Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Dead spots
I think this ride is slightly overrated. There were spots on the ride where it was honestly rough and forceless (the middle section comes to mind). HOWEVER...I can look past the roughness. The airtime all over the rest of the course is well worth a little discomfort. That first drop is mental, but I like Skyrush's first drop a little more. Overall, it's my #14 coaster.

Airtimes Headbanging Discomfort
its good but you can only ride it once its so rough OVERRATED as heck

Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Dead spots
Wow. I don’t usually give things perfect scores but when you’re limited to whole numbers, this coaster absolutely gets a 5. The airtime is the strongest you will experience besides maybe magnum, and probably the best as well. This will always hold a spot in my heart, as it’s my second most ridden coaster ever. Love this beast.

Airtimes First Drop Intensity
This is the number 1 wooden coaster and a top 5 coaster ever to exist. The fact that this ride has the traits of an Intamin but the intensity of Iron Gwazi makes this one of the best additions to the coaster world. The lift hill itself gets you to 12 mph! The first drop is one of the biggest drops on a woodie ever (180ft) and it takes your breath away. Then those camelback hills eject you out of your seat. The laterals at the mid-course are so clean and usually, on an Intamin you'd feel pain, but the lap bar on Toro is so comfy! The number 1 woodie that will never be beaten!!
-
Airtimes First Drop Lap Bar
There is nothing bad about this ride. the First drop is spectacular and the following airtime is especially good with the amazing Intamin Prefab restraints. The turnaround can be kind of bumpy but nothing to complain about. Then has an awesome 4.1 g's Ejector hill called the Rolling Thunder hill that absolutly threw me out of my seat and the finale of switchbacks finishes of the ride with a bang. Overall if you don't like this ride something is seriously wrong about this. (Controversial but makes Velocicoaster look like dog crap)

Used to be prettier inside of rolling thunder rip

First Drop Intensity Ejectors Rattle Dead spots Reliability
This ride was completely overhyped for me. The last time I’d ridden it was when I was younger, so I really needed a reride. So after it being closed for half the year, I finally got on it on a slow day, so I guess there’s that, but I really didn’t get the hype for it. Sure, the drop and camelbacks are absolutely insane, but even the rolling thunder hill didn’t hit that hard, which I guess is saying something honestly. But even on a hot day, I still think that besides the big four elements, there isn’t much else. So now, I need to wait another half a year because it shut down AGAIN. And yes, hopefully the retrack will change this, but it was rough when I rode it, most notably on the first turnaround and twister section. But it killed those moments for me. Maybe I need a better ride, idk, but I think this ride is insanely overrated. It’s still in my top 20 for how much those first three elements smack.

Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Rattle Dead spots
El Toro probably has the best airtime in the world. Not the strongest, but the best quality. And it's got heaps of it too. Legit the only thing wrong with this ride is the godawful tracking in the turnaround. Might be the roughest segment of track I've been on. Other than that, and the boring part in the middle, this ride is incredible at what it sets out to do.
-
Airtimes First Drop Fun Rattle
Easily the best ride at Six Flags Great Adventure, El Toro never disappoints. Airtime hills are a masterpiece, the ride has great pacing, and the first drop is a real treat. It was pretty rough last time I rode it though, but hopefully, the coaster will return from its most recent accident smoother than before.
-
Fun Intensity Layout Rattle
A great ride with a terrific layout. This is a an awesome wooden coaster. Unfortunately, it is starting to get shaky with age. The straightaways and airtimes are smooth and intense, but the banked curves have gotten pretty rough.

Airtimes First Drop Ejectors
I rode this the day when it opened. The staff knew me and my family and invited me to ride the coaster. I had no idea what I was getting into. I sat in the back (since it was the only row available with the amount of crowds), and once we went down that first drop, I got a stomach drop like none other to the point where I hollered at the top of my lungs! That feeling made me avoid the ride until 3 years later, where I tried again, in the front. It felt less intense than when I was younger, but I still got the intense flojector. It is currently my #4. The Rolling Thunder hill is the best!

First Drop Intensity Ejectors Rattle
I rode this on a school trip in 2018. I had previously only done Dark Knight and Skull Mountain, and thought this was gonna be a normal wooden coaster. When I got to the ride, I started thinking otherwise, but my teacher kept me going. Boy, did I not forget this ride. It has a KILLER first drop. I was in the second to back, commonly regarded as the best seat in the house, and I felt all the airtime. The second drop was just as insane. Ejector airtime was everywhere, making me jump joyfully out of my seat. However, it did shake me round quite a bit. When I got off, I swore I'd never do it again. You see, the rattle gave me a headache, and I didn't like the stomach drop. But my next trip to SFGAdv in September of that year saw me fall in love with the other coasters, and a trip to Dollywood this year got me over my fear of steep drops caused by this ride. I hope to ride it again!
-
Airtimes Pace Ejectors Rattle
Wow, the ejector pop in the back row on those hills is really amazing. The rolling thunder hill has the strongest ejector I’ve ever felt and is one of my favorite elements on any coaster. If they could fix the rattle then I’d rank this even higher. I love how you walk right past cheetahs and sea lions (NOT seals!) on your way to this ride from Kingda Ka. Very cool.
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Capacity
Intamin with another masterpiece even when their making a wood coaster but being a guy that loves wooden coasters this is the best no doubt.

Airtimes Intensity Rattle
Felt compelled to leave this review as a warning: this was way rougher than I remember it being. I thought with all the work done in the 2021-22 offseason, it would be back to being smooth again, but I was wrong. I've got a pretty low tolerance for jackhammering and general roughness, so when you're going as fast as you do on El Toro, it can be painful. I got off and said my neck hurt; my friend said his side hurt; my brother said his butt hurt. We could have gone on it again, but my party decided 3 rides was enough. With all that being said, the airtime this ride provides is out of this world when you're in certain rows. The large camelbacks are the airtime hills to which all other hills are compared to. The Magnum Magic Seat™ is an amazing spot for airtime, particularly the Rolling Thunder hill, which was easily one of the most intense airtime moments I've ever experienced, but of course doing the drop in the back is phenomenal also. It's not the same ride that was my number 1 back in 2015 due to the roughness, but hey, we all still wanted to go on it 3 times in spite of that, which tells you how unreal the airtime is.
-
Airtimes First Drop
Great wooden coaster. Good airtime on first drop + other hills. Surprisingly fast and forceful. Absolutely wild + one of my favourites in the park.
-
First Drop Intensity Ejectors Dead spots
Toro is one of the most wild coasters ever. I really don't get why people say this coaster only has 4 elements because it for sure has more than that. That being said, those 4 moments of ejector are absolutely nuts and don't feel safe on a woodie. The drop feels wayyyy too steep, the two camelbacks are insane and the pull into the valleys in the back is crazy intense as well as that rolling thunder hill is one of the greatest ejector pops in the world. This thing also has some amazing positives and lats in all the valleys, the turnarounds and snaps at the end to finish out a phenomenal coaster. Just such a great mix of forces and while the middle section is weaker, the beginning and ending more than make up for it.
-
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors
This is a phenomenal ride. Those 4 ejector airtime moments are some of the best out there and even the rest of the ride I found to be fun. Insane ride
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors
This is my personal #1 and it holds immense sentimental value for me as, back in 2019, this was the first ever elite tier coaster i rode. (my top 5 right now are what I consider elite). This is an absolutely fantastic creation.
-
Airtimes Harness Discomfort Lap Bar
I completely understand and appreciate what El Toro is going for, but it is entirely ruined by its restraint.
-
Fun "wooden" coaster that I probably have a controversial opinion on. It was better in the morning BEFORE it had warmed up. It has particularly extreme negative G, which when running fast feels a bit like an 500lb gorilla giving a headlock. The bucking bronco lateral section adds variety, but those trains are not suited to it. Still a 4 and a half star ride despite my negatives for it.
-
-
First Drop Pace Ejectors
I finally rode this after failing 5 or 6 times... And wow it lives up to the hype for sure. Every element is just amazing, some of the strongest airtime on earth, & while it isn't the smoothest coaster, it's tolerable, especially in a non wheel seat. The magic seat for me is row 17, right side. But in conclusion, this ride was worth the wait 100%, holy.
-
Airtimes Intensity Ejectors Theming
The only coaster I’ve ridden where the train lift off the tracks and rally tests the upstop wheels. Amazing airtime and intensity and a great wooden feel without being rough. My favorite coaster.
-
Airtimes Fun Ejectors
It's hard to beat those three consecutive ejector moments to kick off this coaster! This thing is plain crazy.
-
Airtimes First Drop Duration Discomfort
El Toro is by far one of the most thrilling wooden roller coasters you will ever ride. During your experience on this ride, you will receive constant air time, thrill, and excitement. I would recommend riding this coaster with another person because if you are riding alone, you may experience some back pain from leaning over to the opposite side of the cart during some on the twists and turns. Unfortunately, I experienced this and it was not fun. Other then that, I think El Toro is certainly a star of Six Flags Great Adventure and definitely is worth riding!
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Rattle Discomfort Reliability
I like this ride, but it’s gotten a lot rougher, to the point where it hurts. That airtime is still good, but it’s really rough. Also I’ve definitely experienced better airtime
-
Airtimes Ejectors Rattle
Amazing ride with amazing airtime. Way better than steel vengeance in my opinion. This is defiently the best coaster at Great Adventure. Granted, it has developed a pretty bad rattle. 10/10
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Rattle Dead spots
Having heard about how incredible this coaster is for years, my expectations were sky-high. While it wasn’t the Voyage-beater I hoped it could’ve been, those expectations were definitely met. The first half of El Toro, namely the drop and first 2 airtime hills, is absolutely incredible - all 3 moments provide sustained ejector air. There’s a particularly rough patch in between the turnaround and next airtime hill, and another on the following speed hill. The Rolling Thunder hill is a surreal moment of ejector, and definitely the highlight of El Toro. I found the rest of the ride (the twister section finale, as well as everything between the turnaround and Rolling Thunder hill) to be pretty intense, but rather rough and lacking in airtime. In conclusion, I definitely prefer Voyage, but El Toro is in my top 10 regardless. It’s not “as smooth as a steel coaster”, but it is less rough than most other woodies I’ve done. It’s the best coaster at Great Adventure for sure, and I’d love to get rerides.
-
First Drop Pace Ejectors Rattle Discomfort
Definitely one of the roughest coasters I’ve ridden, but the layout and ejector make up for it. This ride does feel like it’s trying to kill you, but sometimes that’s not bad.
-
Airtimes Masterpiece Intensity
This ride is absolutely insane!!! It’s just a relay of intensity and rapid fire ejector air throughout the entire layout. My only con with this ride is that I’ll never get to ride this for the first time again.
-
Airtimes Lap Bar Ejectors
Every bit of awesome I was expecting from this. The first drop is one of the best out there. The first two camelbacks are just constant ejector. The turn around definitely rattles a bit but not too bad. The floater hill was surprisingly good considering I never hear about it. The rolling thunder hill was absolutely insane. The second half had it's good spots but also jackhammered quite a bit. I was expecting a 10/10 and that's what I got. I do like Voyage a bit more but this is really close.
-
First Drop Pace Ejectors Rattle
This used to be my favorite coaster until I rode GhostRider. It's a bit rough at spots, and it can hurt but other than that El Toro is a perfect roller coaster. Highly recommended with the awesome ejector airtime and a great first drop with a bonus headchopper. The pacing is some of the best in the country, too.
-
First Drop Lap Bar Ejectors Dead spots
although im not as big of a fan as most, this ride still gets a 10/10 from me, the strength and length of the airtime is like no other, but i feel like this coaster could use more airtime moments and some variety as well, thats why i think its slightly overrated
-
First Drop Intensity Ejectors
Credit #14 Pros: -Well? Everything. Cons: -I'm too biased because this was my first big boy ride.
-
First Drop Intensity Ejectors Dead spots Reliability
Similar to Skyrush, this is by far one of the most intense and greatest roller coasters ever built. The first drop in the back row is absolutely mental. It feels like you’re about to go flying every time. The camelback hills also give insane sustained ejector airtime and the insane turns provide really strong positive G’s! My favorite part of the ride is the Rolling Thunder hill since you get thrown out of your seat as you absolutely go flying! El Toro is one true masterpiece and is overall the best coaster of its kind!
-
-
Airtimes Pace Intensity Reliability
El Toro is insane. The airtime is super strong, the pacing is amazing and its very intense and aggressive. Overall El Toro is an insane coaster and my number #3 coaster
-
Airtimes First Drop Intensity
The best wooden coaster that I've been on. The first drop is insane and the airtime is on a whole nother level. It's gotten a little bit rougher over the years, but it is still an incredible ride. You get this feeling of "I should not be going this fast on a wooden coaster". This is especially coupled with the fact that the restrains are just a lap bar.
-
Airtimes First Drop Intensity Rattle Discomfort
The layout is amazing, it’s so insanely high and fast for a wooden coaster, you get to the top and you’re like wait a second I’m halfway up kingda ka on a wooden coaster with a lap bar. And the drop is insane, leading into an amazing layout with tons of airtimes. The speed is consistent so it’s intense the whole ride, and the reason I’m giving 4.5 and not 5 is because I will say when I went on it was actually painful, if you’ve been on any old coaster you know how rough they can be, now put that 180 feet off the ground and 70mph, it definitely beats you up a bit. But I still have to give it 4.5 because it’s a legendary wooden coaster with an insane layout, so the only bad thing is how its depreciated since it opened, but even though it’s rough it’s still a must ride over a lot of rides in the park.
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Discomfort
I live 20 miles from Six Flags and have had season passes for nearly 20 years. This coaster was as smooth as butter when it first came out but it's definitely gotten rough with age. I will still ride it every chance I get, but it's not as fun as it was due to getting thrown around a bit on turns. The turns remind me a lot of Rolling Thunder with the shakiness but a bit more harsh. I havent ridden the new coaster yet, so as of now I'd place this behind Nitro in the park.
-
First Drop Layout Ejectors Inversions Discomfort
Well did Intamin do an amazing job constructing El-Toro its top 5 for a reason and hands down the best wooden coaster on the planet. The first drop really gets you out of your seat and makes your heart drop. Then after that it's all airtime and turns. This could be a great thing if you don't like inversions and love airtime but I do feel like this ride could be a 6 star if it just had a couple of inversions. This ride could be a little uncomfortable at some times but the layout pays up for it. Overall this ride is a masterpiece and 100 percent deserves to be top 5 and is also a MUST DO coaster when you visit SixFlags Great Adventure.

Rattle Disappointing! Airtimes
乗り心地の悪化により、本来の魅力が失われてしまった可能性が高い。人気の低下は深刻で、自分が乗ったときは一編成運行なのに待ち時間ゼロ、連続乗りできるぐらいガラガラだった。ゲストは正直だよ。

Fun Masterpiece Ejectors
I had been given extremely high expectations for this ride since becoming an enthusiast, as it is hyped up by virtually every enthusiast who has ridden. Even so, El Toro blew me away and gave me a whole new appreciation for "airtime". I don't remember laughing with joy so much on a coaster ever before. Of course, I went for the back row on both of my rides, and the ejector was insane! Every single hill in the first half was a moment of extreme sustained ejector. Granted, my least favorite moment is the floater hill after the turnaround, but that's just because it is weak in comparison to the other hills. I'm not sure what rides could outdo El Toro's airtime, but it has made me even more excited for rides like Skyrush and L-rod. This coaster instantly became my #1 above rides such as Wildfire, Helix, X2, Twisted Colossus, Maverick, and others. I couldn't wait to return even as I was exiting the park that evening. It is a shame that this is a rare model!
-
Airtimes Layout Ejectors
This coaster was after Kingda Ka and Cyclone one of the first coasters of the trip. And this ride is amazing it blew me away with the fast lift hill and the first drop. Then the amazing airtime makes it a good coaster. And at the end of the day 2 nightrides on this beast was it def. my 3rd favourite coaster i've done. If you near by do this one i recommend.
-
Airtimes Pace Intensity Lap Bar
This is a real deal god tier coaster. The bastard love child of Intamin and Rocky Mountain Construction is known as "El Toro". Werner Stengal really blew his load when he came up with this beauty. The first round of hills are all lovely. The second round of hills after the turns lulls you into a false sense of security then slams you over that 7th "Rolling Thunder" hill like some sort of sick joke. My only complaint is if your a big 'un you kinda have to be stapled in, but even then the ride still slaps.
-
Bonkerz air. One of the best first drops in the game. Best choppers in the game. That rolling thunder hill is fantastic. Complaining about a rattle on a wooden coaster this smooth is sacrilege. It's also stunning to watch. World class, must ride.
-
Airtimes First Drop Comfort
a phenominal wooden coaster. The first drop is amazing, especially on the back row. I got nervous of the drop when I was on the back every time and I had to go round and do it again just for that. The airtime is brilliant, especially the airtime hills before and after the twister section.
-
First Drop Smoothness Ejectors
Never felt so ecstatic on a coaster! The hills had powerful ejector air, as well as some floater. There was a particular hill with extreme ejector air straight into a series of banked turns which was my absolute highlight. It was very smooth. The last two hills and the middle section felt weak compared to the rest of the ride though, hence the 4.5 stars.

This ride is perfect! My #1 ahead of Steel Vengeance due to airtime, a buzz bar, and having the best drop ON ANY COASTER!

Airtimes First Drop Ejectors
The best woodie I've ever ridden, hands down. The drop, the huge airtime hills, the rapid turns, the everything, all serve to give a truly unforgettable ride. If El Toro isn't at or near the top of your list of bucket list coasters, it should be. Every coaster enthusiast worth their salt has to get out to Great Adventure and ride El Toro; you just have to.

-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Discomfort
El Toro is known to be the best wooden roller coaster in the world right now according to the golden ticket awards. To me, El Toro is perfect, besides it’s intensity. It’s speed and airtime are so extreme, that you’ll get a slight beating depending on where you sit. I sat in the very back and on the second hill, I banged my head on the back of the train. That doesn’t mean that wherever you sit, you’ll get a rough ride. It just means that if you sit more towards the front you’ll have a perfect experience on this amazing coaster. El Toro is perfect in its airtime, speed, turns, and theming.
-
Intensity Layout Ejectors
The marquee to this ride is the sustained ejector air - the sound of upstop wheels permeates half the park - but the intense laterals into the banks of the twister section and the near misses with the structure that forced me to physically duck pushed this firmly into my top 5.
-
First Drop Masterpiece Intensity
9.7 out of 10. hardcore ride, it is not smooth but not rough either. shock how fast it is to be a wooden coaster.
-
First Drop Intensity Ejectors
I dare you!!! to beat my marathon record 25 straight rides on this during Riding of the Bull. Seriously this is one of the best wooden coasters in the world. Lets talk layout The drop is exceptional where you get vastly different experiences based on what car your in. Front- You creep down the drop then pick up speed as you hit the bottom and if your in the back you will get flung over which is the coolest thing ever. After that you go over 2 straight violent flojecter hills and then curve down into a bank and then over a speed hill which can give you some nice floater moments depending what seat your in. Then comes one of my favorite parts of the ride. You sharp bank left pretty violently if you are in the front(you are hitting it at full speed) and then flung over the "Rolling Thunder Hill" and if your in the back you get one of the best moments of sustained ejector in the world then hit the ground violently and go through some insane laterals before the finish. One other note if you are complaining that El Toro has a "Rattle" then anwser me this how many other wooden coasters (Voyage,Beast,Boulder Dash, Phoenix) have you been on that are considerably rougher, and have you given them higher reviews and been ok with their roughness. When El-Toro is running at it's fullest you can hear the Upstop Wheels roaring on the track right when it banks toward the rolling thunder hill. The wheels mesermerize me into wanting to run to the front enterance. Riding of the Bull last year was the absolute best because El-Toro hauled probably the best I have ever seen it and it's at one of my home parks. Reccomendation night ride during the summer and fall in back car right side. You'll thank me later or just join as at ROTB with ACE.

Airtimes First Drop Ejectors Rattle Lap Bar
I was expecting this to be better. Much better. Despite its crazy intensity and great ejector air, I found it to rough give a higher score. Even in the front row I came off with a headache. I thought the lap bars were really uncomfortable given the amount one flies out of their seat in this ride, and the seatbelt really dug in. I got stapled 4 times on this ride so that made it hard to enjoy more. Overrated.
-
Airtimes Intensity Smoothness Rattle
This ride has the best airtime I have ever experienced. It is currently ranked as my 2nd favorite just below Steel Vengeance. Smooth but not as smooth as everyone says.
-
First Drop Smoothness Ejectors
El Toro is the second best coaster behind Fury 325. This ride is pure awesomeness, especially in car 4, row 2. The cable lift is so fast, and that first drop sends you flying out of your seat. Every hill provides strong ejector airtime, the best I have ever experienced. The twister section is very intense and fun, and because it has steel topper track, it is very smooth for a wooden roller coaster.
-
-
First Drop Ejectors Rattle Dead spots Lap Bar
El Toro, while the airtime is extremely powerful, is badly paced, has an annoying rattle, and probably the worst wooden coaster restraints I've ever ridden in, that makes the airtime painful. After the explosive start with the first drop, two sustained ejector hills, and cool turnaround, the ride dies. The rest of the ride is hills without airtime and rattly banked turns, save for the Rolling Thunder hill. Probably the most overrated coaster I've ever ridden. I understand the appeal for sure, but this coaster isn't for me.
-
Airtimes Layout Ejectors Discomfort Lap Bar
I get that it is a splendid ride full of incredible airtime, but honestly, having a seatbelt buckle jabbed into my flesh over and over and over again by the tiny Intamin lapbar that damn near bruises my legs on every hill just isn't very pleasant. A real rethinking of this ride's restraints could go a long way.
-
Airtimes First Drop Masterpiece Theming
El Toro! What a ride this is. This could honestly be the best woodie in the world. Anyways, you start off with a cable lift followed by the INSANE first drop. This gives tons of ejector air and is followed by more giant ejector hills. But there is quite a bit of intensity on these hills as well. Overall, El Toro is the god of ejector air and backs it up with intensity and high capacity trains.
