Launch Masterpiece Intensity
one of the most insane coasters i've ever been on. crazy launch and super intense inversions. definitely short, but it's so good that i don't mind that.
-
Launch Pace Fun Too short
Absolute gut punch of a launch. Zero G roll is an outstanding inversion, and the other ones are serviceable. A little short but that launch is worth it.
-
Launch Layout Too short
It has a great first launch. The inversions are fun. The launch blew my breath away. It is one of my favorite roller coasters. I highly recommend you ride it.

Launch Fun Smoothness Too short Capacity
Much like Goliath, it took me until its third season to ride this. Once I did for the first time, I was blown away by the launch. The ride landed at #19 on my first-ever top 20 and official ranking list. I used to be harsh on it for the short length, after a rather positive first impression, and at one point ranking it behind Vertical Velocity and 9th at the park. Since then, I’ve came to look past that and just enjoy it, although I still am a little miffed that they rejected the originally-longer layout that S&S sent over. And sometimes I think back to my memories at the Pictorium. Still, this ride rocks. It’s super smooth and that launch is a gut punch. It probably took until my fourth time riding it for me not to have my heartbeat go significantly up as we approached it. The launch is still a powerhouse even after riding it near a dozen times. Any row. The front gives you the unobstructed view and wind in your face, while the back has this awesome feeling of just being pulled along that might be even crazier. The rest of the ride doesn’t quite live up to that launch but it’s still good fun all the way through. Contrary to its name and S&S’ goal of making the craziest possible ride in the smallest amount of space, it isn’t really that forceful. To talk about the cons of the layout, the dog tongue is slow, heartline roll doesn’t really feel like the world’s fastest inversion due to its large size, and the Maxx dive loop doesn’t really have any flaws but you do hit the brakes halfway down. Each of these elements, as you are traveling through, still however contribute to a fun experience. I still think this is third best in the park’s lineup, at least for now. It has a really good fun factor that makes it worth riding. I’d love to marathon it, but that line never moves and the capacity is bad along with it being at the front of the park. So I normally get my rides in early and have yet to double-ride it on a visit. Every time I come off it, I feel like I liked it even more than before; it’s got my position of third in the park locked up for the foreseeable future unless Rakshasa tops it out. Maxx Force is great, even though I nagged on it a little in this review I do want to emphasize that I think it’s awesome.

Launch Intensity Too short
That launch is unreal, feels like your soul is left behind, but it is very short.

Launch Too short Capacity Disappointing!
Probably the most overrated ride here, the best part is the launch but after that the ride falls flat on its face and it's over in 10 seconds, good luck waiting an hour for this crap as the capacity is abysmal. It doesn't matter if the ride is "short and sweet" or "well you need to strategize to not wait long" it's not that exciting to reride and lacks substance outside the launch, at least you go back and forth on V2.

Launch Too short
I don't usually react on a launch coaster but this one got me I said oh shit this is awesome
-
Inversions Launch Smoothness Too short Capacity
it has a nice launch but very short and super long wait times
-
Launch Fun Intensity Too short
Heart racing fun!! But another Great America ride that is way too short to justify the wait time. Even if you doubled the duration with another thrilling drop and inversion it’d be the shortest in the park. It’s so fun and leaves you wanting much more!!

Comfort Launch Smoothness Capacity
Steel Curtain is one of my favorite coasters, so you can imagine how excited I was to ride it's sister coaster. I only got two rides on Maxx Force due to the hour long line (the capacity is extremely low) but WOW those two rides were amazing. It reminded me a lot of Storm Runner honestly, except with a better launch. Beyond the world's fastest accelerating launch, Maxx Force offers 5 amazing inversions. The Dog Tongue (which is just a weird cobra roll) has amazing hangtime. That is followed by the barrel roll, which has amazing whip and laterals. The roll into the dive loop has whip that is just as strong, if not stronger. The dive itself is killed by the final breaks, just like it is on El Loco. Outside of the layout, Maxx Force has everything I like about Steel Curtain. Steel Curtain and Maxx Force feature the best trains and lapbars on any coaster, in my opinion. Maxx Force is glass smooth and has a great sense of speed, just like it's sister coaster. I don't prefer Maxx Force to Steel Curtain, but I do prefer it to Storm Runner, which is extremely similar.

Lap Bar Launch Smoothness Too short
I've ridden a dragster where you accelerate from 0-120 mph in 2.8 seconds. But the acceleration on Maxx Force just seems like the fastest I've ever experienced. The launch was intense and the ride is fun, but it suffers from the same problem that top thrill dragster did. The duration of the dragster ride was 30 seconds long, and Maxx Force is even shorter at 23 seconds. Top Thrill Dragster realized that and made their 30-second ride a 2-minute ride.

Airtimes Comfort Fun Theming
this was my first ever ride, and I will tell you its intense. but I loved it the seats felt so comfortable, and the harnesses felt really safe and secure. this ride as really fun overall. it did give me a headache after, but I do get headache's from most rides anyway.

Inversions Launch Intensity Too short
Phenomenal launch! The sound of the air compressed launch is pretty awesome! Every time it sounds like an artillery cannon going off!
-
Launch Fun Intensity Too short
Compressed air launches are so addictive. Felt like my soul left my body during this one. If S&S ever figures out how to attach a satisfying layout to one of these it's over.
-
Inversions Launch Too short Capacity
Incredible ride. The launch is super intense. Wish it was longer :(
-
Inversions Launch Too short
On Stealth I said "Fastest acceleration in the world but my smooth brain can't accept this beating a compressed air launch so when I finish my day at Six Flags Great America I'll see which one's faster." This is faster lmao
-
Launch Smoothness Too short
Best launch I've been on so far! After the launch the rest of it is fun, but leaves a little on the table. Its super short. The seats are great.
-
Launch Layout Too short Capacity
Incredible launch. Great layout too. The ride is over in what feels like 10 seconds after waiting in an extremely slow moving line due to bad capacity.
-
Inversions Launch Smoothness Too short
Fun ride the beginning of the launch is great but wish the launch force lasted a bit longer. The inversions are very well thought out with some nice hang time. The only con really is it’s too short.
-
Comfort Launch Too short Disappointing! Dead spots
SFGA is my home park and this ride always has the longest lines. It's very disappointing because the ride is super short and isn't very fun. Really the only fun part about it is the first launch, but the rest of the ride lacks any forces or any fun factor. It had so much potential, but it didn't use it.
-
Lap Bar Inversions Launch Too short
The launch is so powerful it feels like your soul is still in the station by the time the ride is done. The inversions are great, especially the last one.
-
Inversions Too short
A fun alternative to a normal launch coaster. Launches smooth and fast, though it already lost some steam before the dig tounge. A short ride with a good layout, but it much of layout is underwhelming as the coaster has lost too much speed for the elements to truly hit. At least this was the case when I rode. Was expecting an excellent launch and got a very good launch instead
-
Inversions Hangtime Too short Capacity
This was a fast and exillerating coaster, the launch was insane. throughout the inversions you were just weighless the entire time. One serious problem was capacity, this thing has the smallest capacaty ever. that and how short the ride is sad bc even with the flash pass, i was only able to do it once.
-
Nice surprise! Fun Too short
This ride is very long the wait time gets to a hour just to ride a quick fast speed ride but I still like it It was a good surprise for me
-
Inversions Launch Intensity Too short Capacity
Capacity is a big problem for Maxx Force, as I had to wait 45 minutes for this on a decently quiet day. (The longest line I had before it was 20 minutes, with most being around 5-10 minutes) The ride really packs a punch though. After being disappointed by Flash's launch, the launch for Maxx Force blew me away. The inversions provide hangtime and that heartline roll is something else. Sadly, it ends before you know it.

Launch Intensity
Nothing will ever compare to the strength and intensity of this launch. It feels like you are being rear ended by a bus and the driver isn’t stopping. So fast your brain doesn’t have time to process what is happening. I love every component of this coaster but especially the dog tongue; it’s like floating on cloud nine and a great way to breathe after the intensity of the launch. The main complaint people have is that it is a short ride. I don’t think this is an actual problem with this ride. It’s an absolute beast and always well worth the wait. Front row is exquisite but the back has unbelievable intensity from the launch. My brain couldn’t even process sound during the launch in the back; I couldn’t even let a scream out. Great America had limited space and yet S&S designed something small but a genius use of space. Just think, if the area were larger, we might not have Maxx Force right now. You need to feel this launch again and again.

Launch Fun Smoothness Capacity
Holy shit that launch was amazing! I've been on quite a few launch coasters but almost none of them could give me that stomach-dropping feeling like Maxx Force did. The rest of the layout doesn't pull too many forces but is still great fun. That heartline roll is really nice! Overall a great ride and for me the best coaster at Great America. Watch out for long queues though. I waited a solid hour for this ride, while all other coasters at the park had 30-45 minutes max.
-
Launch Too short Capacity Reliability
Its ok, very over rated. but a solid launch coaster.
-
Launch Intensity Hangtime Too short
The launch is fantastic and you feel it in your stomach. It should be experienced by everyone. The inversions are snappy and provide great hangtime. It is just over before you know it. I know that they were pressed for space but an element or two more would make the ride a lot more complete. It was strange to wait almost an hour for a 20 second ride. But what it does have is a blast.

Launch Fun Intensity Too short Dead spots
I feel like 2 out of the 4 elements are some of the best in the entire industry but the other 2 drag this one down. The launch is my favorite of all time. It's insanely intense and hits me so abruptly it's hard to wrap my head around what just happened. Then you hit the dog tongue inversions and it really hits a dead spot. I would have much preferred some type of massive loop like Full Throttle to give intense hangtime. After the inversions (which were clearly put that high up just to break records to advertise the coaster) I got hit by one of the most intense heartline rolls I've ever felt. You at least build enough speed from the tall inversions to make this a fantastic moment. Then again I hit another inversion element to wrap up the ride that just doesn't really do anything for me. I can't really describe it but it felt like a cheesy way to get you back into the station. This one could have been an all-timer but got affected by builders looking to chase records. I would still highly recommend checking this one out for the launch and heartline roll alone. 4.5/5 stars

Inversions Launch Fun Too short Capacity
I absolutely love this ride! The ride itself is butter smooth and absolutely phenomenal; however, they only run ONE train even during peak season! They have two trains though, so I'm not sure why they do that. And, obviously, the ride is really short but the launch and inversions make up for it. Overall, it's an awesome ride.
-
Inversions Launch Hangtime Too short
This is my #3 at Great America. The launch is amazing, especially in the front row. You get great hangtime on the dog’s tongue element and the heartline roll was super smooth. However, this ride was way too short and I would’ve given this five stars if it was only a little bit longer. I don’t think I would want to wait an hour to ride a 20 second ride
-
Launch Layout Too short Capacity
Longest wait at Six Flags Great America by a mile. Flash Pass doesn't include it either. The day I went, Maxx Force was only operating one train that takes 3-4 minutes to dispatch 16 people. Expect 1-3 hours of wait time for a sub-30 second ride. Apart from that, it's phenomenal. Truly deserves the 4 stars. The records it breaks say enough. Fastest acceleration, inversion... The launch is insane (insanely loud as well...), and for once a launch actually serves for something! SFGAm definitely had limited space for the ride, as the brakes positioned at the end of the hill shows, but it still is an amazing coaster overall. Don't skip but also avoid the very long wait times... I recommend either buying a fast pass or wait until the line is under an hour 30 minutes long.

Inversions Launch Too short Capacity
A fantastic launch and does alot more with that launch then alot of other single launch coasters. Saying that though it is still really short and it looks like there is a very limited capacity to the ride
-
Inversions Nice surprise! Launch Too short Capacity
Guaranteed to be one of the slowest moving lines you will ever wait for, but still worth it. I think it’s the best ride at Great America but it’s really close with Goliath. Also the ride being 30 seconds long is kind of a bummer.
-
Launch Intensity Layout Inversions Dead spots
This is such a great launch coaster. That first launch is absolutely insane and is currently the best launch I've experienced. However, the ride entirely dies after that unfortunately. The inversions all were incredibly weak and didn't provide much forces. However I appreciate that they're there instead of just going straight to the break run. Overall, this is a fantastic ride solely because of that incredible launch

Inversions Launch Intensity
Maxx Force is an amazing launch coaster, the initial launch is once in a lifetime

Launch Intensity Smoothness Too short Reliability
It took me 2 trips in the span of 2 years to finally get a full ride. 2019 waited 4 hours in the line & got a horrible sunburn. We got on, launched, and rolled backwards. Then this year (2021) waited over and hour in the sun, then the coaster broke down when we were next in line. I waited like 4 more hours and finally got a full ride. It was amazing, but I'll never go through that again.

Inversions Launch Intensity Too short Theming
My favorite ride at Six Flags Great America and their standout attraction in my opinion. Although it is not as good as Storm Runner at Hersheypark, the ride packs a punch. The launch with the fastest acceleration in North America is intense and launching into that tight tunnel adds to the experience. The inversions are spectacular and provide both hangtime and whippiness with my favorite being the 64 mph zero-g-roll. Overall this is one of my favorite launched coasters and best in the park by a fair bit.
-
Inversions Pace Intensity Too short
It does several very good elements back to back in 25 seconds. The "fastest inversion of any coaster in the world" heartline roll is an experience in itself. The brakes starting half way through the final inversion is disappointing; the park seems to have run out of space, preventing the brakes being only on a flat section.
