Launch Rattle Too short Disappointing!
"Rattly Rita", like I used to call this coaster during our visit, was probably the biggest disappointment at Alton Towers: I didn't have high expectations at all, I expected it to be a fun little coaster with a powerful launch like Desert Race (which I actually enjoyed) - but the experience here was underwhelming: The launch was pretty snappy as expected (just like the one at Heide Park), but while Desert Race keeps its pace pretty well and rides smoothly, Rita dies down from here. After the forceful first turn, it loses speed very quickly and the layout doesn't do much. That would not be such a letdown when this coaster would not have this annoying rattle, which is present on both trains and makes this experience quite uncomfortable. Dispatches were pretty slow compared to Stealth, and it always had one of the longest lines of the day. I strongly recommend riding this coaster as early as possible, because of the waiting times and like all hydraulic launch coaster, it tends to break down quite often...

Pace Fun Disappointing! Intensity
yeah i unapologetically rated spinball over this. i don't think it's anything atrocious but after the first launch it really does a whole lot of nothing. it just has a lot of speed that it doesn't do much with.

Nice surprise! Launch Headbanging Intensity
I first went on when I was 11. When the ride started the force just baring my head forward. I spent the entire ride eyes closed, mouth closed and head down. I opened my eyes once when we were passing 13. That caused me to bang my head. Not on the back of the seat though. The safety bar! I couldn’t lift my head up. The force was way to strong for me. 60mph in 2.5secs! I was too petrified to even scream. My whole body just sort of left control. Once the ride started to slow down I screamed the F word. I don’t usually swear but my dad let me because he thought it was a good time to do it. Although I had a sort of bad time. I loved the feeling. When I was older I made sure to use the safety bar as support to keep my head back. And I really enjoyed it! You just have to be careful on it.

Launch Intensity Capacity Dead spots
Pretty fast launch, pretty boring layout. The first banked turn is very good, but there’s not too much of note after that. Always has long queues which I can never quite understand.

Launch Intensity Harness Layout
Not too much to say about this. The first time I rode this I was on the front row and it was my first ever thrill coaster. The launch completely blew me away and the light rain managed to make me feel like I had just gotten at least 6 layers of skin taken off my face. As I started riding it more however the ride lost it's original flare. The launch and the first airtime moment is still as gut-busting as ever but the rest of the layout is simply meh.

Airtimes Lap Bar Launch Layout
Rita is just alright. Nothing much else to say really. Nice launch, some good moments of floater, but that's all tbh. Still an ok ride, but nothing too special.

Lap Bar Nice surprise! Location Too short Discomfort Intensity
The ride is very short and made me feel sick. The launch blew my face off on blast off and never going on it again. Not relaxing, the drops, deeper and more intense as I get anxiety, panic attacks my stomach dropped. scarier than I thought. I don't do great on rollercoasters this was too much for me. Que took a very long time standing there for about an hour The ride needs repainting, the red is fading and is getting old. Very rough for it's age and I would be happy for the ride to go.

Launch Pace Fun Too short Airtimes
I don't know why people hat this so much... it's decent! Ok it's quite short and the airtimes don't feel like airtime but it was FUN! Also the launch was a surprise and good pacing. overall a good ride! Stop hating pls.

Launch Intensity Harness Discomfort Dead spots
Very controversial ride this one. On blue train it’s not that bad, not rough but not smooth. Slightly uncomfortable but it’s bearable. Needs lap bars. Purple train however is unbearably rough and uncomfortable. I think Rita needs new trains with lap bars ASAP or they just knock it down and replace it with an Intamin blitz or something. Really don’t know

Airtimes Launch Rattle Capacity Layout
Rita gets one star for the launch, and another for the front row. Anywhere else though, it's a rattly, boring and sometimes quite painful 30 seconds of your life. In a park full of unique, exciting and thrilling, it really does stick out as none of those. It'll be a happy day when it gets replaced, but seeing as it retains some of the biggest queues in the park, i can't see that happening any time soon unfortunately

Airtimes Launch Fun Harness Layout
Rita on the front row is class. You can really feel the speed and seeing the red track for the anticipation for the launch is great. The layout itself is quite short and takes a few fun turns which makes you embrace the wind blowing into your face. There is airtime during the twisted airtime hills and brake run but not much of it. The ride would also highly benefit from lap bars because the OTSRs are unnecessary and obstructing.

Airtimes Launch Capacity
Out of all the coasters at Alton Towers, Rita had the longest line. If you want to ride Rita, I'd say do it first thing in the morning. As far as the ride goes it's quite good. Hydraulic launches are my favorite and Rita's kicks off the ride on a high note. After that intense launch the coaster goes into a figure eight pattern with floater airtime hills in between the turns. After a few of those the ride ends, however it doesn't feel short the same way some other rides (Oblivion) do. I'd say it's the sleeper hit of Alton Towers.

Launch Headbanging Too short
This is a coaster with a very good launch and a decent ride experience, it could just do with being a bit longer.
-
Launch Fun Intensity
Breathtaking launch, and the airtime hills afterwards are taken at breakneck speeds which makes Rita very intense and forceful. I’m a big fan, and find it very re-rideable. The only con for me is the lack of inversions, even a couple of corkscrews would have put the ride on another level for me.

Airtimes Launch Intensity Too short
This ride has a great launch, fast pace, decent airtime, and intense bends. The restraints are a bit bulky, and T Bars would do just fine on it. Enjoyable when riding, but when you get off, you kinda just feel empty inside.
-
Launch Pace Intensity Too short Theming Harness
It keeps its speed throughout the ride, good launch and quite intense. I don't understand the people who say to tear it down despite it not being a great Towers coaster because since it's basically entirely over path, nothing could really replace it unless the park got extremely creative, but even then it'd be very difficult to replace.

Airtimes Launch Too short Theming Harness
With lap bars this'd be much more enjoyable. Two airtime hills are the best part of the ride. Doesn't fit in the area at all. Should probably be replaced
-
Launch Fun Ejectors Rattle Too short Harness
Definitely the most underrated ride at Towers. Sure it doesn't match up to all the other rides there but to me I think its quite overhated. That hydraulic launch is nice and intense, which is obviously expected from a hydraulic launch, and those hills actually gave me some ejector airtime. It is very short, and I'm not a huge fan of the restraints, and it isn't the smoothest ride, but I do think it is overhated. Rita always gives me a nice fun experience and thats what I mainly look for in a coaster.

Launch Too short Theming Harness
This ride is OK. The launch is good, I have heard you get airtime on entry to the brakes but I didn't notice any. Its cons are hard to ignore first there's the fact that the harness is one of the worst Intamin has made and that's saying something, second there's the fact that there is little theming around the ride especially compared to other coasters at the park such as Nemesis, Smiler and Wicker man which are extremely well themed and lastly the thing only lasts 25 seconds making it one of the shortest rides by duration in the world. In my opinion Alton Towers should replace it with either an Intamin Blitz coaster similar to Taron at Phantasialand or a thrilling flat ride which Alton Towers seems to be lacking

Launch Too short Theming Disappointing!
Good launch. Disappointing layout, theming, too short and a letdown.
-
Launch Theming Pointless Layout
The launch is pretty cool and fast and all but the ride itself is lame. It is a turn, a meh twisted airtime, turn, meh twisted airtime hill, turn and so on. The hill before the brake may be the best airtime moment you get.

Launch Rattle Headbanging Too short
Not a patch on Stealth. The launch isn't quite as intense (though still fun), and the rough ride through the corners can cause headbanging. It feels like it needs some sort of signature element, but instead it just goes round in circles for a while and ends unspectacularly.

Launch Too short Discomfort Layout
Not going to lie, until I rode coasters like Taron, Helix, Red Force, Icon etc, I enjoyed Rita. Now I just find it so dull. Yes the launch is a fantastic launch, but that really is all there is to it. When you can ride rides like Taron, that do the launch well, plus lots of other great elements, or Red Force which has an ok launch, great top speed, some serious height and a brilliant drop, I’m afraid Rita no longer stands up well.
-
Airtimes Launch Smoothness Harness
Great ride. I like it not too long. It really doesn’t lose pace in annoying places like icon. I would like it if o have a lap bar though
-
Launch Disappointing! Dead spots Layout
The launch is great, could have done a lot better with the layout if they just tightened everything up for a more forceful ride.
-
Launch Harness
OK launch, and forget the rest - does essentially nothing with all that speed. I doubt Rita will outlive any of the other Intamin Accelerators, the site it's on is one of the few locations in the towers where development is permissible above the treeline.
-
Launch Too short Theming
Excellent launch, and there is some airtime to be had. However the layout isn't exciting and too short. Rita does not fit in at all with Thirteen and the surrounding area.
