Great layout but the trains and restraints ruin it. You have no leg room and the restraints are so close to your head that a bit of a rattle can feel much worse than it is. I've ridden Sik at flamingo land and those trains and restraints are miles better and make the layout more enjoyable. But considering it's age it's a good ride.

Colossus c'est l'exemple parfait du coaster débile, un type de coaster que l'on ne ferait plus aujourd'hui (du moins plus de cette manière). Cette caractéristique lui donne un certain charme même si ça n'enlève pas le fait que le but de son parcours consiste à foutre la gerbe à ses passagers pour battre un record. En plus de cela ajoutez des opérations calamiteuses même pire que dans le reste du parc (oui oui) et de nombreuses pannes et vous obtenez un ride très oubliable sans être foncièrement mauvais. Je note malgrès tout que j'apprécie beaucoup le terrain sur lequel Colossus est implanté et le fait qu'il viellit pas trop mal ce vieux briscard !

It rattles through every single inversion and the harness makes your head shake from the left to the right and back. The pacing is half decent and feels great, again, the rattle ruins it.

This ride looks great. It was freshly painted, there's plenty of foliage and I love how the queue and some main paths go through it. Beautiful to look at. It also has a pretty nice soundtrack. However, riding's not that good. The trains are bad, and so are some of the transitions. Those corkscrews didn't have whip, they just had pain. I usually love extreme whippy rides and don't normally mind rattle or OTSR, but here it was rather annoying. The hangtime on the final rolls was fun, I guess, but the corkscrews were not, and the airtime hills gave some very week floater, which felt kinda disappointing. I rode towards the front, so maybe that first drop provided more at the back. Also, I only got a morning ride, so maybe the experience would be improved later in the afternoon, force-wise. In that regard, none of valleys or inversions pulled many G's, but again, could be due to the early ride. Overall, I think Colossus is worth a ride, it can be fun, but getting rerides when there are so many amazing roller coasters at the same park doesn't sound like a great idea.

Very glad I left this one for the very end of the day as it left me with a nasty headache on the journey home. I rode it for the first time back in 2017 and it was fantastic and had no discomfort, but...

Very glad I left this one for the very end of the day as it left me with a nasty headache on the journey home. I rode it for the first time back in 2017 and it was fantastic and had no discomfort, but then rode it again last year and it was agonising. Such a shame as the loops and constant twists really are fun and unrelenting. Thorpe Park must surely know how painful this ride has gotten, and hopefully a Colossus overhaul and potential reimagining will be their next big project after Hyperia!

Trains are so unbelievably cramped, I'm only 5'5 and I feel like a sardine. Restraints are also very uncomfortable and combined with the rattle on this coaster it quite unpleasant. Now Sik exists it just makes me look at this with sadness when I go to ride. The layout is great however, just needs work and maybe a retheme (cause at the moment it is a bit lazy and old).

Colossus est un looper Intamin avec pas moins de 10 inversions. Qui dit looper d'il y a un certain temps dit harnais, et qui dit harnais dit baffes. Alors oui, on peut s'en tirer sans une égratignure mais certains y passeront un vrai calvaire. Heureusement mon expérience a été clémente et je me suis surpris à apprécier ce ride. Les premières inversions sont assez intenses malgré une first drop peu mémorable et sont principalement des classiques comme une vertical loop, cobra roll et autres corkscrew. Par contre ce qui nous attend par après est déjà moins courant et permet surtout d'exploser le compteur des inversions en proposant 4 heartline rolls en une seule et même ligne droite, toutes fournies en hangtime car passées à faible vitesse et nous laissant pendre à loisir. Pour finir une dernière heartline roll pour la route avant notre retour en gare. Alors bon ce n'est clairement pas l'attraction du siècle mais n'est pas non plus une bouse pour autant. La théma existe même si elle n'est pas transcendante. La gare reste sympa et possède une ambiance particulière. La file d'attente est quant à elle assez dépaysante, remplie de verdure et nous donne l'opportunité d'observer son voisin Hyperia depuis certains point.

Colossus est une machine que j'ai préféré observer que rider, en effet le sparkle project lui a fait le plus grand bien, les parties peintes récemment sont assez jolies, l'intégration est bien faite et la végétation est agréable dans ce parc qui manque parfois de verdure. Autrement le coaster n'est pas vraiment agréable, c'est assez intéressant de faire autant d'inversions mais à cause du harnais on se prends des baffes constamment sauf dans les heartline finales.

This ride is killed by the restraints. They hurt not only because of the rattly trains, but because the most "special" part of the ride, the 4 consecutive inversions, was trasformed into the worst. My head hurt and without a worthy reason. Altair is so much better because of this.

Le parc devrait changer ces trains, mais le layout reste très sympa ! L’enchainement des heartline roll est vraiment fun, et les deux corkscrew en mi-parcours sont bien exécutés. Je remonterai dedans avec plaisir ! Second ride matinal à l’ouverture, à froid il est vraiment fluide, un plaisir :)

Despite what people say, this is a good ride if you know how to brace. I rode it twice, once in the front row and another in row 7 on the rear side of the car. I would definitely recommend queueing up...

Despite what people say, this is a good ride if you know how to brace. I rode it twice, once in the front row and another in row 7 on the rear side of the car. I would definitely recommend queueing up for the front row, I had to wait around 8 more laps until we could go on, but it was worth it. To brace, all you need to do is push your body forward and keep your head forward, that's it. I only put the harness tag for how stupidly uncomfortable the restraints are on your legs.

It was a good smooth ride when it was released however as of 2019 it has become very rough with the main issue of headbanging on the seat restraints. The ride is long and has a bunch of unique inversions which is its main positive but lately the roughness of the ride has ruined it for myself and many other UK enthusiasts. In years to come many UK enthusiasts are hoping for the ride to be refurbished or removed for new and upcoming projects. If your at Thorpe park make sure to ride other rides first before this because it is better to do rides like swarm, stealth and saw then riding this in it's current state. Colossus est un coaster qui m'intriguait beaucoup avec son layout atypique. Le lift offre une belle vue sur Hyperia fermé ce jour, et après une drop sympa sans plus, on enchaîne 10 inversions de maniè...

Colossus est un coaster qui m'intriguait beaucoup avec son layout atypique. Le lift offre une belle vue sur Hyperia fermé ce jour, et après une drop sympa sans plus, on enchaîne 10 inversions de manière un peu répétitive, le loop et le cobra roll ont de bons G+, entrecoupé d'une petite bosse qui offre un petit airtime, puis on enchaîne 2 corkscrews plutôt violents et arrivons au fameux final à base de 4 heartlines rolls, qui sont certes répétitives mais amusantes et ont chacun un bonne hangtime. Une ou deux auraient suffit, mais bon il fallait battre un record. Un virage plus tard on arrive à la 10ème et dernière inversion, et pour moi la meilleure: une autre heartline roll, cette fois-ci prise avec un peu plus de vitesse. Bref, Colossus est amusant mais loin d'être marquant surtout si on ajoute à l'addition la violence du ride en terme de baffes, qui viennent gâcher l'expérience
