Rota has a good launch, and you hurtle round the first corner so fast you feel like your body will disappear. But the rest if the ride is dull, and i dont experience a single moment of airtime, which is a real shame. Tighter turns and better airtime would definitely help. Also the themeing doesn't fit with the Dark Forest. I wish they had built the Wicker Man in the Dark Forest instead. Now that theming would be perfect...

This was the first launch coaster, and the first coasters with inversions, I ever rode. I was 11 at the time, back in 2001 (although I re rode it in 2006). It's a fun ride, with good theming and great music. The launch is pretty punchy too, especially considering its age!

I seem to be a rare fan of this coaster. Granted this is probably because I'm a mega-fan of the Saw film series, and love highly themed rollercoasters. The indoor section is definitely the highlight, and one of life's joys is to take people on this ride who have no idea what's coming in the dark... The rest of the layout is fast, intense, and fun, although I will concede that it can be painful and uncomfortable in places. Still my second favourite ride in the park.

Even as a short person, I find the trains uncomfortable with no leg room. The OTSR are too restrictive, causing your head to smash against them at regular intervals. Particularly unforgivable seeing...

Even as a short person, I find the trains uncomfortable with no leg room. The OTSR are too restrictive, causing your head to smash against them at regular intervals. Particularly unforgivable seeing as Flamingo Land's Sik has comfortable lap bars. However, the layout is fun, with some good airtime on the dips, a decent first drop and some excellent hangtime on the heartline rolls. I'm a sucker for coasters with multiple inversions, and Collossus's 4 heartline rolls in a row are a particular highlight. Worth a ride when you visit Thorpe Park, but only worth one ride per visit in my opinion.

Galactica is simply glorious. Whilst you can tell it is an early model (and many newer flying coasters do it better), it was so unique when it opened, and is still really fun. The fly-to-lie is my favourite element on any coaster ever. Smooth, not too intense, and super comfortable restraints make this a must-ride. My only criticism is the first tunnel before the lift hill. Get some theming there, Towers! There is no excuse. Literally a dab of paint and some glow in the dark seats are all that it needs.

What can I say that hasn't been said a hundred times already? Uncomfortable. Head banging. Body bruising. Awful restraints. The worst part is having to climb up the step ladder into the restraints WHILST THEY ARE ATILL MOVING. Seriously, the ride operators won't let you wait for the ride to stop before climbing on. But, I am a glutton for punishment, so will probably continue to ride this and moan about how rubbish it is as long as it is still operational. I am British, after all.

This was surprisingly good. Vekoma SLCs are rarely good, but this was fun. Not too rattly, a possibly the best themed coaster at the park (not that there's much competition!) The lift hill is soooo sloooow...bit then the first drop is excellent, and it has a really nice lot of inversions. I'm a sucker for a good vertical loop, and the vertical loop on Kumali is excellent. The cobra roll is absolutely beautiful to watch, and fun to ride. Overall, much better than I had expected. Highly recommended.

But it doesn't seem to gel together that well, being nothing more than the sum of its parts. Decent but not great. Worth a ride, and maybe a re-ride, but nothing to get too excited about.

Sik was a glorious surprise. It runs smooth as silk, not a rattle or a jolt on it. The first drop is fast and forceful, then you zoom around it's 10 inversions smoothly and quickly. The tunnels (and mist, when it's on) are really fun. The four heartline rolls are terrifying - I challenge you to keep your hands in the air! - then the zoom around the lake into the final barrel roll are phenomenal. I've rated as 4 stars instead of 5 because of its operations - Flamingo Land runs only one train. Also I don't personally like the music in the station, but that's just personal preference. Overall, a great ride which I thoroughly recommend. Far more than just a Collosus clone!
