Despite a short ride duration, it's difficult to go wrong with a hydraulic launch- and Storm Runner is standing proof. After reaching it's top speed through a world class launch, Storm Runner kicks off a layout filled with ejector airtime, laterals, whip, positives, and more.

Storm Runner was my first Intamin Accelerator, and it is still my favorite. The launch is mental, with it going 0-72 mph in 2 seconds, it is such a rush. It has a voice before the launch, which is iconic. The top hat gives nice airtime. It then goes into a cobra loop, which is a weird Immelmann. Then it goes into a flying snake dive, which gives great whip. Then it goes into some turns to end off the ride. This coaster is very unique, having two unique elements, the cobra loop and the flying snake dive. The ride is short, but it does a lot in that time. This ride has made me like hydraulic launches a lot.

This ride is super fun. The first launch is very punchy, you get WHIPPED over that top hat in the back, the cobra roll made me gray out, and that flying snake dive is about as fun as it sounds, especially with how high up it is. There are even some head-choppers as you zip back to the station. The capacity is also surprisingly good with the duel station. As for cons, the harness isn't ideal, it has a slight rattle, and, even though it is relatively long for an Intamin Xcelerator, it is still a bit too short. It's an elite ride though. Also, the logo is insanely cool.

This is the best hydraulic launched coaster I've ever done. It's not close. I did it 3 times in repetition, it's just that good. The launch is spectacular, but also the layout is amazing, especially the double inverting dive loop and the last airtime hill. It's short, yeah, but that's the only con of this ride! Phenomenal!

The flying snake dive is one my favorite elements because it is unique. Overall is the 3rd best ride in the park.

Le lauch est un peu faiblard pour en avoir ridé beaucoup il est peut être un peu court et manque de puissance, comparé aux autres intamin c est peut être l un des moins bien MAIS tout le reste du parcours est incroyable ejector au top hat intensité incroyable dans les creux ( plus fort que dans skyrush ? ) et la double inversion pour finir ou on enchaine hangtime et g + en quelques seconde c est incroyable. Bonne petite surprise !

Literally the only flaw that this thing has is its duration. This thing ends as soon as it begins. However, the elements this ride actually has are absolutely peak roller coaster moments. The launch is one of the punchiest in the world, and without a second to spare, the train is thrusted up into the top hat, which gives some of the strongest airtime in the park. The ride is then followed by a very hard greyout, a wacky inversion, and somehow another world-class element; the flying snake dive, which is so incredibly disorienting. The ride also has an incredible setting, going through trees and over paths and water. Absolutely incredible ride, but should’ve been longer.

For me Storm Runner is one of if not the best rollercoaster at Hersheypark. It is an excellent rollercoaster that has stood the test of time. The launch is perfect as it is very forceful while being smooth. The ride uses airtime as well as a launch coaster can. And the flying Snake Dive here is pure fun as it is not disorientating and it doesn't give you a headache. This exact Snake Dive is among my favorite single rollercoaster elements of all time. The entire ride is very well paced, without dead spots, smooth and in my opinion not too short. The only real cons of the rollercoaster are the awful plastic seats. But other than that this rollercoaster can still compete with newer ones and I consider it as one of the best launch coasters out there. It is probably the best Intamin Accelerator Coaster.

The ironically named Storm Runner, like most rides at Hershey, will not run in the rain. I was lucky enough to get a break in the bad weather to get a couple of goes on this machine in the limited time we had to visit. The difference over the other accelerator coasters of course is that this one actually does something with the power rather than fritter it away on the brakes, a massive plus. I hate those Intamin overheads, though I don't remember them being as much of a nuisance as they are on say, Furius Baco or Kingda Ka.

Storm Runner is absolutely explosive. The launch is, well, explosive. The airtime into the top hat is huge, and the immelmann is forceful. The flying snake dive is the best part of the ride, airtime into a double barrel roll, and the second roll dives down mid roll. Add some twisty s-bends at the end, and the ride is over. Obviously it's very short, but man is it so sweet.

Storm Runner is one of Hershey’s best coasters: it’s an intense launch coaster with a top hat, a completely unique inversion I call the storm roll and a double zero g roll at the end. The launch is exhilarating and you hit speeds of around 85 mph as you attack the crazy features of this intense ride. The only downside is that it’s done before you know it. At least it’s got more features than Ka, though.

This coaster type is becoming a rarity and I'm so glad the one at my home park is one of the most reliable of its type. It's got a funky lay out due to how they squeezed it in, but that makes it the special coaster it is. The launch is simply fantastic and a power house and every element afterward hits hard and stands out. It is really short but its strong elements and mighty punch make up for it.

This ride is vicious. I'd have loved every second of it if the harness wasn't trying to amputate my thighs. The real thigh crush, ladies and gentlemen, is this ride. So painful on the double barrel roll and top hat, but I understand that it's just me, and although I can't completely forgive it, I'll only take away .5 of a star. If we had more rating options, I'd have given this a 4.3/5

Un launch très puissant, un Top Hat efficace, un Cobra Loop basculant à gogo, un Flying Snake Dive fougueux, Storm Runner à de très nombreux arguments de qualité à faire valoir. Le Layout est court mais réfléchi pour offrir un maximum de sensation en un court laps de temps le tout ponctué d'une belle pointe d'intensité tout le long du ride, malgré son âge Storm Runner est toujours une machine à rider absolument.

What a relentless ride. First, this is weird in terms of how good capacity is. If you're not in the station, it's regular 2 train ops. However, once you're in the station, it's essentially one train because of the dual loading platform. Anyways. once you get on, just know that if you were glasses, they will get caught with the restraint. Didn't have this problem on Maverick, but I did have it with this. When the restraint automatically unlocks at the end, then it's quite a disturbance. At the launch, the audio is synced up. Don't know how long it's been, but it was when I was there. The audio says "Now get ready, here we go" then immediately you get launched into a smaller version of Kingda Ka's launch. Yeah, they felt the same. The incline of the tophat gives surprisingly sustained ejector airtime. Drop gives a bit more, than you fall. The cobra loop isn't too notable. You have some speed throughout the element, but that's the only takeaway. Then, there's the flying snake dive. You rise up into even more ejector, go through a fast heartline roll, then roll into the drop. This is an incredible inversion mixing in several forces. Next couple elements are some added turns that prevent the ending from being filler. This is still a short ride, but they did so much to it. Incredible layout and it's definitely worth waiting for the front row.

HOLY COW! Knowing the Intamin accelerator models can be unreliable, I was surprised when I saw that on both days I was here it was operating. One thing I noticed was that the line on it was insanely short. now I don't know if that's just because I've been to so many parks and know how to maximize my time at parks or just the capacity is as good as I think it is. In 2 days I was able to ride almost everything at Hershey Park twice. Storm Runner was one that I rode 3 times, twice of them being walk-ons. Now about the coaster itself, that launch, you should be expecting if you know what you're riding, however, it's one of the best launches ever. If you get first or second row, the ejectors on that top hat are great. don't the element after the top hat is crazy because you are still in shock from the launch and when you go into that inversion it banks so fast. other than the launch, the best element in my opinion is the heartline roll into the half-loop dive loop. you will believe it or not get some crazy lats on it.

The launch of this ride never gets old! Such a unique layout and great inversions, although a short ride, the lines aren’t usually long if there’s 2 trains running. There is a slight rattle but nothing major. Overall better ride experience than other launch coasters like kingda ka.
