For what it is oblivion is great, Alton towers really locked in to make something like this happen and the drop is unmatched in the park for the fear inducing, adrenaline spiking experience. However, the wait is not worth it unless the ride is a literal 5-15 minute queue because the drop is the only element. Tiny bit of a rattle on the bottom of the drop but who cares.

Oblivion is actually a big surprise because you can tell what it's going to do before you ride it - and still, the intensity of that first drop surprises you all the same. I guess it's different if you've already ridden any other dive coasters, but this was my first. A longer layout with more elements would be appreciated though.

It's a classic, and there's a reason I ride it every time I visit Alton Towers: the drop is unique, and the soundtrack and late-90s/early-2000s vibes are tremendous. The line itself wraps around the building nicely, and there are excellent vantage points to capture the prominent drop. Of course, after the drop, there's not really anything going on - you're just returning to the station in comparison. But, you're on it for the drop! Merlin, you did good with this guy.

Of all the coasters i've done, I think Oblivion is one that's grown on me the most. It's super short of course and is literally just the drop, but that drop is really excellent and is super intense all the way down. No matter how often you ride, that drop stays very intimidating as well, having over the drop facing the big dark hole doesn't get old. The view from the top is also incredible and is a huge part of the experience in itself, absolutely gorgeous on a clear day looking out across the park and Staffordshire. I think it really shines at night as well, the tunnel is pitch black and adds another layer of thrill. Short, yes, but it does what it does very well

My friend and I went on this during lunchtime, and I had a night ride while waiting for friends to come off the Smiler as it was a walk-on. The fear that it builds as you go up the lift hill and the theme around the coaster itself is great, and also, the views at the top are really good. I don't think it matters where you sit on this as you get great views on the daytime I had the back row then the night time I was at the front. The drop itself is forceful, and you feel very secure in your seat so you can enjoy the ride without any issues. At the end, you do spend a bit of time in the break run, as others have mentioned. The music track sounds like a 90s Clubland trance techno, which fits the ride well as it opened back in 1998, but the views you also get in the queue line as you're about to get on are also good where you are underneath the left hill.

First time trying Oblivion and was super nervous. Being able to stand by the smoky pit on the ground is a nerve-wracking, yet exciting experience in itself, and a good deciding factor in whether or not you want to go on it. The build up to the drop is very exciting, and it's making my heart race just thinking about it after the fact! The drop is of course extremely intense, but as a first time rider, I didn't really mind the shortness or the novelty of it. This was one of the few rides I've been on where I couldn't scream or smile, simply due to how freaked out and overwhelmed I was when in the midst of the drop (the photo of me on it looks like I've literally fainted LOL). It took me a few moments until after the ride was finished to figure out whether or not I liked it. I'm still not sure a week later, and I'm desperate to try it again next year! The mist from the pit in the drop was really refreshing, and makes you feel like you were in a cold sweat from your nerves, adding to the feeling that you just put your body through something wild. I actually love how the theming is very deliberately outdated and almost like the Dance Dance Revolution graphics. Very 90s nightclub and in your face kind of gaudy, which I think they could lean into a bit more. Overall, an insanely exhilarating experience. Hilariously, I can do Oblivion without hesitation, but I've never been able to muster the courage to do Rita (or Stealth at Thorpe Park)!

Right. This is a real one trick pony. Being the first B&M dive coaster it is a bit of a novelty, and the sheer ridiculous nature of building the drop in to the ground is so sick. The drop is good, the best at the park (not that there's any competition) and it does it well. I wish they could hold the pause longer, even by 1-2s. The ejector from the drop is pleasant and the fact it even goes underground into darkness and the mist does up the intensity. It is very solid, but not much to it and that's okay.

Oblivion c'est tout bête mais qu'est ce que c'est efficace, ça ne surprendra personne si je dit que j'ai trouvé le coaster trop court car le layout se résume à un lift, une drop et un virage mais la drop est géniale, on flotte bien dans notre siège et on prends beaucoup de vitesse dans la drop. Ce plongeon sous terre est assez désorientant et c'est très impressionnant visuellement. Par contre je pense que ce serais ma dive préférée si elle s'arrêtait un petit peu plus longtemps au sommet de la drop comme avant mais là avec seulement 2 rangées et en s'arrêtant si peu de temps on a moins cet effet de décrochage qu'on retrouve sur les autres dive.

Great little ride to do when the queue is quiet. A lot of the times you can just walk on with no queue on off peak days which is what makes it such a great ride. I love the theming as well, people get critical about how it seems outdated or is lacking in some places but honestly, it's a fantastic theme. It's due a refurbishment soon, just like Nemesis, so whilst I am optimistic as to what could happen, it would also be a bummer to see the old 90s queue line refurbished.

One of my all-time faves. Yes, it’s super short and it does only one thing - but boy does it do it well! Surprisingly intense drop, incredible noise when you enter the hole, it looks great off-ride and you get superb views of Alton Towers at the top, with time to take it in! An absolute classic dive coaster. Love the theming too. UPDATE: After doing this a few more times, I am getting frustrated with how short it is… Bringing it down to 4.5 therefore
