A long wooden-train coaster. Not intens and good for all/most people

Capacity Fun Duration Discomfort Dead spots Lap Bar
As far as mine trains go, this one is pretty fantastic. It's quite long with three lift hills, offers a crazy dark section and nice theming overall. In the back it pulls some surprisingly strong laterals at times which makes it more intense than you'd initially expect. Unfortunately, due to its age, Colorado Adventure is not the smoothest right out there: I wouldn't exactly describe the seating as comfortable and the lap bar doesn't help either. From what I can tell, sitting on the right hand side (back row) is a bit more comfortable than sitting on the left.

Nice surprise! Fun Duration
This is probably the coaster I've smiled the most while riding. This is the true definition of a fun coaster. It is a long ride, and it has an indoor portion. What a creative and good layout Vekoma came up with! Having ridden two Big Thunder Mountains, and Tren Minero at Fantasilandia, this is definitely the best mine train coaster I've been to.
-
Fun Intensity Duration Capacity
This coaster is absolutely unhinged. Sitting in the back row, you'll be pulled, and I mean PULLED down every drop. The coaster was also very smooth and had good theming. A shame that the capacity is so poor.
-
Fun Duration
A really cool family ride with a surprisingly intense helix at the end!
-
Theming Fun Intensity
For a family coaster, this ride ist almost stupily intense. Good themmng amd great duration come on top to make this one of the best "family" coasters ever!
-
Pace Fun Intensity Discomfort
Great fun ride, with some very intense moments that probably shouldnt even be allowed. But still great.
-
Theming Capacity Duration Rattle Discomfort Lap Bar
The very first row and the very last row is just too intense because it throws you around sideways and the bad lap bar stretches across both seats, it feels unsafe and hurts and also rattles a ton on those seats. After only riding in those 2 rows, I felt awful and never wanted to ride it again. However, after giving it a third chance in the middle, it was fine and quite good. I would recommend (if the queue is short) to start with the row exactly in the middle and continuously go back a few rows with each ride.

Nice surprise! Fun Duration Discomfort
this coaster was a big surprise, yeah there are some rattle and it's disconfrtable but is also a very liong ride with some unexpected moments of airtime and threee drop

Theming Layout Harness
I think I would really love this ride on a re ride. but my first and only ride I was sitting next to my dad who's way bigger than me so I had a whole fist of room between me and the restraint. couple that with just a fairly uncomfortable bench and no seat belt I was scared shitless. I know I wasn't in any danger since its mostly just positive G's, but man I hold on tight like my life depended on it lol. most scared I’ve ever been on a coaster. if I ever do this ride with a proper positioning of the lap bar, I’ll be sure to redo this review.

Theming Fun Duration Rattle Dead spots
Such an interesting mine train. Overall, it's pretty fun. The seats aren't the most comfortable, though. And there are definitely dead spots where the pace is pretty slow and where the train almost comes to a stop. It's a fun family coaster with nice theming.

Airtimes Fun Duration Rattle
Really fun! The indoor part is actually pretty intense in the backrow. The ride is pretty long and fun, and also the theming around it looks awesome. Due to its age, it isn´t the smoothest and most comfortable ride ever, but the airtime is pretty insane in the backrow and offers very surprising flojector airtime moments
-
Theming Nice surprise! Fun
Quite a fun mine train coaster, and I love the sudden pitch black section in the middle. A very good family coaster for the park in my opinion.

Positives: Capacity - Duration - Fun - Layout - Nice Surprise! - Theming | Negatives: Dead spots

Theming Location Fun Discomfort Dead spots
As far as classic mine trains go, it’s top tier, but I still don’t like riding it, the seats will mess your back up if your remotely tall and the length of the trains kill any momentum coming of and up drops. The best part is the bit in pitch black darkness. It’s a LOT of fun, but my back hates it.
-
Fun Intensity Duration Discomfort
This is a surprisingly intense mine train coaster. It pulls some decent positive Gs on the helices and turns as well of some lateral G forces. It's quite long too. Its seats are quite uncomfortable though. They are weirdly padded and can hurt your back a little. A few of the transitions don't help it either. Update July 2024: I actually love this coaster. It is surprisingly intense in the back car. You get some great whip on all drops thanks to the insanely long train and the turns throw you about like a ragdoll. A few of them also have nice G-forces and there are many awesome near-misses.

I love a good Vekoma Mine Train to be honest and this was a super fun ride.
-
Nice surprise! Ejectors Duration Discomfort
Absolutely demented ride. Holds it's own to many thrill coasters. Wow just wow.
-
Fun Intensity Duration Lap Bar
We rode this 2 times. Our first ride was in the back part of the train and it totally exceeded expectations. With 3 lift hills it's a long ride and compared to other mine trains it's the best I've ridden so far. The second ride later in the day was near the front which was not so much fun, you're going over the hills at slow speed and only speeds up when you're well over them.
-
Nice surprise! Fun Intensity
a) why is it like that, b) why do they let you take your bags on, c) again, why is it like that
-
Capacity Fun Duration Discomfort
This is THE family Coaster. The ride is super long and goes as wild as possible without crossing the line to being a thrillcoaster. It would be a great fit for any Park out there, and i cant visit without riding it at least once. The only Bad Part is The not so comfortable Seat, but its far from being painful
-
Discomfort Reliability Lap Bar
My one true coaster trauma from my childhood days. Got squeezed to mouse by my mom cause of a malfunctioning lap bar. Now my friend has to suffer the consequences of me not wanting to ride these things while he lives and breathes them. I think I’m just gonna rate coaster on how cool they are to photograph from here on out.
-
Fun Duration Discomfort
You can wave people on chiapas sometimes during the 2nd and 3rd lifthills which is fun in my opinion, only downside is it's old train which does not support your back too well
-
Lap Bar Intensity
Very intense Vekoma mine-train. Definitely much much more thrilling than a Mack powered coaster it is superficially reminiscent of for the GP. The drops and lateral forces are great, some would even consider them a little too much. Definitely try it when you go to Phantasialand, it's a memorable experience.
-
Fun Intensity Duration Discomfort
Best train coaster I have ridden, packs in a lot of intensity, especially at the back of the train. Lots of surprises and a great dark section. Very long with 3 lift hills. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Only problem is the seats which are very uncomfortable.
-
Theming Fun Duration Rattle Discomfort Dead spots
This is an exceptional mine train, it has three lifthills and a really great indoor section. It's also intertwined with Chiapas which is really cool. It is however, very janky, at some points it threw me around so much I was literally standing up, but oh well. Also I don't know if this was done deliberately to decrease long lines, but it's an annoyingly long walk from the exit to the entrance, even though they're right next to each other as the crow flies.
-
Masterpiece Layout Duration
This is such an awesome family ride! So smooth, not janky at all. It is so well themed and a lot of fun, also pulling good forces and being incredibly long.
-
Theming Intensity Layout
Best family coaster I've ever ridden. It was so much fun.

Fun Intensity Harness
This ride is fast and intense - and don’t be deceived by it’s harmless looking exterior! Theming is top notch as well. It’s just bonkers, has no right to be as quick as it is. Big minus for those very loose lap bars however, unfortunately you have to hold on (otherwise you’ll squish the person next to you) which diminishes the pops of airtime that are dotted about.
-
Airtimes Fun Duration Discomfort
Colorado adventure is a surprisingly long and fast coaster. I loved the part through the darkness. Unfortunately the trains have 1 'sofa' instead of 2 seats. There is no gap so it is possible to bonk the person next to you.
-
Theming Layout Duration Rattle Headbanging Discomfort
Nice and old family mine train coaster! Really long and good layout, but i want to warn you: If you have any sort of back, neck or shoulder problems, do not go in the front row! This ride tears you down in the front row, and it really still hurts my back if i think of it. Try getting a place as much to the back as possible, it's more intense and smoother there.
-
Fun Layout Duration Discomfort
This is a long Mine Train with three lift hills and several ejectors, which you wouldn't expect. The seats especially in the back are not the most comfortable, but that is more or less all I have to complain about the ride. The long and fast paced layout with a surprising dark section has all you can expect from a family mine train. For sure, its not the most thrilling ride, but it you take it for what a coaster like this stands, you will be positive surprised. Backrows are a bit more intense on the drops after the lifthills, but you can ride this at every single position with a lot of fun.
-
Airtimes Theming Duration
Old but still fun minetrain. In the last row, there is a nice intensity.
-
Theming Fun Discomfort
It was really rough and the single lap bar for 2 people was really uncomfortable, but the ride itself was very fun
-
Fun Duration Discomfort
Love Colorado Adventure! Me and my friend always say you have to ride it in the front for a family ride and in the back for a 'thrill ride' lmao. I just think it is in need of new paddings or even new cars.
-
Airtimes Layout Discomfort
after my experience on colorado adventure on the front row, i must say, the coaster in general and the airtime and twisting turns are very exhilarating, coming out of the station into the first section is quite the feeling as the airtime i revived made me lift out my seat. My only complaint with this coaster is that in one of the sections, the coaster had thrown me from one side of the carriage to the other, in turn causing my neck to bend a whole 180 degrees. Now this may not seem bad but infact I could not lift my neck up for a solid few seconds and it genuinely felt like I had broken my neck, I am off the ride now and my neck still hurts. Nonetheless I would have given this coaster a better rating if it did not decide to cause spinal damage.

Capacity Launch Fun
Nice, long, well themed Celina mine train with some very surprising and unexpected twists and turns. No seat devider so you will be tossed around. It has some nice laterals in some parts and the theming is outstanding as is expected of Phantasialand. Great family coaster, have been riding it for over 25 years now and I still like it.

-
Theming Fun Intensity
One of the first “big” coasters I went on as a kid, still one of the best mine trains out there to this day
-
Capacity Fun Duration Dead spots
Best Family Coaster I have ridden so far. Unfortunately i never got the backrow (no free-seating) so there weren't any negative forces for me. Some sections felt pointless, but the coaster also has some quite tight transitions (for a family coaster) which gave some surprising latterals. It's also a very long and great themed ride.
-
Capacity Disappointing!
Rode it once in December 2021 and I could barely remember anything about it so that really says something about how much Colorado Adventure impressed me. Then I rode it again a few times in 2022 and I'm still not impressed. It is pretty smooth and the section in the dark is really good, but the rest of the layout just doesn't do it for me. It's not bad or anything, it just feels a bit basic. I'd much rather ride Taron or F.L.Y. instead.
-
Airtimes Capacity Duration Discomfort
What a quirky ride, filled with lots of airtime.
-
Overall this is a great mine train but comes with some cons, the seats are oddly uncomfortable and not a lot of back rest for the taller people! I feel the drops and dark sections are very unexpected as well but I suppose it does make for a great experience. The ride is ok and it definitely themes quite well but as mentioned, the seats are EXTREMELY uncomfortable especially with how many jolts and bumps there are on this ride not to mention the metal bar sat close to body on your lap..
-
Fun Theming
It's a long, fun mine train, and the dark section is the highlight. Theming doesn't meet Phantasialand's standards, the queue and station are poorly done and the coaster itself doesn't have as much rockwork I'd like; it's quite evident that this is a pretty old ride for Phantasialand. The trains aren't the most comfortable ones, with those too ample seats and lap bars, which, together with the jolty transitions, make for a bit uncomfortable ride. Nothing too bad, but it's more enjoyable if you hold on to the bar.
-
Capacity Fun Intensity Discomfort
This ride was so much better than expected. Typically mine trains are fun, bit this one was on another level. The dark indoor section is brilliant!!! Think after FLY and Taron my favourite of the park!
-
Airtimes Fun Duration Discomfort
I'll knock my con out of the way first, this is not a comfortable ride. The seats are very hard, and they feel extremely small, there's very little support for your back particularly if you're taller like myself. I found myself not enjoying the ride as much as I could've done because of this. However, regardless, this is a hell of a good mine train. The length is crazy, it feels like it's going on forever. A few of the drops and hills give genuine airtime, not crazy but still pretty forceful. Some of the helixes and turns are pretty snappy too, for what is the parks main family coaster. There's no doubt that layout wise, it's one of the best family coasters going. Impressive ride, I just wish it was a bit more comfortable so i would want to do rerides!
-
Capacity Nice surprise! Fun Dead spots
The surprise coaster of the park. I typically hate mine train family coasters but this one was wild. The middle third is completely in the dark and it’s awesome. Back car/Row is best

Fun Duration Discomfort
We rode this in the front, which wouldn't have been my choice, I would have liked to give it a go in the back ! But being in the front meant we were really waiting over the drops for the rest of the train and then got pushed over.. it meant for a weird type of airtime or at least out of seat time.. pushed up against the restraint wasn't very comfortable but was quite funny. Length is nice and the pace is fun. Wasn't expecting the dark sections!
-
Capacity Nice surprise! Discomfort
Highly underrated coaster, nice elements such as the dark parts. Be sure to take a ride in the back, also great views when going in during the evening and see the park ( Especially during wintertraum when you can see the Berlin place with the christmas tree)
-
Nice surprise! Duration
This is a very fun coaster honestly. I was surprised on how long this coaster actually is! Overall it's just great fun, definitely worth the ride if the queue isn't too long :)
-
Airtimes Capacity Duration
Absolutely one of the most underrated German coasters.
-
Capacity Fun Duration
Its a family Coaster but still throws you around in the Back car. It is really long with 3 Lift hills and you never wait long. Just a fun machine for everyone, i know nobody Who really dislikes it. I hope it stay around for many more Years, its a perfect fit at Phantasialand
-
Nice surprise! Fun Duration
I enjoyed Vekoma's Mine train in Gardaland but Colorado Adventure is even better. Perfect family ride.
-
Theming Layout Duration Discomfort
Very beautifully themed coaster. The coaster is pretty long and has a nice varying layout, not much rattling. Thrill: 2.5/5 Cons: the seats are uncomfortable and hard and the small indoor section in that mountain looks like in a warehouse
-
Fun Layout Duration Discomfort
This ride is always a must-ride when visiting Phantasialand. While most of its stats just look like the stats of a typical family coaster, it's much more. The layout is amazing and it feels surprisingly intense and fast. However it isn't the most comfortable ride. It doesn't hurt by any means but it has some shaky moments.
-
Airtimes Nice surprise! Layout
Great fun mine train, one of, if not the, best out there. Really long, great forces, some decent themeing in the first and last bits.
-
Nice surprise! Fun Intensity
From the ride itself it is the best minetrain. The theming is fine but could get a redo. For a minetrain it is also really intense with a creative layout and it remains exciting until the end.

-
Location Fun Duration Discomfort
It's a really fun ride: The layout is interesting and pretty long, it is nicely themed and there are even some caves providing small darkride sections. For a family coaster it's not to underestimate, but on the other side, the riding comfort is rustic, which fits to an old runaway mine train!
-
Airtimes Theming Duration Discomfort
Very exciting Mine Train. - Great theming and overall good duration. The airtimes and feelings on this coaster are just perfect, even the head chopper moments! - Trains are quite small and hard to fit tall people.
-
Nice surprise! Fun Duration Capacity Discomfort
This one was a nice surprise! I never would have thought it would be such a long ride. A solid mine train coaster which I enjoyed very much. Only cons are the long lines and the discomfort I experienced with my bag in the coaster. I was afraid it would fall out. Next time I will attach it better.
-
Fun Layout Duration
The best mine train I know, featuring a very long layout separated into three parts by two lift hills. Theming is wonderful, but, ironically, where the coaster really shines is the middle part in the dark. Here it is being surprisingly intense, a feeling enhanced by the loose lap bars. It is still only good and not amazing to me, because I find the layout a bit repetitive. Still a quality ride for sure.

I can remember marathoning this coaster when I visited Phantasialand in Year 7 and it was great fun! Can't wait to get back on this ride this summer!

Theming Fun Duration
Excellent mine train- as far as I'm concerned mine trains don't get any better. It has a high capacity, it's a very enjoyable and well-themed ride and I would ride it all day if Phantasialand wasn't as good as it is. Very very good ride.
-
Airtimes Capacity Duration
The best mine train coaster there is. It has a layout which stays interesting during the entire ride (altough it realises this by using 3 chain lifts)

Fun
This tries to emulate Big Thunder Mountain in Paris and it gets close ... but does no reach the Disney original (which has still a lot more detail and theming). Comparable to Calamity Mine in Walibi Belgium.
