I was so lucky to be able to ride Kingda Ka before it closed - my God, what an experience. Sure, maybe my eyeballs felt like they were going to leave my sockets, but it was all worth it to experience a force that couldn't be felt anywhere else. RIP, King...da Ka.

They've done you so dirty, Mr Colossus. you could be so much better, and give us all less headaches. I know that is your desire, but Mr Merlin won't let you - because they don't respect you. But, I do - I know you could be amazing again. One day, Mr Colossus. One day.

I might be off my head, but I rode the retrack recently and really thought it was mid - it was too smooth, and the intensity had been reduced a lot. Perhaps I've got rose-tinted glasses on, but my friend and I agree: the original was better, and more fun. Honestly, I was disappointed - I'd like to ride it again in a better row and hopefully improve my rating.

Is Th13teen a good coaster? Eh, it's fine: the layout is bog-standard, although becomes more entertaining at night as you're enveloped by the darkness of the woods. The notion of the theme is cool, but it's put together a little shoddily: it's spooky, but not particularly creative, or well realised. The drop sequence is fun, and surprisingly intense, although the blasts of fog had a habit of penetrating my ears even when I covered them. The backwards launch actually caught me off-guard, and might be one of the most entertaining aspects of the ride. Overall, though, it's just a fun little family coaster with a somewhat unique element attached to it.

Back when it was the Clone Zone, I have a fond memory of being 10 years old and having a panic attack inside the elevator which introduced you to the fact that an alien will chase you, and that you had to scream at him to get rid of him. I think this single-handedly gave me an anxiety disorder. I later rode it with my godfather, for some reason, and we awkwardly sat together on the weird coaster bit and maybe enjoyed ourselves. There was a bit where a guy wore a bug alien costume and hid in the corner and then jumped out at us, and this did indeed frighten me. I would go on it again

Where is Sonic? Not here, and that disgusts me. Regardless, Spinball Whizzer exists, and sometimes you remember it does on the way to The Smiler. The theming is out of date, the return to position at the end can be very rough, and the queue line only has one game that functions in it; the other makes a cartoonish noise that children will insist on activating every minute. Is it fun? I suppose: and, it can even be intense at times. But, the on-ride photo doesn't work well, so sometimes you don't appear in the photograph. Also, if you hadn't already heard, Sonic is gone. Primarily because of the lack of Sonic, this ride is not worth it. If Sonic was there I would have given it 5 stars.

Rita might just be the fastest English woman. Rita provides a great launch, and an intense first turn and hill. Besides this, however, Rita starts to get a little boring, performing the same manoeuvres over and over again until the ride ends. The theming is fine, but quite bare-bones. Also, why does the announcer say we must escape, but we end up in the same place at the end? Doesn't make much sense to me, mate. Also, I want to hear Rita speak. Why is Merlin silencing Rita - because she's a woman? Disgusting.

What could be more fun than flying through a beautiful English landscape, with sci-fi theming occasionally appearing? Newer attempts at flying coasters. Nevertheless, Galactica is entertaining, and offers a ride experience you cannot get anywhere else at Alton Towers: inversions that rotate your body in ways you never thought you'd experience, and watching the general public lie face-down in an awkward position for multiple minutes as they wait to leave the train. Also, thank GOD they removed the VR element - what a complete waste of time.

I think I had a religious experience on this thing. Like... How did they do it? This has got to me the most intense ride experience I've ever had on a wooden coaster. My timbers were beyond shivered. Send me off on this ride.

It's a classic, and there's a reason I ride it every time I visit Alton Towers: the drop is unique, and the soundtrack and late-90s/early-2000s vibes are tremendous. The line itself wraps around the building nicely, and there are excellent vantage points to capture the prominent drop. Of course, after the drop, there's not really anything going on - you're just returning to the station in comparison. But, you're on it for the drop! Merlin, you did good with this guy.

Another certified Merlin banger. BEAUTIFUL theming, perhaps the best in the entire park, combined with a solid layout that carries momentum throughout even until the brakerun. I do have qualms with the ending (spoiler) - it's just a tunnel with crackling sounds and warm lighting, which makes me think they ran out of interest or money. But, the pre-show and overall theming including the music makes up for it. ALSO, the lovely smell in the pre-show. The candle they sell doesn't smell like it and that's very upsetting!! Stupid stupid!!

The Smiler is a banger, what can I say. Some of the coolest theming on a coaster, lots of intense inversions and twists, and great pacing all neatly packed into a surprisingly compact space. I think it's starting to get a little too rough around the inversions, especially near the end, but that's fun sometimes. I MIGHT belong to The Smiler, honestly.
