Nitro is a top tier BM hyper coaster that is a must ride at SFGrA. The lap bars are super comfy and unrestrictive, leading to glorious floater airtime moments on its many camelbacks. The ops do really well with loading and unloading and the line moves quite fast. The views of the park from the lift hill are glorious as you can see Ka, the Skyscreamer, and some of the safari from up there. The helixes provide strong forces at the end and the little hills on the final third are wonderful. I recommend a wing seat to get the full experience.’

This is my second favorite roller coaster of all time, and it has some super exciting drops. The first drop takes a while to get the coaster to the top, making it more and more scary as you reach a super high height of 230 feet! My first time riding it, it was not as I expected because I'm used to roller coasters with launches, and this one had none, so it would take a long time to reach the top. As it was climbing to the top, you started to regret getting on the ride in the first place because you had so much time to think since it's a high and slow climb. Once you're all the way up, you start dropping, and the first drop is the best one, so enjoy it while it lasts.

What a great B&M hyper! It's hard to believe B&M designed Nitro in 2001. This is now my favorite of the five I have experienced, and it is my favorite ride in the park. The floater air hits on every hill. The left twisting drop of the second hill is whippy. The helix is intense, and the last four hills really pop! The layout also takes riders on a journey out of the park, through the woods, and back again. The ride's balance of intensity and fun is nearly perfect on Nitro. Awesome work, B&M; Nitro is is a top-tier ride for me!

Nitro est assez imposant, mais se cache plutôt comparé aux autres crédits du parc. Il faut grimper et rider la bête pour comprendre son layout. Après une belle ascension la first drop est là pour rappeler la puissance et le plaisir que de rider un hyper B&M. La suite est assez fun, mais je trouve pas assez de hangtime. Les quelques bosses finales sont à ce sujet, trop peu ressenties. Le coaster reste une belle machine mais lui manque quelques moments plus planants pour pouvoir se hisser plus haut ! Un conseil, si vous pouvez faites le de nuit, sensations décuplées et encore plus fun !

For 2001 this is a really nice rollercoaster. By nowadays standards it's pretty forceless but probably ideal to get new people into the hobby. The airtimes in the front were nice and plentyful although they were "only" floater. It reminds me a lot of Goliath at Walibi Holland over in Europe but with floater airtime. Ironically, Goliath was also built for the Six Flags group. All in all, this is an outdated yet very enjoyable rollercoaster that is worth a couple of rides at Six Flags Great Adventure.

I had two very different experiences on Nitro. The first time I rode it was at night and I thought it was incredible with great speed, smoothness and just a ton of fun. The second time I got of the ride and just thought it was meh and not as good as my first ride. I'll have to ride it again soon but it is still a very fun ride with great inversions and very smooth.

Nitro is a really solid B&M hyper. Each hill gives excellent floater and delivers a smooth and comfortable experience. The finale is definitely one of the stronger ones as far as B&M hypers go, too. The main thing that sets Nitro apart from its kin is that double upward helix. Though it is far from the sheer intensity of the reverse maneuver on SFOG's Goliath, it is still far more forceful and intense than most other rides of this model. 8.5/10 - why did the guy sitting next to me absolutely smack the ever-loving crap out of his friend's neck on the brake run

Un bon vieux B&M old school mais qui rempli complètement ses objectifs. La first drop est vraiment raide et nous procure un énorme floating lorsque vous êtes vers l'arrière du train, les camelbacks sont très planants et l'hélix procure de bons gros G+. La 1re partie est assez planante et la 2me est assez proche du sol avec de petits camelbacks qui s'enchaines rapidement. Le tout dans un confort extrême et sans réelles vibrations. Je suis conquis. Point noir cependant pour la file d'attente qui est digne des meilleurs parc à bœufs qui m'ait été donné de voir.

This is perhaps my favorite B&M hyper. It is a basic out and back layout, but they do throw a few surprises in for extra excitement and fun. I loved the left-hand dive turn off of the third hill that takes you out to the turn around. They throw in a couple more "twister" type maneuvers towards the end to add more excitement. It reminded a bit of Ragin' Bull in the second half. It was typical B&M Hyper--super, super smooth and comfortable. Because of this smoothness I was able to carry on a conversation with my wife during the entire ride. It is too big and comfortable to be all that intense. The level of intensity between this and El Torro is night and day. I know that this goes 80mph, but it never feels that fast. I loved and appreciated the extra "twister" maneuvers to add to the overall thrill and experience. A great coaster.

I loved Nitro. I've been on a bunch of B&M hypers over the past year and while they are tamer than some of your top-end RMC's and Intamin rides, they consistently deliver quality riding experiences and they are by no means devoid of intensity. Nitro was a nice change of pace vs. El Toro and Kingda Ka. And while it's similar to other B&M hypers that I've ridden, it was not the same - it has it's own personality and a few tricks up its sleeve that I found to be great coaster elements (i.e. left bank turn coming out of the first camelback hill, elevating spiral.) Yes the trims can put a damper on things at the end, but the airtimes I experienced prior were fantastic and the lake setting was a nice added touch. Nitro did look like it could use a paint job, but that's me splitting hairs...this is a top-tier B&M hyper in short - really accessible and enjoyable.

But unfortunately, my ride on Nitro had no airtime. Which really sucks and made me depressed. Thankfully, El Toro cured my depression because El Toro is love El Toro is life.

The lap bar is super comfy, and unlike the kiddie coaster nearby there are no seatbelts. I don’t mind seatbelts but it’s kind of funny that they would put them on the kiddie coaster and not the 80 mph coaster. Pointing this out that I got a night ride, so clearly there’s a beautiful setting, I could only put 3 things in the pros. The actual ride has some decent intensity, especially on the helix, but there is one big problem. There is absolutely no airtime on this. I didn’t even get floater. I might’ve had a bad ride but I can only rank a ride meant for airtime that doesn’t have airtime so high.

Its first drop is phenomenal and the rest of the floater airtime makes it very fun and very pleasant, even if it lacks in some element variety.

This is one I call a very good all around coaster. It does not have any weaknesses in my view. It is high, fast, smooth, great first drop, excellent floater airtime. I seriously do not get the people saying it has weak airtime. At least in the back row, you literally come out of your seat, knees all the way up for about 3 to 4 seconds when going over some of those airtime hills. It also has a very intense helix right before the mid course break run. You can be sure to grey out on this one. It also has some of the most comfortable seating of any coaster I have ridden. However, I would say that overall it is not the most intense ride. If you want intensity, El Toro, Jersey Devil, and Kingda Ka are all much more intense than this one. But it still has all the components that I look for in a roller coaster.

The helix before the midcourse was also a welcome addition to prevent the ride from becoming too repetitive, a problem I have with some other B&M hypers like Behemoth. The return run to the station with the endless airtime hills therefore I didn't like very much.

Really underrated and definitely one of the very best rides at Six Flags Great Adventure. The lift hill gives you sufficient time to regret your life decisions and the first drop is awesome. The two camelback hills that follow are comparable to solid drops on a mega coaster. Great capacity too.

This park has basically only underrated coasters and this might be the most underrated of all of them. This is loaded with floater airtime and even some floater mixed with ejector on those final ending hills. In the back rows there is a slight rattle but if you want to avoid that just ride in the front row. This is a capacity monster, the most I've ever waited for this was 20 minutes on a busy weekend in may. the drop is awesome in the front and back rows. This is a good 4# ride in the park but on any given day I might switch this for Kingda Ka.

Nitro isn't the most forceful hyper going, a disadvantage when you've been on the incredible Superman at SFNE just a few days before. It's a superbly engineered B&M, but lacks features to stand out as an excellent ride. A shout out does go to the hybrid airtime hill/turn near the beginning, which does a clever combo of ejector and sideways-orientation at the same time that I've not experienced anywhere else.

I had such a fun time experiencing the terrific airtime of Nitro. Some people hate this ride but I am with you Sarah from coaster Studios this ride is better than Goliath (SFOG) Every Element is fire. The drop is good in the back row as it's not the best drop in the park. (cough, cough El Toro) It still is a good first drop then head in to some awesome airtime hills and experience the best floater airtime I have ever experienced. The head into the double upward helix which the first time I rode this made me grey out! Then you hit the midcourse which doesn't seem to slow down the train at all! Then experience some awesome floater airtime hills that make my Pe**is tickle every time. This ride is awesome and the best part is, is that this ride is glossy smooth. Don't be afraid of all the bad rumors about Nitro it truly is a awesome ride.

This is a spectacular ride. In terms of B&M hypers, it’s mid. But no hyper is bad, so this is a great ride. You get great floater throughout the first half, with the second half giving strong floater....

This is a spectacular ride. In terms of B&M hypers, it’s mid. But no hyper is bad, so this is a great ride. You get great floater throughout the first half, with the second half giving strong floater. But yeah, there are a few dead spots. Mainly those turns in the back. In the front, you have the sense of speed, which is great on this ride. And I forgot to mention the helix! Intense positives the whole way up, so it’s also sustained. Hardcore greyout. And of course, the night rides, which are extremely underrated. This ride has a great location beyond the trees and away from the park, so at night you’re just zooming past the trees at like 80 mph and can’t see anything.

While the airtime on some of the hills may be weak, the large camelbacks in the first half of the experience give some nice and sustained floater airtime. I also really like the helix before the midcourse block section, because you gray out as the train is navigating through the upward spiral helix. That moment also pulls strong positive G-forces. While it may not be the best hyper coaster, Nitro is a really enjoyable ride and is one of the most popular rides at Six Flags Great Adventure.

I rode a few hypers like Superman Ride of Steel at SFNE and the other hypers bearing the name at SFA and SFDL, but I didn't want to try Nitro, because I didn't really like the feeling the first drop gave me. But one Fright Fest of 2004, inspired by Cyborg the night prior, I SENT IT!! It turned out to be really fun! The restraints give you great room and secure you in place. IT FELT LIKE I WAS FLYING!! It became my newest darling, and I rode it thru out 2005 and beyond.
