I remember my mom telling me the massive new roller coaster they were building at my then local park only had a height requirement of 48 inches, meaning I could ride it when it opened. Great ride, even after a 3 hour queue going out the entrance. Only wish it were longer because it is way too short.

I didn’t get to ride Goliath until its third season of operation. Back then, they printed out tickets to give you in line that you would then show the ride-ops at the front of the line. It was weird. Ever since my first ride I’ve came to love Goliath. I think I used to under appreciate how good it was. I never had any distaste for it but there were other rides like X-Flight, Raging Bull and so on that I would make sure to get every visit and Goliath initially wasn’t on that list. Goliath is a freakin beast. It set the record as the world’s fastest wooden coaster upon opening and definitely feels like it. This thing rips through its course. The ejector hill is the best element in my opinion. The first drop is good, but not amazing. The two inversions are good. Even the two overbanks I always enjoy. And the weird transition into the brake run I’ve always found to be a bit humorous. And no, this didn’t morph into a review of Pegasus at Mount Olympus. Goliath retains a ton of steam going into that brake run so it can sometimes give weird forces going into it. With all that speed left and a short track length it could theoretically have fit in more elements. Keep in mind this is on the plot of a small B&M standup coaster, retaining the same station (and you can see Iron Wolf’s row markers under the paint.) There are so many people who complain about the length. There are tons of morons who say it’s the “worst RMC” and while it is currently my second-ranked out of two, it’s a completely pointless statement to make. This is RMC. All their coasters have been great to some extent. It’s not worth putting down one for only being a 9/10 ride. If you’d rather have Iron Wolf, I’m sure Six Flags America would appreciate the extra profit. I don’t see anyone complain that Top Thrill Dragster was too short, or even something like Montezooma’s Revenge. So I don’t get why this gets hated on, along with Twisted Cyclone. Everything else about it is great. Sorry that it’s not Steel Vengeance, or Zadra, or Wicked Cyclone. If everything was a perfect ten, nothing would be. If you’d rather skip it, then shorter lines for me. I’d happily ride this all day. Goliath is an amazing ride and it’s super re-rideable. Here’s to many more rides in the future, where it will continue to blow me away each time.

It's a RMC coaster but I don't understand how it’s rated the best Coaster at Great America when it's my least favorite RMC? No longer my least favorite RMC, lighting Rod is. Yeah the Zero-G Stall is excellent and overbanks, then crazy tunnels the first drop is the best part but RMC has made better rides though out the years.

When I first rode it years ago it was revolutionary, but now that so many RMCs exist it’s probably lowest ranked but it’s still an RMC and I’ve yet to ride a bad one. First drop is great, the hang time on the stall is fun and there’s some ejector in there as well. Cons, it’s short, not as intense as other RMCs and seems to be a slight rattle now though still very minimal and not really bothersome. Best ride in the park still. SFGA could really use a big long coaster but just doesn’t have the space I don’t think?

Its been 4 months since i was at that park, and yet, i still get chills from it. the first drop was great from any seat in the coater, and it only got better, adn over banked turn, shortly followed by an insane ijector hill. the dive loop was best from the front, but packed a punch from any spot. coming out of that is the element that I will never forget. the zero g stall was increadible, and is my favorite inversion ever. when i go back, if i go back, im riding this one. top 3 favorites eazily.

Every element on this ride feels like your taking it way to fast and they could if made it longer. The stall and the dive loop give great moments of hangtime. It’s also really annoying that the banked turns are kinda wasted elements. Great coaster just way to short.

The first drop is awesome and is in my top 10 drops. But after that it just doesn't have the creative combination of elements found on other RMCs. It's also over too quickly. After each ride, I thought, "That's it??" So, out of 19 RMCs I've ridden, this comes in at #19. It's still fun and it's my favorite coaster at SFGAm, but it's a ride that always leaves me wanting more.

This version of Goliath is an RMC, and it is the definition of short but sweet. Sustained ejector airtime, a rare RMC dive loop, the worlds first mind blowing Zero-G Stall, excellent overbanks, awesome tunnels, consistent pacing, and an excellent first drop. Plus, it's smooth and comfortable. This one is hard to skip on a visit to SF Great America.

After having ridden Zadra and Untamed, both of which are world-class rides, Goliath just left me feeling a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's still a solid ride! The first drop and another hill later on offer some great ejector airtime and the rest of the elements are just great fun. Especially love me some zero-G stalls! But yeah, RMC has created much better rides over the years.

This is unfortunately the worst RMC I’ve ridden, however that doesn’t mean it’s bad. In fact it can still be a good ride, which it is. The first drop is fun, though overrated. The stall is pretty fun. And the other random hills & inversions are good but there’s just such few elements on this ride. It is maybe my favorite in the park even though I sound like I’m badmouthing it. It is a very good ride, just don’t expect a newer RMC.

I believe this one is the best coaster in the park. I've ridden it at least 5 times and will always come off shaking because of how intense it is. The lift hill alone gets my nerves going because it's so steep. Outside of Hangtime at Knott's Berry Farm, the lift hill generates the most nerves for me personally. The first drop is absolutely incredible. I've sat in plenty of different rows but the back row is where it's at for the drop (pretty much for all RMCs as well). The first looping right turn is a bit boring but completely understandable given the small area to work with. Once you hit the hills you'll get absolutely fantastic ejector airtime. The zero-g stall is also incredible and probably my second favorite part of the ride outside of the first drop. It would be a bit better if the stall was slower but I still got some great hangtime. As most people said, it's one of the shorter RMCs and could use a little bit of length but also has incredible elements that make this a fantastic ride. 4.5/5 stars

I just wish there was another element or two to really complete the ride. My #8 out of 11 RMCs I've ridden.

The first drop on this RMC is NUTS. I’ve only been on this and Iron Gwazi so far as far as RMCs, but the drops achieve different purposes. Goliath seems to be going more for a “speed drop/claustrophobic layout with the coaster pylons” thing, whereas Gwazi just wants you to savor that sweet sweet height and drop angle. Goliath is intense, smooth, and has some solid ejector seat moments after that, but like others have noted it’s way too short and the rest of the layout is nowhere near as iconic as that first drop. It’s easily my favorite coaster at Great America though and worth multiple rides.

Dommage qu’il manque juste ces quelques mètres à Goliath pour qu’il soit vraiment le Coaster qui mette SFGAm dans tous les Trips sur la Côte Est… (même si c’est déjà du niveau « Élite+ » selon moi). La First Drop est très bonne au dernier rang sans être du niveau de celle d’un IG, les virages relevés passent très bien, le Dive Loop est OK et la cerise sur le gâteau est vraiment ce Zero G-Stall qui m’a paru presque meilleur que celui de Zadra ! Seule la bosse à airtime est un peu décevante : pas le gros Ejector attendu… Notons qu’il est quand difficile d’arriver ne serait qu’à la cheville du quatuor IG/LG/SteVen/Zadra donc c’est quand même du lourd. Certains ont noté les effets du vieillissement du Topper Track mais ils sont passés inaperçus chez moi !

This layout is also really fast paced, something you don’t get very much of on RMC’s. Seriously this had Steel Vengance and Iron Gwazi level pacing. However, this ride was too short and I am especially mad because picnic grove (which barely anyone uses) takes up most of the space that Goliath could’ve taken more of

Ahh what to say about Goliath?! Is 'fastest wooden rollercoaster' enough?! That first drop is insane. The entire ride is insane, from start to finish. For once I'm writing up a relatively short review for a masterpiece of a coaster. A real bummer it's not longer. RMC does not disappoint yet again. If you skip you might as well go home! This is one of the best rides SFGAm has to offer!

Goliath is as of today my favorite coaster, I just had the wonderful opportunity of going to Six Flags Great America on it's opening day and got to ride 4 different coaster for the first time as an enthusiast (it is my homepark so I have ridden all of them before) so now it is time to give it a review and to begin let's start with the cons. Goliath has two real cons and those are that as of this review seats are assigned but I believe that you can request a row however I did not because I got assigned near the back both times. The ride's biggest con however has to be it's duration, this ride is far to short and there is not really much else that can be said about this. Now moving on to the pros and there are many of these so to begin let's start with the wonderful first drop, this drop is all you want it to be and more. The drop is taken at an 85 degree angle and is 180ft which is 15 feet longer then the actual height of the ride. You are ejected over this drop in the back (as I said before can't say anything about the front yet) and it feels like you are falling for awhile before you reach the valley. The second pro of Goliath is it's several ejector airtime points which are: the aforementioned drop, the first airtime hill, and the pullout of the second 90 degree banked turn, these moments make this ride what it is and I love it. The third and final notable pro is the 2 wonderful inversions which are a dive loop which is great and a stall which is fantastic and was actually the first ever zero-G stall and I love this element and it is in my opinion the best inversion in the park. overall my opinion on Goliath is that it is positively the best ride in the park and I would give it a solid 8.5/10. The only thing that holds this ride back from a better rating is it's length but it is in a small plot of land so they did the best they could.l

First let me say, what a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE name. How many Goliath's does Six Flags need? Just dumb. This was my first RMC--I went the first weekend it was open to the public several years ago. The wait was ridiculous, mainly because they were only operating 1 train and also because no one understood the loading procedure. Several people per train were too large to get the restraint light to go on or off for the operators and every time they complained and argued that they don't want to get off after waiting for well over an hour. They just kept pleading with the operators to keep crushing them harder until the light does what it needs to. It never worked. It just slowed things down even more. The ride itself was a new experience as RMC's are definitely unique. The best way I can describe how it felt was to say that it felt like we were riding on a puddle of pudding. It was just so perfectly smooth. The first drop is fantastic, not other worldly, but very, very good. A couple of the floaters were again, very good, but not the absolute best. The zero G stall takes this from just a good ride, and elevates it to an excellent one. Truly unique maneuver that is so slow you can't believe it while you are on it. It is by far the best element of the coaster. Overall a very good coaster, but not quite a top 20 of mine.

Many people complain about this ride being too short but length doesn't really matter to me if the ride packs in great elements which this ride certainly does
