First Drop Intensity Layout
This is my new favorite flyer model and I think it's way better than Tatsu. The only thing Tatsu has over this is the massive pretzel loop. However, Manta's pretzel loop was still super intense and probably the second most intense I've experienced (better than the Superman models for sure). I think the first drop is also very underrated. It feels quite sharp and generates a lot of speed compared to other models. The terrain usage on this is second to none. I even got splashed on the waterfall flying that close to the terrain. I generally don't lap these types of coasters but it was this and Mako I couldn't stop re-riding that day. 4.5/5 stars

this was my first flyer. its great but hanging on the breakrun in the flying position hurt my neck

Inversions Intensity
Manta is a fantastic ride, even if mostly for the pretzel loop! The rest of the ride doesn't particularly standout, but the usual fair for a B&M flying coaster, especially the Zero-G rolls, is fun given your position. Great ride! Just pray the ops are fast enough for you not to be stuck on the brake run at the end (they won't be)!

Theming Inversions Intensity
Great ride for this park, the pretzel loop tries to kill you. The g forces are insane and the rest of the ride is floaty with some great theming.
-
Inversions Intensity Discomfort
Manta was my first B&M flying coaster and I was impressed. The inversions are great, especially the pretzel loop, which offers extremely strong positive Gs with your back towards the ground, a very unique and intense experience. I also like where it flies close to the ground; it really does feel like you're going to hit something. It is mostly pretty smooth, but there are a few potholes here and there. The restraint is also not particularly comfortable for me, but that's true for pretty much anything that touches my shins on a coaster.

Theming Intensity Smoothness Capacity Discomfort Dead spots
This is my first bm flyer. I wa every impressed and surprised! That pretzel loop is killer, icing on the cake! I love how the beginning makes you feel like a diving bird or falcon, and then the loop is just sheer intensity! I thought my head would pop off! So much fun. After the loop they give you a break by sending you on multiple twists and corkscrews, which are the first ones I've been on that don't bang your head and box your ears! Very smooth. The theming was also pretty great, being that you pass by a manta ray aquarium and a water fall. The capacity, however, isn't great. There are dead spots after the pretzel loop between corkscrews, but I was kind off glad for the relief. It was a little uncomfortable when they kept you hanging there on the breaks for a minute, but the ride makes up for it.

Comfort Intensity Disappointing! Dead spots Reliability
The pretzel loop is great and it’s a comfortable ride. However, the rest of the ride is lackluster to me. On my day it seemed unreliable as well.

Inversions Fun Intensity
my favorite b&m flyer (i haven't been on tatsu or flying dinosaur yet), super intense pretzel loop, and a second half that is super fun
-
Inversions Fun Intensity Discomfort
This is my first B&M Flyer. It is really fun all the way through and had great inversiones. It is intense and the pretzel loop is one of the most intense elements out there. Its setting over the water is really nice too. My only complaint is after you hit the brake run you are still hanging which was uncomfortable to me.
-
First Drop Fun Intensity Rattle Discomfort
While not the best B&M flyer it is amazing. The pretzel loop is stupid intense and the helixes have good power. The drop off the midcourse and the first drop have airtime and whip plus a nice setting throughout the ride.

Theming Intensity Layout
My favorite flying coaster that I've ridden! Really like the finale over the water :)

Comfort Harness Smoothness
This was my favorite flyer until I experienced the incredible FLY. I generally do not enjoy flying coasters because of the restraints. However, Manta's harness is very comfortable, and the layout is fun and scenic. The only thing I didn't like was the dive into the pretzel loop, as the positive Gs pressed my chest too hard against the harness. The pretzel loop itself was fun. My #2 flying coaster.

Location Intensity Layout
My favorite B&M flyer. The layout is balanced between super intense moments and also graceful moments. The pretzel loop is one of the most intense elements out there and the following rolls are both super fun. The second half is what makes the ride for me though. The near misses and interactions with the location are very unique. The dive over the water is awesome and from there you fly past rock work, waterfall, and trees and every time it feels like you get way too close.

Theming Fun Intensity Capacity Discomfort
I love Manta, especially that pretzel loop that tries to kill you. This ride is just gorgeous, with the aquariums and the music. When you hear the music from far away, that’s how you know this ride is running well. I put capacity a con because they aren’t running both sides of the station, Manta’s vest restraints aren’t really that bad compared to Pipeline or newer B&M coasters that use these. Also, capacity affects the comfort of the ride as you’ll just be sitting face down for over 2 minutes.
-
Fun Intensity Discomfort
The pretzel loop was the most intense element I've ever been on.
-
These flying coasters are trying to replicate Tatsu and the terrain is flat so it just doesn’t work very well. On top of that I always get sick to my stomach on these.

Inversions Location Discomfort
I really wanted to like Manta more, but I think B&M flyers just aren't for me. I was hoping my experience on Superman was isolated to a bad day, but I'm now 2 for 2 on these rides making me feel nauseous and discombobulated. I don't get that feeling at all on the flying dutchman I've done, so it's likely related to the pull-up flying position as opposed to the lean-back. That said, I absolutely love this ride's location over the midways and scenery throughout the layout, and the pretzel loop is of course incredible, but I just can't bring myself to rate it higher due to its lack of reridability. 7.5/10 - the aquarium in the queue is awesome, but why is it so damn dark in there?

Inversions Pace Intensity
Manta completely changed my view on the flying coaster format. I've been on Superman Ultimate Flight (SFOG) and Nighthawk and really didn't enjoy either, but Manta was a stellar experience...bigger, faster, and much more forceful. I don't know why a more intense combination of the same elements I've experienced before were so much more enjoyable - they just were. And I'm grateful for it. I was not expecting it, but Manta was the best coaster in the park. Great theming, beautiful design and a wicked experience...and the pretzel roll...just wow! Loved it front to back. Only complaint was having to hang for about 90 seconds after our ride finished waiting for the train in front of us to clear. A small gripe in the grand scheme. Bring on Tatsu!
-
Theming Inversions Intensity
It has the great intensity from the pretzel loop just like all the other B&M flyers, but the theming on Manta is incredible.
-
First Drop Inversions Intensity
First inversion is the most intense thing i ever tried
-
First Drop Theming Fun Capacity
This ride is one of my favorites at seaworld. Its a great time however it can get uncomfortable if you are stuck at the end, which happens quite often because its capacity is always cut in half. Despite this its a fun ride that never ceases to disappoint!
-
Inversions Masterpiece Intensity Too short
feels so short i absolutely love rideing back row as it is the most intense and i personally believe this coaster is perfect

Pace Fun Intensity Reliability
I love this coaster a lot and think it’s criminally underrated. When I first rode it in 2017 it was one of the first big coasters I rode and I thought it was insane. It was a complete blur while also being extremely fun, and I ranked it as my #1 at the time. Fast forward some time and I rode many more coasters and I became more of an enthusiast, so this ride dropped. I remembered the ride being intense and crazy but I thought I was just overplaying it in my head because of how new and scary it was to me at the time. 6 years later and I finally get the chance to ride it again, and my memories of it being insane were completely accurate, manta truly is a beast. It found it’s way into my top 10 with over 200 credits to my name. First of all I love the presentation of this ride, the colors are perfect, especially at this park and the landscaping and views you can get of the coaster are spectacular. The queue is cool as it is completely indoors and u pass several fish tanks. The trains look just as good as the rest of the ride and the restraints are comfortable and pretty open feeling for a Flyer, especially if you can get room which is pretty easy. Back right is my favorite seat and there usually isn’t too much of a line which is nice however the operations are terrible and this coaster does go down quite a bit. There’s also epic music playing throughout the whole queue and even on the lift hill, and there’s this really cool sound when you raise into the flying position, it sounds like you’re charging up to prepare for the insanity that is manta. Speaking of flying coasters, I love them because it adds to the fun factor a lot and it accentuates the forces and sense of speed quite a bit, it’s a big part of why I love this ride so much. After a relaxing lift you whip down the drop, in the back you get yankee over and then get violently thrown to the side and slammed with the first moment of crushing positive G’s in the flying position. After that you head into the massive pretzel loop, which offers super sustained, blackout level positives in the lying position. The exit of the element slams you back down into your seat and blasts you with a short bust of positives in the flying position before entering a graceful but fun inline twist. The following valley is the most sustained moment of positives in the flying position and you are absolutely hauling at this point, it’s a greyout moment but since it’s in the flying position, instead of the forces crushing down on you they push out and it feels like your eye are popping out of your head. It’s insane and unlike anything else I’ve experienced. Another graceful roll and forceful valley takes you into the mid course, which lightly taps the train so you fly into the 2nd half. The drop off of it provides a unique moment of airtime on a flying coaster. The rest of the ride includes more fun and intense valleys in the flying position and one last inversion, this one being an inline twist which has a little bit of snap to it. This part of the ride offers insane bear misses with the pond, trees and roc’s and some water will hit you. Overall the ride hauls from start to finish the entire time and leaves you breathless on the brake run, despite looking slow off ride. The positives in both the laying and flying position are very powerful and there’s other surprising forces sprinkled in the ride. The ride isn’t too long but doesn’t feel short at all, and is smooth and comfortable except for one jolt but it doesn’t hurt at all. Manta is also just plain fun as you fly around the park, flipping through enjoyable inversions and narrowly dodging trees and rocks. Manta isn’t objectively one of the best coasters out there but personally, the perfect combination of intensity and fun make this a special ride for me.

Theming Location Disappointing! Discomfort Tear it down!
Ugh... Look, I'm sorry, but... I don't like this ride. Now! Before you all get your pitchforks and torches out, let me explain. I can see the potential of this ride, as it has a very nice location, and a charming theme to a swimming manta ray. However, this ride has MANY problems that keep it from being good. It has terrible restraints, the whole entire ride after the pretzel loop is a dead spot, this ride has a very noticeable rattle, and this is one of the very few coasters to actually make me sick to my stomach. Just, not a good ride. I want to like it, but I can't. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if it got torn down either, in which it probably should so Seaworld can put in something ACTUALLY GOOD!

Inversions Pace Intensity
The intensity is really different depending on which row you are "sitting". In the front the bretzelloop is much more intense!

Inversions Location Intensity Discomfort Reliability
I think I’ve ridden this coaster four or five times, and the first few times were extremely fun. The inversions and intensity are wicked fun, but not to the point of being overwhelming. The layout and way the trains glide through the water are super cool too (and fun to watch off the coaster too; great layout!). However, on the most recent time I rode it, our train got trapped on the break run for close to ten minutes. Being stuck in that harness for almost ten minutes hanging in the air is absolutely horrific. One member of our group was so scarred that she won’t go on any coasters with over the shoulder harnesses anymore. If you can stomach that possibility, this is definitely worth multiple rides. This ride also has the best queue out of any SeaWorld coaster and has some fun little aquarium moments to look at while you’re waiting in line.
-
Inversions Fun Intensity
This was my first flying coaster and it is SUPER FUN! It’s surprisingly intense and it has lots of cool inversions! I also love the near-miss elements!
-
First Drop Nice surprise! Intensity Capacity Harness
Harness can be a bit uncomfortable if you’re stuck on the break run for 10 minutes. Anyways, besides the absolutely abysmal ops, the coaster is very good. First drop in the back row provides some strange airtime, made even weirder in the flying position.
-
Inversions Intensity Layout Intensity
Such a different coaster, it definitely feels like you're flying. The front is nice because you can see where you're going and feel all the flying sensation but the back you can't see where you're going much and it's definitely more intense. The pretzel loop is insane in the back, you pull major Gs on it. It's almost top intense but this coaster is so fun overall and it feels like youre going super close to the surroundings at points, faith didn't like this one too much tho
-
Inversions Dead spots
Probably the most creative take on a flying coaster I've ever experienced. Like it says above, those inversions are IMPRESSIVE, not just intensity-wise but in how they're placed and timed for high impact. Some disappointing moments force-wise, although that clearly wasn't the aim, and I would have liked to see them do more with the lake.
-
Location Too short Discomfort
flying coasters are not very comfy for me especially when your sitting on the final break area for 4 minutes as the ops are so slow.
-
Theming Inversions Intensity
Manta is a super fun flying coaster and it think a lot of that is helped by the setting over the entrance and theming. The pretzel loop is incredible as always and the other inversions are also a ton of fun, the turns are pretty intense and I love the ending with the cool splash effect and flying past the water fall. My favorite at Seaworld Orlando for a reason.
-
Inversions Fun Discomfort Dead spots
Manta has some really fun moments, a visually impressive ride with suprisingly whippy corkscrews, and a great - while overrated - pretzel loop. Even the ride's slower turns seem more interesting as you swoop over the paths. The ride was comfortable during the layout, but while on the brakerun, I found the attraction incredibly uncomfortable when mixing the slow operations with the unforgiving harness - however this doesn't really take too much away from the ride as a whole.
-
Location Intensity Smoothness
My favorite flying coaster. The ride is butter smooth and features fantastic inversions and near misses. The pretzel loop is the most intense inversion I have ever experienced. It crushes you with insane positive Gs. A wonderful ride that greets guests as they enter the park.
-
Inversions Location Intensity
This is an incredible flying coaster. It's very intense and that pretzel loop is insane. Also the second half is very fun especially flying down over the water
-
Location Intensity Smoothness
Manta is my current favorite flying coaster. I think it has a compact, action-packed, and intense layout that features several fantastic near misses that make the ride. The location and setting create so many great interactions. The ride itself looks beautiful, especially the second half. The color scheme is pretty, the train looks great, and the landscaping around the ride is top tier. The entrance looks good with the rock work and awesome signage, plus the queue line is good as well as it also functions as an aquarium. The ride itself is great. The first drop is fun and then comes the most intense part of the ride. You dive into a pretzel loop that crushes you with positive G's. You then go through an inline twist which is a unique and fun feeling while flying and then traverse a tight turn that also has plenty of positives, You go through a zero-g roll which is similar to the inline twist in how it's just a really weird feeling while flying. You hop into the mid-course and then begin the second half which is full of near misses. You drop and bank right over the water which sprays as the train passes. You climb to the right where you fly past some rock work that feels way too close. You go through one last inline twist and then bank right way too close to the ground on then left and way too close to the tree branches on the right. Manta is an incredibly intense ride that has a beautiful setting and great landscaping allowing for some amazing moments. Great flying coaster.

Comfort Intensity Layout
I haven't been on many of this style (in fact this may be my only BandM Flyer) and I was pleasantly surprised by the intensity of that Preztel loop. The harness is incredibly comfortably.

Fun Intensity Discomfort Dead spots
As my first and only flying coaster, this gave me a mixed feeling. I do enjoy this ride very much since the pretzel loop and other inversions are very fun, but the flying position causes discomfort and there are some dead spots in the layout. This is a nice ride altogether.
-
Inversions Fun Smoothness Dead spots
This is a great ride. The pretzel loop is amazing, and the rest of the ride makes you feel like you are soaring through the sky, with the exception of the pop of air off of the mcbr. The reason this isn't 5 stars isbecause some of the ride feels like a family coaster, with very low thrills and slow speeds.
-
Nice surprise! Fun Intensity Harness
What a surprise. It’s almost intended as a more friendly family ride but it is very smooth yet crazy intense. It’s first pretzel loop has both negative to positive g forces with a perfect transition. Ride is beyond smooth yet very intense. Only down side is my massive balls and penis that get a bit cramped by the seat if it’s loose. Very fun ride and have would be a top coaster if it were in a lesser park.
-
Inversions Intensity Layout
Very cool ride. The queue had nice aquariums to look at. The coaster itself is amazing and had one nice ejector airtime spot, its fast paced, no rattle, not too short and has a good layout. Thrill: 4/5
-
Inversions Comfort Fun Dead spots
Great and FUN ride! Pretzal Loop is very forceful, but the corkscrew after the 1st roll is to die for, giving the best floater i've ever experienced (I likely just got a good ride) I even very slightly prefered it to the pretzal loop! Recomended for sure, but be mindful as the ride completely dies right before the FBR
-
Inversions Location Layout Harness Discomfort Reliability
7.8 out of 10. I am going back to try this again just because i love Mako, so will give it a 2nd chance. it was very uncomfortable for me, but it was my first coaster of the year. I love the layout and location in the park. i like the idea of flying and it had it points that was fun, that is way it got a 7.8. it broke down many times before was able to ride it.
-
Location Comfort Intensity Too short
Manta is a beautifully landscaped and graceful flying coaster, with the pretzel loop giving some insane G’s. The queue is interestingly enough a manta ray exhibit, which makes waiting in line just that much more tolerable, and the exit line is tucked off in between the mid-course and station. As the only other flyers I’ve ridden are Firehawk at Kings Island and Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Over Georgia, this bests both of them far and away. The layout is quite substantial, but it feels a lot shorter than it actually is — this is the only con I can think of on Manta, and it’s a minor complaint at that. All in all, Manta is a coaster that looks just as good as it rides!
-
Location Fun Smoothness
Best coaster in Seaworld, well paced and makes good use of the flying coaster tech. The pretzel loop is forceful and memorable, but this ride more than just a G-machine. I really like how Seaworld don't big their rides up as terror machines, rather, instead, dress it up as "come fly with us" - much more fun and inviting to a wider audience. My only dislike comes from the mid course brakes, which are largely unnecessary for anything other than 2-train-on-track simultaneous operation, which I have never seen occur!
-
Theming Fun Intensity
A fun flyer.. the inverted loop is insane ! super intense! Fun flyover the water, near misses.. overall pretty fun coaster. About as comfortable as a flying coaster can be
-
Location Pace Intensity Harness Discomfort
Manta is a fantastic coaster. An awesome pretzel loop, great pacing, a gorgeous setting, fantastic theming, and fun twists and turns to create a flying sensation. Unfortunately it suffers the same problems as most B&M flyers, as the restraints aren't the most comfortable, especially when you're hanging on the brake run. But an otherwise perfect ride.
-
Comfort Fun Smoothness Dead spots
Flying coasters are great and the pretzel loop to begin is fantastic. Unfortunately the end of the ride is weaker but it's still really fun.
