Intensity Layout Rattle Discomfort

Stampida is a wooden dueling coaster with a racing aspect. The racing element is the biggest highlight of Stampida, it's fun to duel with the other coaster, and the great surprise is when the tracks suddenly split and the trains cross paths afterwards. The intensity of the layout isn't very high, but the ride is so shaky that it gives a very uncontrolled (some would say uncomfortable) impression, and you feel like the train might jump off the track any second. I had to hold on tight throughout the entire ride, as there was a constant risk of banging your knees against something. Overall, it's a fun experience, but due to the shaking, it's not equally suitable for everyone. Subjectively, I liked the blue track a bit better than the red one.

Stampida is located in the 'Far West' zone of PortAventura Park which is phenomenally beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. The views you get are great, and the layout of the rollercoaster is fantastic. I had rated this coaster a mere 1.5 stars just one year ago, because of the genuine damage it puts on your body from the rattle & discomfort, but I'm putting 3 stars this time. Not sure if it's because I knew what to expect this time & actually braced, but it actually did not hurt & was greatly enjoyable with amazing operations! The part where the 2 racing trains separate and then face each other is definitely the highlight reel! Overall I think you're in for a great ride IF YOU BRACE and KEEP YOUR KNEES WELL CENTERED! I can't stress this enough! I advised to skip last year, but definitely definitely do not! Simply brace & have fun on this amazing ride!

Layout Rattle Capacity Discomfort

It just makes me miserable thinking about what could’ve been. It’s rough, just hurts, and has horrible capacity. It feels like this is begging to be RMC’ed, and it really needs it. Tomahawk is half the size and is much better, which I find to be hilarious.

Airtimes Theming Rattle Discomfort Dead spots

As much as this coaster has some great laterals, decent theming and airtime, it is a very rough and uncomfortable wooden coaster! The restraints are terrible, and the ride has a few pacing issues towards the end of the layout. I actually prefer this side to the blue side because it offers a slightly smoother ride even though it's still not smooth. If Stampida was retracked as a GCI and got millennium flyer trains like Tomahawk but bigger, it would be a lot better and more bearable and comfortable to ride.

Rattle Discomfort Tear it down!

This is definitely the worse of the two sides I think - and my word is it uncomfortable. The lap bars are digging into your stomach, the sides are pressing against you, and the entire car is rattling the entire way. Some corners are quite fast which worsens the discomfort and rattle. It’s a horrible ride experience which overshadows everything else.

Airtimes Fun Theming Intensity

It does not rattle. Not at all. I don't understand why people complain about it, especially having Furius Baco right there to compare. Yes, it is true that Stampida is a bit shaky at the back rows, which is understantable considering it is a 23-years-old woodie (as of 2020), but in the middle-front seats it's rather smooth, the drop is quite fun and it provides a long and enjoyable experience overall. The trains could be improved, but the coaster itself is really nice, having some weak yet fun airtime moments, hills, turns and that interesting racing element. Moreover, it is a woodie, which is an extra point for me, and hearing the roar of the wood as the train goes by is already part of the experience. Really recommendable, though it could do with some more theming.

A good ride. It is getting more rough but it still packs a punch and it still has that airtime.

Airtimes First Drop Fun Harness

The ride itself is a masterful CCI Duelling Layout, with a lot of strong floater/weak ejector and brutal laterals, which I'm a big fan of. The first drop just plummets you into a mess of wood and it's honestly amazing. The only downside for me are the trains, KumbaK are a curse on this world. Not even that rough tbh, But a tad more rattly than the Blue Side.

Nice surprise! Fun Layout Theming Discomfort

This ride was a pleasant surprise: first of all, it has the "right" level of roughness for a classic wooden coaster which is loud, rustic and wild, but not in a displeasant way. I really appreciate the long and twisted layout which can lead to cool interactions with the adjacent "Tomahawk". The racing aspect is the icing on the cake, it provides great fun to both trains, you can fool around with the other riders on the lifthill and when both tracks separate and the trains head towards each other, it leads to a cool surprise effect. However, theming could have been done better and the Kumbak trains are a bit uncomfortable and appear quite outdated. Nevertheless, this coaster is loads of fun and when the rails are wet from the rain, it goes completely berserk!

Fun Duration

Stampida is definitely rough, but it’s a good rattle that adds to the ride experience, making it out of control mixed with some airtime and lots of laterals. The dueling aspect adds even more, making it fun and competitive the entire way through.
