Airtimes First Drop Masterpiece
A masterpiece on its own. One of the most fun coasters I´ve ever ridden, no doubt. A legendary coaster, I like to call it the airtime machine. It´s the coaster with most airtime I´ve experienced in my life and the lapbar makes it even better. First drop is breathtaking and layout is crazy even with no inversions. Fast, good pace and with really surprising theming elements such as the water area. It features some elements related with Nepal and the Himalaya zone. You won´t get tired of riding it, believe me. Only bad thing is that it always has massive waiting times reaching even two and a half hours. This can be fixed by using the single rider line, so no problem at all with this. Great coaster with great views to all the Costa Daurada. Ride it on the sunset, thank me later

Fantastic coaster, if you can go back row, the whip is incredible!

The magic Shambhala!!! This coaster is absolutely incredible, it's so fun and fast but really fast the first drop is pure magic! One of my favourites roller coaster ever

Airtimes Comfort Smoothness Intensity
Shambala is a classic B&M Hyper Coaster. An airtime machine with beautiful design and color scheme. The hills are so perfectly balanced that you enjoy seconds of floater airtime and hardly notice when you touch the seat again. It's the perfect floater. The ride is as smooth as it can be on a coaster, and the turnaround element looks great. However, you shouldn't expect ejector airtime or aggressive turns and lateral forces. It is a relaxing ride, we enjoyed 15 rides in one day.

Airtimes First Drop Comfort
Oh my god, I had good expectations before I went on shambhala and after my first ride on the back row, I could say it exceeded those expectations, the airtime is amazing and the first drop, right now it's my number 1 I preferred it to red force, it towers dragon khan another an amazing b&m but shambhala is just better, if you haven't been to portaventura GOOOOOO BOOK A FLIGHT
-
Airtimes First Drop Fun
The ride is very fun with lots of floater airtimes. The first drop is also nice. Compared to similar rides from Intamin (e.g. Hyperion) the rider has nearly no forces. Despite it's height it is very tame and a ride for the while family.
-
Airtimes Smoothness Layout Capacity
Floater airtime ultimate masterpiece. Not my favorite kind of thrills, but certainly the best of its style. Operations could use improvement as trains often stack on the final break sections.

Perfect coaster, because Hypercoasters are the best!

Airtimes First Drop Layout
This ride is absolutely awesome and the turnaround after the first camelback is crazy. There are some good floater airtime moments, and the first drop is pretty good too. So this ride is easily a 5/5 star coaster, but I have to admit, I somewhat expected it to be better
-
Airtimes First Drop Capacity Rattle Too short
I rode this beast during a very hot summer day, couldnt have any better conditions to pull up the best from this ride. However i found it pretty underwhelming. The drop and the first hill makes the layout, after this i felt frustrated all along. It has some intensity toward the front rows (which in my opinions felt better than in the back), but the airtimes were lacking of a woaw effect, the first hill makes its point because it is sustained, but i was frustrated by the floaty feeling. The dynamic amplitude between morning and afternoon is huge, only around 2pm the ride is showing up its fierce. The ride was rattling, sometimes a bit agressively to my taste (not forgetting that is a world class b&m hyper with a layout glass smooth). The fault might have to be PA maintenance, trying to save on the wheels probably. Dispatch every 5min, yey.
-
Airtimes Masterpiece Duration
Still my number 1. Flawless from start to end. The airtime, the pacing, the comfort and the layout make for my favourite rollercoaster.
-
First Drop Comfort Fun
This coaster is b&m best coaster in Europe, that first drop into a tunnel is picaresque but also amazing to ride the first couple Camelback give good floater the turnaround is really unique and then the speed Hill gives a ejecta the best thing about this ride in the sense of speed you get 10/10
-
Airtimes First Drop Masterpiece
Pros: The lift hill is fast, giving you less time to worry about the ride. The first drop delivers constant airtime, and the hills after do. The 8-shaped helix delivers the positives, the splashdown is a nice and short brake and the ride ends with a turnaround and some more airtime hills. Cons: are you really looking for cons about this masterpiece? 10/10 this should be your bucket list coaster

Airtimes First Drop Layout
Shambhala is a beast. It was really busy so I only rode it ones on the back row, but wow!!! The floater airtime on this thing is amazing!!! I have to say there were some spot who weren't as powerful as the other ones, but in the back row it was still good. The pacing of this thing makes the ride even more better.
-
Airtimes First Drop Comfort Dead spots
this is for sure the best v-train hyper, and the third best b&m hyper behind mako and fury. there is a mind-blowing speed hill in the middle of the layout that i had no idea about and i was blown away. seriously great ride. my only issue is the ride dies at the midcourse brakes. i wish it would keep its momentum after that.
-
Airtimes First Drop Smoothness
Absolutely outstanding coaster, only managed to get 2 rides in as queues were quite long but this thing really blew me away. It was my first ever B&M Hyper so I hadn’t experienced that long floaty airtime that they’re known for before and I loved every second of it (some of it seemed to border on ejector) it’s perfectly smooth and the lap bars give plenty of room to experience all of that airtime to the max

Airtimes First Drop Masterpiece
(Updated from last year's review): Ahh Shambhala! Where to start? Quite literally a MASTERPIECE! From start to finish, this rollercoaster will leave you in awe of how great it is. Definitely the best B&M hyper. Even better at night. The first drop is nothing like I've experienced before on any coaster, extremely smooth. This is one of the only coasters where I can say it is ENJOYABLE to go on. There's absolutely ZERO discomfort, there's no way anyone can feel lightheaded after going on this. Overall the best rollercoaster in Europe (arguably in the world) in my opinion, and one of the best B&Ms in general. DO NOT THINK OF SKIPPING! Went on it 8 times in one day (with the express of course, lol) and didn't even feel a scratch! Can't say many coasters didn't leave me with a headache after going on them 8 times!

Espectacular montaña rusa, muchos airtimes y larga.

First Drop Lap Bar Smoothness Intensity
A very good coaster for the whole family with a nice first drop and a good subsequent layout. I like the restraints, especially on the outer seats since they do not obscure the view. Although the lap bar can be a bit uncomfortable when too tight. The ride itself is very nice but not as forceful as I had hoped. There are almost no positive Gs and the airtime is almost entirely slight floater airtime. Hyperion at Energylandia takes a similar approach and delivers a (for me) much more enjoyable riding experience. Nevertheless it is a very good coaster that I would put in the same category as Goliath at Walibi Holland and it is definitely worth a few rides when you're at PortAventura.
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors
This was my first hypercoaster and dayuuuum what an experience!! You can't beat the constant sustained floater airtime on this beast. My ass literally got off the seat!! I had never experienced airtime like this before I felt completely weightless! I'm quite skinny so there was a lot of space between my legs and the lap bar to the point where I actually got scared and concerned I was gonna fall out the first time I rode it! I kept trying to push it down but it wouldn't go any further!
-
Airtimes First Drop Comfort
By far the best ride at the park. My Number 1 right now.
-
Airtimes First Drop
Easily the best ride at Portaventura. Godly first drop, great floater and incredible speed. On top of that you also get a cool splash down thingy. One of the best colour schemes on a coaster aswell. I don’t have many credits but currently this is my no 1, and I imagine it will be like that for a while.
-
First Drop Capacity Location
shambhala is one of my favroite rides from the airtime to the great location to the the amazing first drop! its one of my favroite rides i love the air time and the intensity its kinda funny that i feel the Gs better on this ride than Expedition GeForce but i felt disappointment because this is my first b&m hyper and i was expecting a bit to much dose it mean the ride is bad? no! it a great ride its just im the problem 9/9
-
Airtimes First Drop Smoothness
Shambhala is absolutely gorgeous; the location is great because you can see the Mediterranean Sea and mountains in the distance! The first drop is absolutely amazing because it has a free-falling sensation as you are experiencing sustained floater before you get blasted with positive g forces as you go through a tunnel. The figure eight turnaround is so smooth and gives very good positive forces. Every airtime hill delivers with amazing and sustained floater that lasts for a few seconds and there is one speed hill after the turnaround where you experience sustained flojector. The splashdown is great and so is the ending because the mcbr never seems to activate and you get good positives from the turnaround out of it and 2 final pops of floater into the brakes. The restraints are extremely comfortable and because the airtime is so good, it doesn't matter if you get stapled. One of the best and smoothest coasters I have ever ridden.
-
Airtimes Lap Bar Masterpiece Inversions
First time I went near the front and I was disappointed, but at the back it is a completely different experience and jumps straight into my favourites of all time. The airtime is absolutely incredible, and the feeling when you get pulled over that first drop is almost indescribable - you feel like you are definitely going to fall out thanks to the brilliant lap bars. (Do be warned - if you have really really long legs or are quite big, you will NOT fit so maybe check the restrictions before you go. I saw at least 3 people unable to ride). It has incredible views of the park as you go round, and is also quite long, with relatively fast operations (if they are running two trains!). The section through the water spray is also a nice touch. An amazing experience that you should not miss. Only con I can think of is it’s maybe missing an inversion somewhere? But I don’t really think it needs it, it’s a phenomenal ride.
-
Airtimes First Drop Disappointing!
This was my #1 after riding it last year, had plenty of back to back rerides with little queues. I went back on it yesterday and came off with the biggest coaster headache i've ever had, which lasted all day long. The first drop & camel back were still amazing, but then we hit the turnaround section, after which I was too focused on the pounding, dull headache to enjoy the rest of the layout. Completely different experience than when i rode it before. Now i can safely say Hyperion is the superior hyper coaster
-
Airtimes Comfort Duration
Perfection. I've had 100's of rides on Shambhala, in every seat no doubt. But nothing, and I mean nothing comes close to a back row ride on Shambhala (although it's phenomenal in every row, therefore justifying the 5 stars). My last ride was around 8pm after a hot day, the sun was setting over Salou, there was a light haze in the air. Climbing the lift hill whilst looking over at the sea, glittered with the pink and red flecks of the setting sun contrasting against the greenery of the golf courses, etc. I love how as a result of the train length and stadium seating, the back row starts to accelerate before cresting the hill, and what happens afterwards is just pure rollercoaster euphoria..... Colossal first drop, floating all the way down, the airtime is so crazy it makes the head chopper of the tunnel more impactful. Second hill, BOOM, massive flojector again. Unique and foreceful turnaround follows next. Speed hill, ejector. Another big camelback into the splashdown, sensational, floating all the way. More airtime hills. Just epic, in every way.

Doesn't let up the whole ride, this is how a smooth coaster should be done. Speed and airtimes.

Airtimes First Drop Smoothness Harness
This ride is amazing. It currently sits as my number 2 coaster. The first drop and the hang time you get is insane and the rest of the ride is very well paced, floaty and smooth. The theming is nice and fits very well with the rest of the “China” area of PortAventura Park. The airtime is definitely not ejector and very much floater as you kind of ebb and flow in and out of your seat rather than get forced out like in a lot of compact coasters like the Intamin Blitz or Mack Mega Coaster but that definitely isn’t a bad thing, the floater airtime is great. The sheer height of this coaster is rather daunting as a UK based enthusiast as we aren’t as lucky with our coasters in terms of height (unless you count The Big One but… yuck). The only downside to this coaster is the clamshell restraints (despite allowing a very exposed experience) are extremely uncomfortable if you’re on the larger side. I’m familiar with the fact that at PortAventura, they require 3 clicks on this coaster rather than the typical 2 clicks on most other B&M Hyper Coasters so that may just be a park issue but yes it can be very uncomfortable. I just about managed to get on with a push from the ride host (you should be fine though as this wasn’t a one off, I had multiple rides). Just be careful that on that third click, prepare for pain in the legs. Other than that, a world class airtime filled ride

Airtimes First Drop Smoothness
The height of this boy took my breath away. For a first time in many years I had a sudden feeling of hestitation and fear once the chain lift passes Dragon Khan and keeps ascending. The speed is thrilling, its as smooth as butter on ice (Dutch saying translated) and everything feels so grand. For what it was designed for, this is outstanding for its layout.
-
Airtimes First Drop Lap Bar
Exceeded expectations (which were rather low despite its popularity after Silver Star's huge disappointment). The location is outstanding, with that gorgeous color scheme, mixed up with the Dragon, and they both can be seen from almost every corner of the park. It looks impressive, especially when walking under it through the Himalayan area, and it's highly comfortable: really smooth, and great trains, providing freedom, comfort, nice views from every seat (thanks to the staggered seating). Those B&M clamshells enhance the already awesome experience. The first drop is one of the best I've ever ridden, and the airtime is way better than in Silver Star (actually, all the forces are stronger). Front rows provide more sustained floater, whereas the back ones offer stronger airtime at the drops. The speed hill gives some really strong airtime, great at every row, and, together with the drop, it's my favourite part of the ride. Overall, a magnificent coaster with great airtimes, duration, comfort, look and drop, which didn't get repetitive nor boring as expected after more than ten rerides (11).

Airtimes First Drop Comfort
ITS SO FUN. Insane airtime, insane drops, super smooth, super open and free, well themed. This ride knocks it out of the park. Incredible
-
Airtimes Masterpiece Smoothness
Some of the best sustained floater airtime, not really any negatives of the ride, probably the best coaster in Spain.
-
Still a great ride but one of the weaker hypers for airtime
-
Airtimes Smoothness Theming Intensity
Shambhala really does one thing very well, and that's it. If you want anything from this layout other than airtime you're riding the wrong ride, outside of airtime, there's really nothing else. However, if you're a fan of airtime, this ride has it in spades - wonderful floater in super sustained amounts, nothing more you could want from a ride like this.
-
Airtimes Comfort Smoothness
I expected this ride to be really good, but it was top notch: it might not be particularly intense, but is glossy smooth, extremely comfortable and offers an amazing experience in every seat. If you have a little bit of room between you and your restraint, the amount of airtime is extremely high. Yeah, it is mostly floater and a little flojector at the small speed hill, but is so enjoyable. The "awesome curve" (or whatever this large turnaround resembling a giant "&" is called) looks is very impressive both to look at and to ride - it is a more creative way for a switchback than your traditional horseshoe. Additionally, this coaster is beautiful to look at - the color scheme both of track and trains looks very elegant. There is some light theming, but it still looks pretty neat for a coaster of this size. I highly recommend this graceful coaster to every enthusiast - especially the airtime lovers!
-
Airtimes First Drop Comfort
Shambhala is a fantastic ride at a fantastic park. It offers so much airtime, ranging from the first camelback and the amazing speed hill to the lesser hills at the end of the layout. This ride also does an amazing job of mixing positives and negatives. There are those floaty hills, and then in between you have intense valleys as well as that turnaround. Shambhala does die down a bit in the second half, but that still doesn’t stop it from being an amazing attraction.

Airtimes Capacity Smoothness Dead spots
Shambhala has the most floater airtime of any coaster that I have ever been on. I never got the ride on the front or the back thanks to assigned seating, but it was still absolute euphoria.
-
Airtimes Location Smoothness
I rode this beautiful ride last year for the first time on a nice Septembre evening, And i was sold to this amazng coaster with nice Airtime and great lay out. It was this weekend a busy day but with a few waiting times for half an hour this was worth it. The ride is in my top 20 at number 10 and is my fav B&M Hyper coaster so far i ridden (not Giga included). I recommend this ride if you are near by.
-
Airtimes Lap Bar Masterpiece
Perfect ride all round. No complaints about any of it, maybe the operations could be a bit better but that's a park issue not a ride issue. Worth the trip to spain for
-
Airtimes First Drop Comfort Dead spots
Absolute god-tier floater and some decent positives but very little else. Night rides are an absolute highlight, that is the best time to ride this by a long shot, there is a part of me that wouldn't even bother during the day.
-
Airtimes Comfort Fun Intensity
God Tier B&M hyper, great first drop, tonnes of pristine floater and a near ejector speed hill also adds to a fantastic skyline in the park and is generally visually gorgeous.
-
Airtimes Location Smoothness
My favourite B&M Hyper-Coaster. Great Airtime and the Location and Look of the Coaster is incredible.
-
Airtimes Lap Bar Smoothness
This is difficult to rate for me, as it is obviously a high-quality flagship coaster, but nothing it does really excites me. The train design is great for a very open and exposed feeling, which the loose lap bars enhance that are safer than they feel. The views from the lift hill are fantastic and the Spanish climate also adds to the generally comfortable experience. Next in line is a pretty good drop accumulating a lot of speed, but then my problems with the ride begin. I was very excited to experience the floater hills everyone raves about, but I quickly realised I'm an ejector type of person. These hills do nothing for me but add at least a certain purpose to the gentle high-speed-cruising. The ampersand turnaround feels too long and the layout only got more of the same in store from then on. The "midcourse brake run" completely kills the coaster off too early and after each ride I was severely underwhelmed on the final brakes. I completely understand why people say they could sit on Shambhala all day, but for me I cannot only feel the comfort but also quite a lot of boredom. I would describe the ride feeling as gently bouncing on clouds, which this extremely smooth coaster does marvellously. It's just nothing I look for repeatedly in a coaster.
-
Airtimes Smoothness Duration Layout Intensity
Airtime machine! Great smooth coaster, first drop very dissapointing in the first row, preety good in the back, however it could be steeper. Rest of the track is a very pleasant ride.
-
Location Comfort Fun
This ride is really fun, but not my type of ride as I am not a fan of floater airtime. The Ampersand is kind of forceless but the drop is really good and you get some ejector after the Ampersand.
-
Location Fun Smoothness Too short Capacity
The mid break isnt good. The ride should have a Terrain Part at the end.
-
Airtimes Comfort Masterpiece Capacity
Shambhala is just incredible. It has a lot of airtime, intensity and is very smooth. This ride never lets down and keeps a good pace until the end. Although it is not my number 1 anymore, it is still a masterpiece. Also, every airtime hill delivers strong airtime which is very rare. Due to portaventura’s awful operations. It suffers in capacity.
-
-
Airtimes First Drop Smoothness
Loads of perfect floater airtime when sitting towards the middle of the train.
-
Airtimes Dead spots
Hugely fun ride with superb specifc elements; drops 1, 2, 4 and 5 are excellent, however the turnaround lacks force and there is a "lurch" mid-way around it. The ride is essentially over at the mid course brake run as it loses a lot of energy climbing back up the hill. The pacing issues aren't a big deal, but I think there are probably better examples of the genre dotted about.
-
Airtimes First Drop Location
Masterpiece, lots and lots of floater, and some brilliant views out to sea.
-

-
Airtimes Dead spots
Shambhala should be really good. Should. Plagued by PA's's miserable operations and overhyped as a tremendous airtime machine, Shambhala leaves something to be desired. Whilst there are some pops of airtime throughout the layout, they're somewhat underwhelming when ranked against over coasters of the same calibre.
-
Airtimes First Drop Masterpiece Too short
Only con is that I wish it was twice as long :D in reality its length is pretty standard.. But ahh you gotta love Shammy-B :D Air time Maaaachine!!! Love the restraints, if you can get them pretty loose then you're in for a really floaty time out your seat ;) The lift hill is impressive that you go up next to dragon kahn .. and then keep going ! The first drop is epic on the front for views and being pushed over, and on the back soo much fun being whipped over that hill! Love it in every seat ! The pace is awesome, splash down is cool.. its just soo much fun! I need to get back there to ride it over and over and over again ;) Love the 2x2 trains, you get great views from every seat. 5 out of 5 every time !

Airtimes Capacity Comfort
This is a more modern version of a B&M Hyper compared to Silver Star in Europa-Park. If you like this kind of ride (long floater airtime hills, high-speed cruisin' with comfortable lapbars) this is one of the best you can ride. It also compares very well against the B&M Hypercoasters in the US.
-
Airtimes First Drop Smoothness
I found everything great, the first drop is without a doubt, one of the best in the world. My only complaint is that the ampersand turnaround isn't forceful when I expected it to be. It's still fun though
