Capacity Fun Smoothness Too short
Black Mamba is a great track. It is surprisingly smooth. Unfortunately the coaster itselves is a little short.
-
Inversions Fun Masterpiece Headbanging
Amazing!! Waiting times may be deceiving, it said 20 minutes but there was nobody in line so I went three times. The front row was the best!!!
-
First Drop Smoothness Too short
Definitely the best suspended coaster I've done so far. I love hanging below the track. I just wish the coaster was a bit faster and longer
-
Theming Layout Headbanging Disappointing! Intensity
I was expecting a lot of Black Mamba, after hearing all the stories. But I was kind of disappointed, perhaps I'm just not made for it. Today was the second time I could ride Black Mamba and after the first time a year ago I was kind of disappointed, but today it was way worse. Really I don't get the hype. The layout en the theming look amazing, maybe the best themed coaster in the park besides FLY. But it actually really hurt this time, I got a lot of headbanging. I hate to say it but this coaster is just not for me.
-
Theming Fun Smoothness
Very fun B&M invert. Almost no whip, but lots of good interaction with the terrain.
-
Theming Inversions Intensity
The only B&M Invert I have ridden, and it is good! The theming is world class but also the layout is not bad. It has some surprising intense positives, in particular in the front row. Try to ride the front row, it is by far the best in my opinion. I understand why some people might say it rattles, but I don´t think it is that bad
-
Theming Inversions Intensity Dead spots
Black Mamba is a very solid invert. Like most others of the model, I prefer it up front where it’s more intense and you’re able to appreciate the lush landscaping that accentuates the ride experience. Despite its modest stats and a bit of meandering towards the end, Black Mamba packs a punch and is a great ride.
-
Theming Inversions Pace Too short Harness
After only knowing Vekoma-SLCs as suspended coasters I was very pleased with the whole ride experience. Great theaming, nice drop, great inversions and very good pacing for this capacity monster ;-). Only downside for me is, that you see nothing during the ride if you sit in the middle of a row. We did not mange to get into the front row.
-
First Drop Inversions Intensity Rattle
Black Mamba is like all coasters at Phantasialand perfectly embedded into its african inspired world. What this coaster makes that intense is the fact, that the main part of the layout meanders below the walkways and remains hidden. The riders, especially in the backrows don't see, whats coming and the nice inversions, positive G's do their job perfectly. There are some footchopper as well, which are impressively scary. After 16 years of operation, there is a slight rattle at some points, but it's still not an uncomfortable ride. B&M and Phantasialand did a crazy job taking into account that there are strict height limits at Phantasialand to lower the main ride course below ground. Intense invert ride without any weak spots. Love it!
-
Theming Masterpiece Intensity
Love this ride. Not a drawn out long and massive b&m invert, but a shorter, twisty, low to the ground, intense experience. Do it in the front and you will get a new definition of what a head chopper or a near miss is. Sit In the back and you will have no idea what is coming since the whole layout is obscured from vision. Some say it kind of meanders towards the end, but actually the last part is designed to have a lot of downwards positive g's so your legs feel wobbly when you come of. This is in sink with the theme of a black mamba biting you and you slowly lose control and also sight, since you end the coaster in the dark.

Theming Capacity Inversions Rattle Too short
First row is an absolute blast. From the first row the theming is amazing!
-
Theming Fun Intensity
Black Mamba is a bit overshadowed by Taron and F.L.Y these days, but its still a kickass ride. The ride has tight turns and helixes, the snappy Corkscrews come out of nowhere and the whole thing is a constant foot chopper while you zoom over rocks, plants and water. Its over rather fast but nowadays the line isnt as long as when it was the only thrillcoaster at Phantasialand, so its pretty reridable which i like.
-
Theming Inversions Smoothness
This was my first B&M Invert and only the second Inverted Coaster after Limit, which I found to be atrocious. So I went on Black Mamba with mixed feelings. Those were as it turns out completely unfounded since I absolutely love this ride. First of all the theming is world class. The queue line is right next to the track and leads through a very skillfully designed African environment. It really helps to put you in the right mood for the ride. In terms of the riding itself there is much to offer too. The first drop is decent, the inverted looping, inversions and all other elements are super smooth and well paced. They also provide a lot of intensity, which I didn't expect. In general all of the elements feel well balanced out. Overall I must say that this B&M Inverted Coaster is much more enjoyable than the inferior Vekoma SLCs. Although I think Vekoma have nowadays learned their lesson since F.L.Y. which is also situated at Phantasialand manages to offer a very good and comfortable experience too. When you're at Phantasialand definetely don't miss out on this one.
-
Inversions Location Intensity Disappointing!
I know i tagged the ride as disappointing, but this does only apply to the second ride in the fifth row. My first ride in the Frontrow was awsome. The Inversions are quite intense, but what i loved most about the ride was the foot-chopping effect you will get, when going through the trenches Black Mamba is build in. This Interaction paired with the intense and disorrienting feeling you will get from the layout was really special. Unfortunately, this was missing on my ride in the fifth row.
-
Theming Intensity
When I first rode Black Mamba, I was very pleasantly surprised by this rides theming, smoothness and intensity. This ride pulls some strong positives which I think is the best thing about Black Mamba. However, now I've ridden a few more coasters and Black Mamba doesn't feel as good as it did when I first rode it, so it went down a few spots on my list. For the seating position, this is 100% a frontrow ride. You can see so much more of the theming. The problem with the other rows is that the train is so big you can't see anything, which is a shame.
-
Location Fun Intensity
Great B&M Invert, relentless positive G’s from start to finish that left me a little light headed after each ride along with plenty of great near miss moments. Doesn’t quite surpass Nemesis as my favourite invert but it’s close
-
First Drop Theming Masterpiece
Black Mamba is an excellent attraction with probably my second favourite first drop (just behind Troy). Black Mamba also features X very whippy inversions. This is defenitely a back-row ride. You get the greatest amount of forces here. The line never gets long. On my 3 day visit, the line didn't exceed 20 minutes, while FLY, Taron and River Quest regularly had a 40 to even 50 minutes waiting time. Black Mamba has by far the most beautiful queue I've ever seen, being an african jungle featuring a bridge, african buildings and waterfalls. The ride also interacts with the queue a lot giving great visuals for the people waiting. This ride is defenitely a must-ride when visiting Phantasialand, especially because it's never a long wait. Even if the line were to be 30 minutes, I'd say it would still be worth it. Good luck batteling the Black Mamba!

Fun Layout Duration
I remember this coaster, I got on once and kept running back to the line.. Beautiful really

Theming Intensity Disappointing!
This was a huge disappointment. I probably came with wrong expectations, but for some reason I expected great whip in the inversions, which were just floaty. As most inverts, the drop is quite pointless (it's more aggressive and enjoyable at the back), and the only good thing to say about it is the intensity, which is really high. All those turns, as well as the bottom of the drop and the loop, provide great positives, but that's just what the ride is about: positives, weakish inversion, turn with positives, calmed banking transition (required to survive) into another intense turn... The issue there is that I'm not a fan of positive G's (yeah, I may be weird), and I prefer airtime, hangtime, laterals and whip, so this ride simply didn't offer much. Well, the theming is awesome, of course, yet it doesn't stand out (Taron's and FLY's fault), and the near misses, although excellent, weren't as good as others at Phantasialand. First row is the only one to enjoy that, the views are great, and a first-row-queue is urgently required for this ride; however, it doesn't change the experience as much as on FLY. Nevertheless, I think I prefer the back by a tiny bit. Overall, maybe I just had (4) bad rides, because the coaster had some issues and it didn't open until later on the day, so, when I rode, it had hardly had time to warm up; however, I would have liked it to be more aggressive, especially at the inversions.
-
Theming Intensity Rattle Harness
Nice intense ride. But it gives a bit of a rattle and the restrains could offer more freedom (over the shoulder restrains)
-
Theming Intensity Rattle Too short
Honestly a really good invert, full of positives, the only problems are a bit of a rattle and also the queue, which is way too long and is always empty
-
-
First Drop Theming Intensity Dead spots
This is a very good invert. Phantasialand are the masters of theming, and Black Mamba is no exception, the whole Africa section, and the ride, look great. There's a nice drumming style soundtrack, that's quite light and fun in the area, but takes a more aggressive turn when the train dispatches the station. For me, the first drop is the big highlight, it's not massive but it's pretty steep and it whips you round to the right at the back of the train. The rest of the layout after that is the usual intense B&M invert stuff, although I thought the corkscrews really punched on this, very forceful. The only down side really, is it peters out at the end, you don't swing into the brake run with a lot of speed, but it's only a minor complaint really. Very enjoyable ride
-
Theming Inversions Pace
Where Phantasialand always has the restriction in height and noise due to the (complaining) neighbourhood, they have built with B&M an excellent coaster. Smooth as butter, awesome theming, good forces in all elements and the feeling you are a mamba by flying through those tunnels with some near misses really makes this a coaster that fits its name and theme.
-
Inversions Location Intensity
Phantasialand worked wonders with B&M to get this to fit in at all. Uses a narrower gauge track than many B&M's, which helps with the tight gaps and bends it has to negotiate. The trains are detectably narrower than other recent B&M's - but that's an incredibly picky point! Intensity is high and proximity effects abound. The pacing not quite so perfect as it's older brother Nemesis; the windy section at the end essentially an RCT-autocomplete to get home... But still, it's an incredible ride in a incredible park; that probably deserves more recognition overseas (memories of early 1990's school trips to Germany definitely do not echo what Phantasialand is now!)
-
Inversions Location Intensity
front row, amazing visuals. How they managed to feel like there is no drop yet there is a drop is awesome. Forceful helixes and vertical loop was thrown from my seat during it. Awesome trenched and scenery. Layout wouldn’t be super special without it but it makes it a good ride.
-
Theming Location Smoothness Headbanging
You can't usually go wrong with a B&M invert for me so I of course enjoyed this :) Pretty smooth as with all B&M's, the theming was pretty impressive and the rockwork all around the coaster is kind of crazy.. its a bit mad that there is a coaster with 4 inversions in that location, you can hardly see where the track goes ! the loop is fun as are the other inversions.. the near misses with the surrounding rock work really make it.
-
Inversions Location Layout
This terrain usage, It is simply amazing and theming is really good especially pre-show.
-
Capacity Intensity Smoothness
This ride is criminally underrated and I can't believe how nobody talks about it. It's a super intense ride and has phenomenal pacing. Really good inversions and really forceful helixes. It is embedded in phenomenal theming and it just looks so good. It's really comfortable and I don't mind the OTSRs, I actually think they improve the ride experience because they feel quite free compared to some other OTSRs I experienced. What a great first encounter with B&M Inverts. I now understand why enthusiast love this mode and I can't wait to ride more of them. I have a full Review on my YouTube if you want to hear more about my thoughts of this ride.
-
Theming Inversions
Cool coaster, very quite wild. Inversions aren't exactly my thing as they really mess me up in a bad way xD but it's a good coaster non the less!
-
Theming Inversions Intensity Too short
Really something else in the first row. The 4 Inversions appear very early in the Layout and in the 2nd Half you dont go upside down again, i wish it was spread a little more. Still an amazing ride with great, great theming
-
-
Theming Capacity Layout Intensity
Great ride with even greater theming. It was however a bit too intense for my taste.
-
Theming Pace Intensity
After three B&M Wing coasters, three Dive coasters and one Hyper coaster I was expecting something less intense. But my God! Black Mamba is very instense and I love intense coasters!
-
Theming Pace Fun
The best themed B&M invert out there. Very immersive theme! The ride is pretty fast paced and rushed very fast through these trenches. Its very smooth, has some intensity and is very fun to ride and even nice to look at Thrill: 3.5/5
-
Theming Pace Intensity Rattle
This roller coaster is beautiful. It's very intense, has an outstanding theming and feels way faster than it actually is. However i do find this to be a bit shaky the last time i visited the park, but it didn't hurt.
-
Capacity Inversions Intensity
Verry intense rollercoaster! Great theming. Good capacity. Ride IT in the front!
-
Theming Intensity Smoothness
This ride is often overshaded by Taron, but it is still a fantastic inverter: It is glossy smooth and very comfortable, the inversions are great fun (especially the Zero-G-Roll) and the turns provide really strong G-forces. Theming is extremely immersive and the whole area looks absolutely gorgeous. I also really like the station which is basically a cave built underground, which gets dark and plays very loud drumming music everytime a train dispatches. This feature raises the adrenaline level, especially if you don't know about it!
-
Theming Location Intensity
Insanely good B&M invert. The theming is really well executed and its amazing how you can barely see the ride from anywhere. Also I find it amazing how intense of a ride they can pack into the 26m height. The last helix is amazing and just as good as the enclosed brakerun in a cave.
-
Theming Inversions Intensity Rattle Headbanging
Very good ride with excellent Theming, but Headbanging especially in the Backrow!
-
Theming Inversions Smoothness Too short Dead spots
Very intense B&M coaster, great themeing at a good pace. - Seems a bit too short at times though.
-
Theming Smoothness Capacity
Having only ridden a vekoma inverted coaster, I was afraid for a headache after this one. But this coaster is so smooth, and the near misses with the scenery made it an amazing thrill ride. No headaches here!
-
Theming Inversions Intensity
Probably the best smaller-scale B&M invert in the world. The theming is world-class, with an incredible amount of fantastic near misses. While I generally would prefer a larger-scale invert like Katun, for an invert of this size I think it is perfect. The layout to me does not feature a particular highlight, but flows very well and is consistently extremely forceful. Slamming into the pitch black indoor brake run is another fantastic effect. Best experienced in the front row, though the drop is fantastic for its size in the back.
-
Is ok, funny
-
First Drop Comfort Duration Rattle Disappointing! Intensity
Very shaky for a B&M and lacks intensity after the first inversion.
-
Inversions Masterpiece Intensity
The scenery, the ride, the intensity. I just love this ride.
-
Theming Pace Intensity
Intensity,phenomenal theming,great pacing - What's not to love ?
-
-
Theming Inversions Intensity Intensity
Absolutely great setting for the B&M inverter - which seems to hurl and burrow through the ground. Lots of near-miss effects. Unfortunately, for me, the coaster is a little bit too intense.
-
Theming Fun Intensity
Black Mamba is more intense than it seems. The interactions with the surrounding scenery is really impressive, and it is generally smooth. However, the layout isn't the most original and it lacks the "wow" factor other inverts have.
