When these coasters dueled they were amazing. The loop where both trains come at each other is great. The only airtime hill on an invert in another of the near misses where Blue did a zero g roll was also very cool and unexpected.

Dragon Challenge - Chinese Fireball was one of two dueling BM inverts that was themed after the dragons in Harry Potter. The queue was cave themed and the ride was intense and had great pacing. I felt like the Fireball side was a bit faster than the Horntail side and it features a near miss double loop and barrel rolls, Immelmanns, and other inversions. The ride was smooth and not uncomfortable which adds to why this was such a quality ride

This thing was sublime when it dueled, the image of every single near missed is etched in my mind and I'm sure it forever will be. On top of the fantastic dueling elements, this ride was also batshit intense. I slightly preferred Hungarian Horntail due to the Zero-G on the first dueling element where Chinese Fireball does an airtime hill, as well as that Cobra Roll which was very forceful and had a crazy near-miss with the wall. All in all, these were my favorite B&M inverts, and I think they innovated in terms of dueling coasters like no other coaster did. RIP, Dragons, and fuck JK Rowling

Dueling Dragons scared the shit out of me when I was little. I had only been on the Vortex at kings island around this time and I was truly scared. I only got to ride it once that day and I thought I was gonna to fall out I just knew we were going to hit the other train then I almost blacked out but another inversion kept me up it was insane forceful and enjoyable. I knew nothing about elements back then or positive and negative G’s I just knew the ride I just got off of shouldn't exist. But I never forget about that ride, years later I came back and it's called Dragon Challenge I got more than one ride that day.

I've been on both Dragon Challenge coasters as they are different. The Chinese Fireball/Red/Fire side is more critically acclaimed than the Hungarian Horntail/Blue/Ice side. While I do think the Chinese Fireball side is fun but I don't think it is really as intense as the other one. The immelmans were fun, I think this side kinda lacked something... a zero-g-roll and a cobra roll. I didn't ride it while dueling so I can't say my opinions about it while dueling. If I go to Universal next time (I really don't want to because they're being lazy with their new rides lately), I will be looking forward to Hagrids to see how it counters with this ride.

I've done five different inverts as of now and (including these two) both sides of Dragon Challenge are joint as my least favourite.

Ahh I loved both Ice and Fire! (Was much better as dueling dragons before the harry potter take over in my opinion). They were awesome ! and unique to have the coasters dual ! It was something special...

It was something special when on the front row and you came face to face with the other train, crazy! (although the timing wasn't always perfect). Such a shame they had to stop them dueling because of safety reasons.. I think once they stopped them dueling there wasn't much point in keeping them together like that.. so sad to see them go (was really strange seeing them take the track apart when i was there last year in September) but suuper excited to see this new harry potter launched/dark ride/ coaster coming!
