quite smooth and has good pace, but is shorter than the other big thunder mountains.

A good and historical family coaster, very long and with a great theme,maybe too much rattle,probably cause it's quite old

Smoothness Dead spots

It is a family coaster nothing special but the theming is good and there's lots to look at. I do hope to reride this to see if I get any airtime or feel more laterals. (C+ out of S)

This ride is a classic, it gives some good laterals and it's pretty well themed. If only I cared more about laterals and theming. Some mild airtime pops as well.

Like Space Mountain, this is a very fun, smooth, and enjoyable ride. Big Thunder Mountain itself looks beautiful, the ride tracks very smoothly, and it delivers some nice pops of laterals and airtime. Overall, this is a good ride that must be ridden when you go to "the D word."

Theming Comfort Layout Intensity

Worst part about this ride is the shallow drops. I don’t need inversions, hangtime, etc, but I do enjoy some good airtime and drops. This ride is definitely a family coaster, and the lack of intensity brings it down just a little too much. As a Disney fan, I do appreciate the theming and history of the ride, but as a coaster fan I can’t quite bring it up to that level.

It’s a tame Disney family coaster, you can’t really expect intensity and big drops. The theming is pretty good and I like the noice the train makes throughout the layout. Unfortunately the drops are shallow and doesn’t have much intensity. Mainly just a well themed family coaster with som good effects.

Very fun mine train with some fantastic scenery and theming. Seeing all the prop animals in the beautiful landscaping makes for a very fun ride, with a fair bit of re-rideability to catch anything you might have missed.

Another ride at Disneyland that I have a soft spot for - it's been one of my favorites since I was very young. Hard to go wrong with it to be honest, super fun and just beautiful as hell.

Much smoother then Florida’s but doesn’t have as much of that arrow jank or airtime. Good ride obviously with fantastic theming but Florida’s is slightly better because of a few hills that try to eject you.

Theming Duration Dead spots

While Thunder Mountain is a classic Disney coaster, you should go on with the expectation of a family coaster rather than a thrill coaster. The best part of the ride is the amazing theming, especially at the start when you dive into the pitch black and rise through a beautifully lit cave. My favorite section is probably the helix winding in and out of the rock. However, for most of the ride, it struggles to pick up speed, leading to a lot of dead spots. Other great aspects of the ride are its length and capacity. This is a long ride with three lift hills, and they have a dual loading station, so even if the line goes all the way to the entrance, the wait will often be less than an hour. This ride is a must do every time you go to Disneyland.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a family coaster. However, it is a ridiculously well-themed family coaster. The redone finale is quite impressive, and the ride is quite entertaining. I highly recommend a night ride.
