Absolutely insane. Everything this ride does is amazing, the airtime and hangtime combo towards the end is my favorite part of the ride. There is 100% a rattle , especially in the back, but it didn’t make the ride unbearable or anything. It’s still a really great ride. KD really has a winner on their hands

Don’t let people tell you that this ride is bumpy or rattles. It’s quite amusing to me when people complain about a few bumps. It’s hard for me to just say Rapterra is better than Thunderbird because it’s new, but I rode Thunderbird a lot last year, and I just can’t put Rapterra over Thunderbird right now. But still, a solid wing coaster with great airtime and hangtime combo. Weird they didn’t have the on-ride photos working.

Rapterra does a couple of things really well and the rest sub-par. Pros: theming is SO cool. Love all the old homages to Volcano. Atmosphere around the ride as a spectator is unparalleled. Legitimately one of the most fun coasters to watch - ever. Launch is nice and punchy too. Best part of the ride is the wing over! I loved that. (Also smoothest part lol) Cons: I’m so sad to say that I was disappointed by the bumpiness of this ride. Yes, it’s not terrible and not “rattle” persay, but I just found it annoying and distracting from the experience of what should feel like “gliding”. Also forces overall were kinda mid, but I guess the prioritization of floater airtime matches the theme. BIGGEST CON: this honestly applies to the whole park too. Rapterra and its other counterparts have a terrible capacity problem right now. Operations opening weekend were literally abysmal. Rapterra clocked in an average dispatch time of 2:30 which means theoretical max capacity of 480 riders/hour. Dominator was running two trains with an average dispatch of 3 MINUTES. like come on guys. I hope they get their s**t together. Anyways, back to rapterra. I have two rides in, one front left inner seat and another second to back outer seat. Both were just okay. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a really fun ride. It deserves to be beloved, especially by the public. But as a coaster enthusiast I wanted more. At this time, I prefer gatekeeper over this. UPDATE: got one more ride in on this at sunset and definitely “warmed up” to it more. It’s fun. Just not a coaster enthusiasts dream.

Rapterra is really a wonderful family/thrill coaster with broad appeal to enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts. The launch caught me by surprise where most launches happen from a stop this one just rolls out of the station and then takes off. The view from the front row is the place to be on this and it's also very comfortable. My favorite element is a zero-g inversion in the middle of the ride. It doesn't have the unique character and personality of the Arrow looper it replaced nearby but it's difficult to fault this ride in any way. Like most other fans, I would love if they had installed some near-miss visuals during the ride and I also wish it was bigger and longer. And while we are wishing, I wish they rebuilt the mountain that used to be on this spot and incorporated the ride into that.

The harnesses were also very comfortable and I felt extremely secure the whole time. I didn't feel any sort of rattle.

this was my second time riding this (first time was on opening weekend), and I think it is a great ride. Both times I went on an inside seat in the front row, but on opposite sides. This ride has an amazing launch and great pacing. The only issue is its rattle. Its not shaky, but bouncy. it doesn't take away from the ride much besides going up the first element. i would 100% recommend coming here first when visiting the park because it pulls insanely long lines. i would also like to say that this is a must ride at the park and is my new #3 there.

Easily one of the most confusing coasters I've ridden. The launch and inversions themselves are pretty good, but my experience was entirely dictated by the row I had picked. I rode 2 times, once in the second row and once in the back. The second row was surprisingly smooth, with little to no rattle at all. However, once I went to the back, it hurt like hell. Overall, this coaster is pretty good, just go towards the front and pray you don't get shaken like a maraca.

Operations were great on the Sunday of opening weekend; I waited about 30 minutes and the line moved quickly. This is a beautiful coaster to look at, and I love how many vantage points there are from the midway and the queue. The queue itself is still a work in progress, but already has some good theming. I rode in the second row, and while I could see the bounciness of. the launch from off ride, I didn't notice it on ride. The launch was fun, and the first few elements had strong positive Gs. The second half had a slight rattle in the valleys, and the vest restraint really dug into my collarbones. I wish it had a longer layout and some near misses. I think I like this slightly more than Gatekeeper and slightly less than Dominator, but I'm looking forward to getting more rides on it and refining my opinion.

Rapterra is a surprisingly fun coaster. There are multiple surprising elements including the first overbank and the final zero-g roll. Theming is also surprisingly good and pretty elaborate. It is uncomfortably bumpy on the outside seats, but is pretty smooth if you sit on the inside. I wanna also add when I rode this operations were horrendous, running 3-4 minute dispatches on average and closed down multiple times, but I rode it on opening weekend so hopefully that improves over time.

I was able to ride the USA’s newest wing coaster yesterday night after an hour fourty-five wait and just… WOW. Rapterra is the embodiment of everything 2020s B&M is. It’s intense, it hauls ASS, it has a very creative layout, it’s gorgeous, and fun as hell. It’s also hilariously bouncy just like all new B&Ms seem to be lol The launch is FANTASTIC! It takes 4 seconds to reach its top speed, so there’s no reason that launch should be THAT intense, but it’s so good!! The overbank is super floaty and staring down at the ground to your right is surreal! All three inversions feel distinct, and the airtime moments absolutely deliver! Rapterra has some decently strong positive gs, but it’s not too much, if you know what I mean. Rapterra NEVER loses its speed, and you’ll hit the break run out of breath. One other aspect of the experience that will take your breath away is the SPECTACULAR theming!! Like DUDE, this is Cedar Fair??? The set pieces are extremely large scale, and the area is shockingly detailed. This isn’t just a home run, the goddamn ball is in the stratosphere. Fantastic job Kings Dominion and B&M. 💚🩶💛
