Batman: Gotham City Escape at Parque Warner Madrid is a masterful Intamin multi-launch coaster that blends intensity, airtime, inversions, and theming into one unforgettable ride. The experience begins in the incredibly immersive queue, starting in front of Wayne Manor with stunning architecture before leading riders through an evacuation scenario as they rush into a secret tunnel to the Batcave, a visually stunning space that seamlessly transitions into the Gotham City Transit subway-themed station, where the high-tech coaster train, built from lightweight carbon fiber, rolls in, illuminated by scanning lights. These trains feature modern Intamin lap bars that allow excellent freedom of movement, ensuring comfort and intensity throughout the ride. Upon dispatch, the train rolls into the first launch pad, pausing momentarily before being launched forward with a powerful burst of acceleration over an airtime hill that provides a strong pop of ejector air before flipping into a slow-paced corkscrew that offers graceful hangtime. The second launch kicks things into high gear, forcefully propelling riders into a high-speed turnaround that leads into the towering top hat, where a slight trim at the peak maximizes sustained ejector airtime before plunging into an intense beyond-vertical drop. From there, the train whips through an S-turn, followed by another airtime hill leading into the one-of-a-kind wave turn-dive loop, a revolutionary element that fuses lateral airtime with an inversion, creating an unparalleled sensation. A downward airtime hill follows, launching riders out of their seats before the ride weaves through rapid, whippy transitions. The fast-paced corkscrew sends riders twisting through the air, immediately flowing into a wave turn that dishes out even more sideways airtime before rocketing into the third and final launch, which sends the train soaring into a breathtaking zero-G stall that suspends riders upside down for an extended moment of hangtime, one of the most satisfying moments on the ride. The grand finale is as unique as the rest of the experience, as instead of a traditional brake run, the train ascends into a spike before rolling backward into a final braking sequence, adding an unexpected and thrilling finish. Having ridden it twelve times, I can confidently say this is one of Europe’s most outstanding coasters, with its combination of theming, powerful launches, airtime-filled elements, and relentless pacing making it a must-ride. The standout moments include the second launch, the incredible airtime on the top hat, the wave turn-dive loop, the stall, and the unique braking system, all of which contribute to an experience that never lets up. Intamin has created a near-perfect multi-launch coaster, and whether you're riding it for the first time or your twelfth, Batman: Gotham City Escape is a ride that always delivers, making it an absolute must for any coaster enthusiast visiting Spain. Final Rating: 10/10.

Australias best coaster. Its got powerful ejector and some strong positive gs. All of this is experienced with an extremely freeing lap bar and seat design. My only cons for this coaster are its capacity (dispatches on white christmas for me took around 3 mins) and the occasional dead spot, though I think that the complaints for this ride's pacing are overblown. I get that the stengel dive doesnt do much, and neither does the helix when its running slower, but still, the ride at least feels like it flows in most sections of the ride, and for me, never feels sluggish and keeps its intensity fairly well. My favourite elements are the first drop in the back row (powerful sustained ejector with laterals), the big camelback (nearly 3 secs of ejector airtime), the non inverting loop (whip with airtime) and the final 3 bunny hills (i felt airtime in my throat). And then theres the backwards row. God damn. Just go and ride this thing. The combination of powerful forces with a freeing seat and restraint design, as well as immaculate smoothness make this the best coaster in aus.
