Don't knock on Valravn. It's a solid support coaster and an amazing fixture of Cedar Point's skyline. Better than SheiKra, on all accounts. A good, complete layout that deserves a better ranking than it has. It could be #1 at any other park, it's just that Cedar Point has too many phenomenal coasters for a good one to shine.

Valravn is, in a word, perfunctory. It's B&M on autopilot, lifelessly stringing together the elements of a Dive coaster because that's the way it's always been. The first drop, in reality, provides surprisingly weak air, is only thrilling because of the trademark train-hanging-over-the-edge trick. Where is the beautiful free fall (with a bite!) of their Hyper models? The gigantic Immelmann that always follows does surprisingly nothing for such a substantial inversion, and then after a turn, the train lands through the mid-course, signifying the stilted, lumbering pacing of the entire thing. And not in the way that an intense, impressive behemoth like Banshee is. The drop of the mid-course is similarly weak to the first, then we stumble through a couple more inversions, leading to a camelback finale that manages to have way less air than the Wing coaster just down the midway. Valravn was really the first time I've experienced the high-budget mediocrity we see in other industries vainly chasing profit (movies, video games) in one I once thought largely free from it, thus leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

La first drop est sympa, les inversions planantes mais le frein de mi parcours vient trop tôt et laisse à peine le temps d'apprécier quoi que ce soit. Quelques airtimes viennent égayer la suite du layout, somme toute trop court. Heureusement il est équipé des harnais "modernes" empêchant toute baffe, ce qui est fort appréciable.

Une dive machine assez gentille... trop gentille même. Les drops n'ont aucunes forces, les inversions non plus. C'est très aseptisé comme machine, on ne ressent aucune poussée, aucun G+. Cependant, ça reste un B&M fluide et fun avec un layout plus inspiré que la plupart des machines du même modèle.

This was my first and only ride on a B&M dive coaster. While it's definitely not a bad ride, it just didn't really deliver anything that I hadn't already experienced on better coasters. I feel like dive coasters were once a novelty since there were very few coasters with vertical (or beyond vertical) drops. However, now there are so many of them that the drop doesn't really provide anything new, other than the pause. Just like any B&M coaster, it's smooth and delivers some nice inversions. There just wasn't anything that stood out on this coaster. It didn't help that there was a fairly long line for the ride. It's worth riding if the line is short, but I feel like it's a fairly mediocre ride.

This coaster has a wicked first drop and provides varying forces throughout. Ever since I thought of this coaster as a bird flying and perching on things, the brake run hasn’t bothered me at all. However, I still feel like it’s way too short and could try and interact with the environment more. I feel like this is an example of B&M lifelessly throwing elements together and hoping they stick. The courtyard it’s in is absolutely gorgeous though, and I always enjoy walking up to the queue and checking out the theming.

I think this is one of the more underrated B&M dive coasters and can hold its own against the top ones. I'm not sure why it's rated so low. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The first drop is great, like all dive coasters provide. It has a pretty good layout and is butter smooth compared to some of the newer models I've ridden. It also had a nice surprise pop of airtime near the end that I don't remember on some of the other models. 4/5 stars

I loved this ride. I don't know if you ever did one of the smaller five coasters like Baton 1898 or Kraken, but those, although they give airtime, a very gentle in comparison to this one. Only, coming from Europe, I am used to five coasters with the mint on the ride. And this one seems bare. I feel the whole idea of a dive coaster is that it drives into something at the bottom of the drop. But overall it was an enjoyable and quite forcefull coaster. Don't like the midcourse and hate the breakrun. All is smooth till y you get to the breakrun at the end.

Valravn is an excellent dive coaster. It was my first one and I was sorta underwhelemed. Not calling the ride bad though, the first drop had a fun free falling sensation, the final inversion is fantastic, by far my favorite dive coaster inversion, but the vest restraints were not ideal and the it was pretty forceless to be honest. Overall, not too bad.

This would be a top ride at many other parks, but with how deep Cedar Point's roster is, Valravn is just an average coaster at the park. Unfortunately the wait time is more than average, and the ride is very short. It's very fun, but I would never wait more than 30-40 minutes.

The first drop didn't even feel that high or anything. After the first drop, I'd swear there's only one feature before you immediately get braked for the second drop. Come on, give me something! The second drop... I sorta assume it's just a brake point that's being repurposed as a 'drop' since it's a dive coaster- it barely even stopped you. Why not actually do the hold+dive again? And you've done so little after the first drop, shouldn't there be a ton of speed left? Why is the drop so low? After the second drop the ride is fun for a bit, but still doesn't last that long Missed opportunity

I think of this ride as more of a drop-tower coaster hybrid. This is the scariest first drop I've ridden, especially in the front row. It is a super stomach drop and makes me scream out louder than any other first drop I've been on. The rest of the ride hits you with some decent positive g's on the inversions, but overall feels a bit more meh to me when compared to others. This is definitely a one-trick-pony, but it does a damn good job at that one trick.

Though I despised this coaster on its announcement and opening, I've learned to appreciate it for what it is now. Valravn became yet another Cedar Point icon, and after you walk past the graceful Gatekeeper and the roaring Raptor, you come upon the intimidating bronze Valravn. It's stunning, beautiful, magnificent even, and is beautifully landscaped. As for the ride, the vests do really suck, but for my body type, they're easy to look past. The first and second drops give great back row airtime, the inversions are all smooth with wonderful hangtime, and there are a couple moments of floater air in the second half. For this smaller footprint, Valravn is the perfect fit for the ever flexing Cedar Point, and perfects the B&M monster bird trio of the twinkling, nostalgic CP midway.
