I was already mad about the god awful operations at the park and especially Gold Rush. The coaster did not win my favor either. Sure, it's a very interesting roller coaster but it generally left me disappointed.

Really solid coaster- great theming (although not a fan of the park's AI art), really unique layout, fast pacing and butter smooth. Insanely comfortable to ride, enjoyable for enthusiasts as well as GP/families. Enjoyed both cycles (forwards first/backwards first) thoroughly. Just wish it could operate more in the rain! All in all, Intamin COOKED with this.

Après avoir testé les 2 cycles, j’en suis sorti super surpris ! Le layout est tortueux, impressionnant à chaque virage avec des forces vraiment puissantes pour le type. Je ne m’attendais rien pour ce family qui franchement en donne pour l’attente surtout sur le 2ème cycle ! Le seul gros défaut de ce coaster comme tout le parc c’est son débit. Les opérateurs font rentrer les nouvelles personnes en station seulement au moment où toutes les personnes du train précédent sont sorties de la gare. C’est très spécial comme méthode de gestion qui ralenti considérablement le rythme et qui vous fait facilement attendre 45min pour pas grand chose … Bref un coaster très qualitatif et une super nouveauté pour ce beau petit parc mais toujours gâchée par son débit.

This is a fantastic family coaster, theming is nothing short of amazing in on and around the coaster with a great preshow and beautiful looking trains. The ride itself is fun and graceful with some great elements especially the first launch which is very punchy backwards (on cycle 1), however I do feel that the second launch is lacking as is the ride in general in terms of intensity. This ride is so unique and a perfect fit for the park.

Gold rush is a great family roller coaster. It is butter smooth, and has a long layout with great theming. Cycle one is the more tame experience while cycle two offers more thrills with the backwards drop. The launches have a good punch especially for a family coaster, the ride has some small spots of weak floater airtime. One issue with the ride is its intensity, while it is a family coaster other family experiences offer more forces, however this doesn't take away from the ride. Overall gold rush acts as a stand out for Drayton manor and one of the UK's best family roller coasters.

I have to give my kudos the Drayton. The theming (and retheming of Frontier Falls) is fantastic. The ride is insanely smooth (never ridden anything this smooth before) and is utterly unique. Cycle 1 is a little more tame than cycle 2 (all hail cycle 2). The tire drive launches are surprisingly punchy and pick up a lot of speed, leading to some really pleasantly whippy cornering and the drops are actually decent, and it is fantastically paced. It is the best true family coaster in the country and one of my tops in the country. I would not be surprised if we see more of this type of thing opening up around the world. If drayton keeps this up, we could see ourselves with quite the family park battle on in the UK.

Gold Rush is a ride that does a lot of things right. It's a well themed experience, nothing world beating but it's a very pleasant area and queue, and the station and launch scene are suitably detailed if a little predictable. The ride itself is very smooth, a very good duration for a family coaster, and really a very unique concept with the lift that also acts as a spike, along with the launch, which is really quite snappy, took me by surprise. The section that is traversed twice, forward and backward, is by a distance the best part of the ride, really fun in both directions with some good speed and some nice transitions. Unfortunately the section after the lift and the ending after the second little boost suffers from the simple problem of not quite being fast enough, the train crests the lift far too slowly and as a result, the turns and hills that should give some mild floaty air give nothing, and there's no snap at all. The lap bar is also poor, unlike Thirteens which is fully round, it has an uncomfortable point which digs into your waist and seems wholly unnecessary. Overall, it's a good ride, and excellent for a 1m height restriction, but some small tweaks could've really elevated it, and therefore the execution isn't quite there
