1st half is an amazing launch coaster layout. Launch could be stronger but gets the job done for me and the top hat is good. Both inversions usually hit but after that, its literally as if someone used AutoComplete on this design with drawn out turns and dead bunny hills. Still a fun ride though

Skyrocket was my first ever launch rollercoaster I have ever been on and I still love it even though it has fallen in my rankings a good bit. The launch and inversions are all great but the second half of the ride kills it, some s-curves and two bunny hills that provide nothing. The pace you move through the second half could have been better overall and maybe a little extended but despite that I still like like this rollercoaster for its first half and launch.

And because of the dud ending it feels entirely too short. After 3 perfect inversions Sky Rocket ride turns into nothing. Its so disappointing. I'd say that this is a really great beginner launch coaster for people who have never done one before.

Sky Rocket at Kennywood is no doubt the launch coaster of all time. The train launches up a top hat, it goes through inversions, and it twists and turns. The coolest parts are the launch, the inversions, the ability to view McDonald’s from the top hat, and the part where the ride operator said, “It’s SkyRocketing time!” and skyrocketed all around the park. There is no surprise why the park gained one SkyRocketillion in the year of its debut. All jokes aside, Sky Rocket is a solid ride and is great until the mid course break run, which afterwards is just at best good and at worst very meh. It flips through a banked turn and an inversion, and does a zigzag similar to that of Busch Garden Tampa’s Cheetah Hunt. After all was said and done, I felt like it was decent. Not bad or good, just decent. I don’t know if I’m used to Maverick regarding launch coasters, but Sky Rocket felt a bit short and at times pretty boring in the second half, considering how kickass the first half was. It is a solid addition, don’t get me wrong, but it feels like it was missing some substance in the end, and that weakness makes existing the second thing it is best at, only to being a launch coaster for Kennywood. Number Score: 6.5/10 Letter Grade: C+ Pros: Good launch, good location, very smooth, fun top hat and inversions. Cons: Boring second half. Weird placement of entrance. Only seems to exist to be a launch coaster for Kennywood.

The initial LSM launch is solid, and despite the trim, the top hat gives some amazing ejector. The zero g roll is great too, and the dive off the mid-course give a nice pop of airtime as well. The ending, however, is forceless, and this is because you crawl through it. I went in expecting a sub par launch coaster, but I was pleasantly surprised.

This is a really….weird ride. The launch is pretty decent but nothing too great but the top hat with room in the back is genuinely kind of insane. Some nice positives coming into and out of it and some shocking ejector over the top. I was able to get like way too much room on this so the airtime was just crazy. The rest of the ride features a zero g roll which is pretty good as well as a weird and pretty pointless cutback/overbank type thing. The mcbr drop is another ridiculous ejector moment in the back with or without room and the valley off of it is like oddly tight and forceful. The ride pretty much dies after the corkscrew but the airtime alone makes this actually a lot of fun.

The hangtime on the top hat was great, and it had some fun inversions, but the second half of the ride was so random it detracted from the good first half.

An okay launch coaster. The first launch (after riding this many times) doesn't feel that forceful and the "0-50" claim is pointless because you're already moving at quite a bit of speed thanks to the sloping turn. The top hat element is my favorite moment of the ride, it's extremely intense as it gives off Skyrush-like airtime. Then looking straight down, the only thing that holds is the restraint, then into a forceful cutback inversion. The zero-g-roll is really snappy but gives off amazing hangtime. The ride then curves upwards into a "mid-course brake run"? It slows the ride down significantly but the ride packs in one more drop which gives off great airtime. The corkscrew after a very forceful, low-to-the-ground turn is has decent hangtime but the little turns and the airtime hills feel pointless. The ride recently though have picked up speed and give good airtime. I wish the second half of the ride was much better but the first half redeems it because of how intense it is.

I've never liked the Sky Rocket II model, and this dinky little ride didn't look like anything special. But the launch is incredible, just a bit less forceful than a Maverick, the top hat gives far more airtime than it has any right to, the inversions are smooth and provide great forces, and the layout is quietly relentless. This was a surprisingly great ride in a park full of surprisingly great rides.

This coaster was a huge surprise for me. It has great lap bars, and is very comfortable. The launch is forceful, and the top hat airtime is hilarious. The rest of the ride provides fun inversions, jarring airtime, and weird twists and turns that are just a joy to navigate.
