Fun Duration Rattle
Beast is fun. It's the longest wooden coaster on Earth, and I imagine when it opened it was one of the greatest coasters ever built. That said, it has a slight, noticeable rattle and its elements don't do a whole lot. It's so long and well-paced, though, that it's a lot of fun nonetheless, even if maybe it isn't one of the greatest coasters nowadays.

A classic coaster which while no longer reaches the upper echelons of all the world's coasters is still well worth a ride especially at night. It does show it's age with some major dead spots and some rough sections but it's almost 5 minute trek into the woods can't be missed

Blew me away. The ride had some work done and felt very smooth while keeping its intensity. Night ride is an experience. Top tier woodie for me.

I got a back row night ride on the beast and it was actually very intense, I couldn't feel the trims that much, and the laterals were really good, especially in that final helix, and I love just how long this ride is. The location is beautiful, you don't even feel like your in an amusement park, you feel like your in the middle of nowhere lost in the woods, a deer even walked right up to the track when I was riding, unfortunately this coaster just has so many dead spots though.

I rode it last year before the retracking. Still was one of my favorites at the park. Looking forward to re-riding after Gravity Groups changes.

Location Duration Rattle
Sure, it's a classic, and it's a scenic ride through the woods, but it's lost its magic for me. When I first rode this back in the 80s, there was major hype for it being the longest, fastest, tallest wood coaster. It was a great ride then - a little shaky in spots, but not uncomfortable. When I rode it recently, once was enough. The constant rattling made me anxious for the ride to be done. The double helix in the tunnels at the end was extremely rough. I'll take Mystic Timbers over the Beast any day of the week!

I have been to KI a couple of times over the years. When I first went Son of Beast was still operating. It was as bad as everyone said it was. Then we went to the legend, The Beast. The guy who sat in front of us went on and on about how great it just was while we limped back into the station. I was confused. I left almost as disappointed in it as Son. I just didn't get it. Trim brakes all over the first half and the infamous helix at the end was just jerky and rough. I rode it again that day and this time in the front, the helix wasn't nearly as powerful up there, but beyond that, there isn't much here. I left distraught and confused. Years later, Banshee and Diamondback drew me back, I returned. This time I rode The Beast more as an observer or as an experiment. I know I am supposed to love this thing and it is supposed to be one of the greatest coasters ever, but hadn't experienced anything even close to that. It was barely even good. I tried to have an open mind this time. The first half was...well the same as I remembered, not much to write home about. Then the long second drop and the famous helix. This time, I kind of, almost, partially understood. The helix was pretty darn good. It, of course, was rough and rattily, but not painful. It is very forceful. I enjoyed it. Again though, the ride as a whole isn't anywhere near my top 20 or even 50, but I sorta-kinda can see what 10% of the hubbub was about. At night, this thing must be a completely different "beast" all together to receive the love that it has gotten over the years. I have never gotten a night ride, so I can't comment on that. I don't see how the entire ride itself can somehow morph into a completely different experience with less light, but one day I'll have to try to be sure. As it is with the multiple rides I have had on this legendary coaster, I just don't understand the love. My rating of 3 stars above is definitely higher than it would have been for years and probably still 1 full star higher than it should be just out of respect and admiration for what this ride has meant for the coaster community.

I only got 1 ride on this during my 2021 Ohio Trip and I got to admit, This thing is nuts! Many of the turns pull insane positives and lateral G-forces. There are also a few great moments of ejector airtime, two lift hills that give some nice views of Kings Island, and four tunnels. My favorite parts of the ride are those turns through the tunnels because of how intense the forces are. I also really like the first drop because it gives great ejector air! I like the setting as well because the layout goes through a forest. Overall, The Beast is the longest roller coaster I've ridden and one of my favorites at Kings Island.

I want to love this ride, but it’s too rough for me. I got jackhammered so hard the last time I rode it that I got a headache, which is rare. Luckily it’s getting retracked currently, so I may be able to enjoy it. There are a lot of dead spots though. On the bright side, it’s pretty intense on the helix!

This ride is incredible. The night ride (which lives up to the hype), the day ride, and the location. My #1 for what looks like the foreseeable future.

First Drop Location Duration Rattle
One of the best wooden coasters I have ever been on but is definitely the best wooden coaster at night time even better than Boulder Dash as LC which has an elite night ride. The duration is also one of the best parts because it feels like it just goes on forever. And obviously the double helix and tunnels at the end are the best and most forceful part of the ride. Overall amazing coaster and a must do when you go to Kings Island.

The ride, the myth, the legend. Don't expect a world class coaster, expect a fun piece of history.

Can be a bit rough depending on where you sit but it’s very intense and night rides are elite

Location Intensity Duration Layout
This is such a good ride. While the layout really is not that good at all, this ride still manages to be amazing. It provides some amazing laterals especially on that final insane double helix. Plus how can I not talk about the amazing setting. I've gotten several night rides on this, including one in the middle of a thunderstorm, and they're incredible. While this ride isn't quite as good in the day, it's still excellent. However, if you are sensitive to roughness, do not ride this on a wheel seat, especially the back row. This is an insanely rough ride. However, I think the roughness makes it feel more insane so I love it. Overall, such an incredible ride

Gotta appreciate how it was built in house before CAD. Also just a really good ride in general. The helix is incredible. Overhated by a wide margin.

An absolutely iconic wooden coaster, The Beast still packs a punch all these years later. It's very long and provides some outstanding views. It's not all that smooth, but that just adds to the whole vibe. The second drop is also absolute bonkers.

The Beast is a ride you hear about a lot, then look at a pov and say it looks boring. The ride's layout looks boring but you really have to ride this ride to see what makes it fun. The ride is fun because of the roughness, loudness, and woodedness. I can see how people wouldn't like this ride because frankly, it's super rough and loud but if you like the feeling of craziness and insanity RIDE IT! The ride becomes 10 times better at night where you can really feel the ride roar at you. I've probably over ranked it because I love the insanity of it, you might not like it though.

This is an AMAZING coaster! It's so iconic and I'm thankful I got to ride it. I would be devastated if they got rid of it... I got a night ride in the front and back, and you should go back because you can see even less. The helixes are intense too. The lats are CRAZY!

I sat in both the front and the back and prefer the back. The front is more smooth and boring. The back is more jerky, intense, and fun.

This legendary woodie is awesome. The whole ride is great. It’s a classic old wooden coaster that still holds up as one of the greatest wooden coasters out there. The ride is surprisingly smooth and has some great moments like the final helix, first drop, and second drop. It’s secluded location in the woods is legendary and it’s 7000 feet of track just keep going.

Location Fun Intensity Dead spots
Let me get this out of the way: at night, this feels like a really nice hike through the deep woods. I love the vibe in the dark. But when the sun shines and the flaws can't be hidden, you notice that the ride is made mostly of straight track. Half of the ride duration is devoted to climbing the two lift hills, and while the rose bowl helix is incredibly forceful and a wonderful finale to the ride, it's almost not worth waiting three minutes strapped into the ride just to experience that.

Location Rattle
8.6 out of 10! A lot rougher than how I remember it when teenager. Old School and a classic.
-
Location Dead spots
Covered in trims, probably to stave off the worst of the roughness associated with 70's and 80's wooden coasters. As a result, the ride doesn't have any particularly forceful parts. The Beast is nonetheless one of the better surviving examples of the era; and the forest setting and duration are both excellent.

Layout Duration Disappointing! Dead spots
The layout and interaction with the terrain is fun, but there is not a moment of airtime. The tunnel after the second drop I felt that my head was extremely close to the wall and could easily take my hand off if I was in the mood to lose an appendage.

Location Masterpiece Duration
This ride is a icon of amusement parks in the United States and should be at Kings Island until the end of time. The location is perfect for a ride with this name, this ride was a Beast when it opened all the way back in 1979. The lateral-G forces on the ride are some of the best out of any non-Wild Mouse coaster. Also make sure to get a night ride if you can on The Beast, it's a quintessential experience any coaster enthusiast needs to try out.

Location Masterpiece
This is a coaster that defies how it thrills its riders. With only two drops in the first half to speak of, some may find it pointless. But it's an otherworldly experience. The downhill acceleration through the woods at top speed is one of the few times I've been terrified on a roller coaster. The coaster is so long, it takes a second lift hill just to do the finale: an inclosed, enormous double helix. The wooden feel of the coaster adds to the sense of speed, danger, and terror. I'm extremely happy I'm able to appreciate this coaster, as it's my #1 wood coaster, and the most thrilling ride I've ever been on.

One of the most pointless coasters I have ever ridden. Boring, dissappointing and just plain meh. Ride it for the credit and maybe at night but that's it.
